“You will have to go and tell them, Marilyn is going to be taken to the nearest hospital.”
She could see he was in full lawyer mode, thinking about everything around them, that needed to be attended to. They couldn’t do anything for Marilyn. Only paramedics could at this point, unless she stopped breathing.
T’ll call the police, myself on this one, Lisa,”
he told her. Till also be the one to go to the hospital with her. I don’t know the children, you do”
She nodded, it was logical, she thought as she looked down at Marilyn,
“Just more scars to add to the old ones.”
She murmured, seems like Marilyn just couldn’t catch a break.
How did she get those scars?”
Wil voiced.
“That is none of your concern, not the how or the where or the when,”
Hamilton stated.
“You can leave and take your client with you. Lisa and I will wait for the paramedics. I suggest you head to the police station or wait for your client to be arrested for more than just grievous bodily harm.
“With all that I heard in that meeting, I have enough recordings to say your client was angry enough about who he thinks my client is, to harm her. I wonder just what he was like behind closed doors? And if that is why his ex??ife suddenly disappeared.”
Lisa could hear the sirens coming now,
“Someone has to go to the front of the hotel.”
She touched his arm.
“Til go.”
Hamilton told her,
“If he touches you for any reason at all, I want to know Lisa.”
He looked at her pointedly and she nodded, understood he was being her big brother in that one moment.
“I’ll call dad as well.”
he called to her over his shoulder as he headed off to wait for the paramedics.
“I honestly didn’t mean it,”
she heard Calvin state.
“Just get the hell away from us.”
She turned angry eyes on him.
“If something bad comes from this, I will claim emotional trauma for her two children as well, and you will be held fully accountable for that. Get away from my client.”
She saw Wil grab Calvin and watched him be hauled away as she sank down and looked at Marilyn. How was she going to explain this to the two boys? They already knew their mum had been attacked yesterday and now this. It was going to scare them.
She’d never seen Cal and Vin scared before. That thought stopped her their names al and Vin. she rolled those two words together and got Calvin, and closed her eyes as she realised both those boys had black hair and hazel green eyes, just like one Calvin Reeves and that, along with Marilyn’s amnesia…
She looked at her friend and client and sighed, had she been Calvin Reeves’ wife? Who’d gotten into a horrendous car accident when leaving him and just forgotten everything? Only now to be confronted by him and not know who he was.
She was piecing it all together inside her mind, as she now suspected Marilyn herself was doing, and that was why she didn’t want the boys’ names mentioned in front of him. That man would be on that very fast and if he thought those boys were his, a simple DNA test would prove if they were or not, which would also prove who Marilyn was as well.
He stood staring at Calvin, and he was more than unhappy about the sight that was before him, Marilyn Riddley; his own wife’s favourite author was laying at the bottom of the emergency exit stairwell. His eyes. moved over the woman who could be, he now realized; actually could be Marrin, Calvin’s ex??ife
He was looking at the multitude of scars on both of her exposed legs, and after asking Calvin what the hell had happened. And he could, now that he was really looking at her, see there was also a scar on her left temple, though it was hidden mostly by her make??p. He was willing to bet she had more scars than what he was seeing now, as well.
Calvin had lost it completely after seeing Marilyn’s birth certificate and tried to. No, he had, managed to pull that woman’s shirt up and Wil knew it was going to have been against her will, and exposed the left side of her body to him. Calvin, he knew, had been checking for Marrin’s birthmark and had now seen that it wasn’t there, but had also seen more scars on her side.
Marilyn Riddley was a mass of scar tissue and Wil didn’t like it. His gut was twisting inside of him, and for more than just one reason. Though Calvin now thought he was completely wrong, and he had finally appeared to have come to his senses about the woman, and was now full of guilt about what had just happened. He’d voiced himself to Wil
“She’s not Marrin.”
Which not only meant that he had stalked and attacked an innocent woman, who’d never once approached him with ill intent, but she’d in no way even recognised him, and she had told the truth of the matter about not knowing who he was. Calvin’s utter insistence that he was right, and couldn’t possibly be wrong, had led to Marilyn coming to actual harm, and at the man’s own hands.
Calvin’s obsession had gotten the better of him, and if Marilyn never came around or died from this very accident. Wil was not going to be able to get him out of it. Calvin would also have just orphaned two children, because she herself was an orphan and he could see there was no wedding ring on her hand. He’d also read Marilyn was a single mother of two, it was in her bio, something he was certain Calvin himself would have read by now.
He walked Calvin away up the stairs and out into the hallway. This is bad Calvin, if she dies, you’re going to jail and from all the press leading up to this, Downgrading it to grievous bodily harm causing death, because
I know you’re it was an accident.”
Wil shook his head.
“No one is going to believe that; The press out th here for mediation with Marilyn and Lisa. Her lawyer is going to state it’s manslaughter. If you’re lucky, that is. He could go for murder because you have a clear motive.”
“There is no motive, what are you talking about?”
Calvin frowned at him.
“All the other women you’ve imprisoned, the way you stalked, harassed and harmed Marilyn on the street in public just yesterday, now this, just the very next day. This is really bad Calvin, you’d better start praying she wakes up.”
“I honestly didn’t mean to harm her Wil. I just wanted proof it was Marrin.”
He sighed.
“Did you get that?”
