‘Yeah, what’s the difference?

‘Grace isn’t the little girl who saved my life and neither is she some stunning beauty, so why do I care about her?

‘Is it because of that face?

‘However, that’s just a misunderstanding, isn’t it? It’s just because I always thought that the little girl would grow up to look like her.

‘When in fact, the little girl grew up to be Lifang!’

Brian drank gla** after gla** as if he wanted to get himself drunk. Patrick could only drink with his friend.

A figure was now trembling in the corner of the banquet. He even lost interest in the new model he finally managed to hook up with. There was only fear in his heart!

Curtis Row never expected that the one who accompanied Jason to the banquet today was the paralegal called Grace!

He could hardly understand what was going on!

He thought Grace was related to Stella, the woman often seen around Brian, so

Ter he had apologized by sending Grace some yellow roses for the previous incident.

However, now it seemed that this woman… had more to do with Jason and

Brian.

When he saw Brian holding Grace’s wrist and Jason stopping him, Curtis Row’s back was immediately drenched with cold sweat as his hair stood on end.

These two men were the most powerful and wealthy men in Emerald City!

‘Now… they’re fighting over a woman?

‘For heaven’s sake, who did I offend that day?’

“Kaihao, what’s the matter? You look so pale. Didn’t you say you would introduce me to more e-commerce tycoons today?” the model said coquettishly.

She finally managed to hook up with Curtis Row and got him to change his mind to bring her here instead of his starlet girlfriend.

She wanted to use this banquet to expand her network.

However, Curtis Row was in no mood to pay attention to the beautiful woman’s coquettish behavior. All he could think about was… what he should do!

Jason sent Grace back to the rental house.

“I’m a little tired and I want to go to bed early.” What Grace said was equivalent to ordering Jason to leave. However, he had no intention of leaving.

He nonchalantly lifted strands of hair from her cheek and twirled them with his fingers. “Did you really tell Brian that you wouldn’t love me anymore?”

Grace pursed her lips, looking at the face close at hand before saying, “Yes.”

Jason’s expression changed immediately.

“Do you think I should continue to love you after we’ve broken up?” she asked with some amusement.

“Who would you love then?” Jason asked after keeping quiet for a while.

“No matter who else I choose to love after this, I wouldn’t love you anymore. I’m your sister and you’re my brother, right?” She suddenly smiled at him.

However, the smile seemed so glaring to him.

“Will you fall in love with Brian?” he asked, staring at her.

Grace was silent… Falling in love with Brian was something she had never imagined. Brian was her childhood friend who had gone through thick and thin with her

She and Brian might have had a friendship, but love…

Grace did not answer the question and only said, “Do you think falling in love is easy? Jason, you never believed my love for you when you were dating me, did you?”

He pursed his thin lips. Then, he put his arms around her while his lips got closer to her ear. He croaked out the words,

“Don’t fall in love with Brian, alright?”

All he knew was that if she fell in love with Brian, he would be mad with jealousy!

He did not want her to fall in love with anyone else, even if they were now broken up and she was only his sister!

“Is falling in love with someone else alright then?” she asked.

“Who are you going to fall in love with?

Chase Harper?” The ordinary man flashed into his mind.

“This has nothing to do with Chase

Harper. I won’t fall in love with Chase

Harper!” she said immediately, not wanting to involve Chase Harper in their mess.

“It seems that you care a lot about

Chase Harper. You can’t wait to distance yourself from him. What’s the matter?

Are you afraid that I’ll do something to him?” Jason said angrily.

The more anxious she was to distance herself from Chase Harper, the more she seemed to care about the man.

‘What’s so good about the man who seems worthless to me? Why would she defend him like that?’

“I just don’t want to involve the innocent. Chase Harper’s a good guy. Besides, we’re just close because of the case I’m working on,” explained Grace.

“A good guy?” Jason suddenly sneered.

His warm breath sprayed on Grace’s ears. “You said I was a good guy too, Sis.”

Grace was stunned. She had just met him when she said that. He was gentle, careful, and never cared about the fact that she had been in prison. She thought he was a good man, but actually… there was a side to him that was scheming and cold-hearted. He had blood on his hands… He could never be a good man.

“Tell me, what will you do if I involve Chase Harper?’ he asked, testing her.

Her almond-shaped eyes stared at him with a certain determination. “Don’t lay a hand on Chase Harper. Otherwise, I won’t forgive you!”

She could only threaten him with herself!

His face darkened more and more. “You overreact when it’s just about Chase

Harper. Are you still going to deny that you care about him?”

‘Care about him?’ Grace asked herself. She did not have any special feelings for Chase Harper, or maybe there was something simple and ordinary about him that made her wish for his safety.

The more you experienced darkness, the more you would feel that being simple and ordinary was the most valuable quality!

she replied.

“What if I insist? You once said you’d protect me,” he said.

Her eyelashes fluttered slightly as she lowered her eyes slowly. The corner of her lips curled as she said with self-mockery, “As you can see, can’t even protect myself. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be your Sis again now.”

When she finished, she felt his body stiffen for a moment. Then, his arms tightened around her. His hug was so tight that she could hardly breathe.

For the next two days, Jason never appeared in front of Grace again.

However, there was one thing that caught people’s attention online and became a hot topic.

It was a video of the Stevens family’s daughter, Zoe.

In the video, Zoe, who was dressed in a skimpy outfit, was on all fours as she ate scraps from a plate with dogs. She even barked like a dog as she ate, making it almost impossible to imagine that she was a Emerald City socialite.

As soon as the video was posted, it immediately created an uproar in high society. Ordinary folks left all kinds of comments.

The Stevens family tried desperately to remove it, but their efforts were to no avail even after they had spent a lot of money. It remained the most searched topic.

You could say that the Stevens family was completely disgraced because of this incident.

Journalists had cornered Sean and Lily in their attempts to interview them only to be rejected.

At the Stevens family’s residence, a group of paparazzi was waiting outside.

Zoe’s face was full of fear and anxiety.
