A little while later, Harlow entered into the audition room with her assistant. Rumors claimed that all the judges nodded their heads in satisfaction and almost gave the role to her, right on the spot. Even though they didn’t say it, it was obvious they had already made their decision. But, they still insisted on watching all the auditions til’ the end.

“Amias, it’s Emma’s turn.”

“Go call her…” Amias instructed with his head down, it didn’t matter anyway since she hadn’t come. He had done what the old man requested.

However, as the assistant walked out and called the name of the person they thought had not come, a woman wearing a hat unexpectedly stood up. Simply seeing her height, there was no doubt who she was.

Most surprising of all, no one had noticed she was there all along…

Including Amias’s assistant.

Seeing Emma appear in front of him, he was stunned. How was he to explain this situation to the director? Above all, didn’t he tell her to come at 3pm? Why was she here on time?

Meanwhile, sitting in the corner, Elder Roberts almost jumped out of his chair and cheered. This young lady was sure interesting.

He found it extra interesting because he was sure he spotted a trace of disappointment in Amias’s eyes…

But, deep down, Amias had already made the assumption that Emma could only act in talking roles. So, even though she was on time, he did not think she would pass the auditions anyway. And even if she did pass the auditions, he would definitely find another excuse to eliminate her and choose Harlow instead. At least he was pleased with Harlow in all aspects.

“You can start…”

“I have one request,” Emma said as she looked at the panel of judges, “I would like to ask Amias to act out this scene with me. Is that possible?”

Everyone was stunned speechless. They never expected Emma to be so brave. Out of everyone she could have chosen, she actually asked for Amias!?

Amias also looked intrigued. He leaned against his chair and placed his pen on the desk, “Sure, what would you like me to do?”

Emma came prepared as she handed him a fake gun, “Within ‘The Lost Relative’, there is a scene where the female and male lead are both stuck inside a cave. In that scene…”

In that scene, the male lead held some people hostage whilst being stuck in a cave with the female lead. As per the script, the male lead had one foot on the back of one hostage, while pointing his gun at another’s head. Meanwhile, the female lead confronted him while sitting on a nearby rock.

It was a talking scene…

But, the little bit of action towards the end was the highlight of the scene. The female lead was to pounce over and try to snatch the gun from the male lead…

Amias never expected Emma to choose this scene.

But, it didn’t matter, because he also did not expect her to act it out well…

“Are you sure you want to do that scene?” Amias asked with a trace of doubt.

“Yes,” Emma nodded in certainty.

“As you wish!” After speaking, Amias gestured for his assistant to hand him the script. After familiarizing himself with the scene, he prompted to Emma, “Let’s get started…”

In reality, he did not truly care about fulfilling her request. He was simply challenging her to show him what she could offer.

So, he sat down in his chair, placed one foot on a dummy and pointed his fake gun at another one…

Emma squatted about 2 meters from him. Her head was initially down, but, as she lifted it, her eyes were red with a complex mix of anger, panic and disappointment. She instantly shocked the judges!

In this moment, she was no longer Emma – she had become the female fighter!

“You’ve been missing for 12 years, so I searched for you for 12 years. Everyone said I was crazy. One time, I saw someone wearing similar clothes to you drown. I hugged their dead body and cried for an entire day thinking it was you!”

Emma lowered her voice as it became raspy and heavy. The slight tremble in her questioning tone made the judges surprised once again.

Amias’s mind went blank for a moment, not knowing how to respond. He had never imagined that Emma would get into character so quickly and bring the female fighter to life so vividly.

“Wait, let’s start again,” Amias requested.

Emma immediately drew back her exp**ssion and converted back to her usual calm self; it only took her a second to do so. Although she still had the same makeup on, it was clear to see that Emma was Emma and the female fighter was the female fighter.

Amias was once again shocked. This time, he decided to take her seriously. After all, he had previously studied her acting and understood he shouldn’t underestimate this model-turned-actress.

A moment later, they were prepared for a second try. Once again, Emma had her head lowered. To everyone’s surprise, she picked up exactly where she left off and did not need to start again.

“Our child stood beside me and told me the body in my arms was not his father; that I had made a mistake. In the end, I laughed and cried as the real family members dragged the body away. You b*stard!” Emma’s voice sped up and became louder as an extra layer of suffering and hatred could be heard.

“You are a police officer and I am a criminal, it’s impossible for us to walk the same path,” Amias finally caught on as he opened his eyes wide and sneered at Emma.

“We will definitely walk the same path. We can walk the same path to death!” After speaking, Emma suddenly pounced towards Amias…

Amias responded by shooting her. Emma held onto her waist in pain as she lay on top of him, biting his arm.

Amias had always been strict towards himself: whilst having high expectations for others, he naturally had high expectations for himself. As a result, he was actually well-trained in martial arts. But, as he entered into a fight with Emma, he actually found it a challenge to win against her.

Because at this moment, the female fighter had completely disregarded the possibility of death. As she fought with him, her every punch was powerful and firm…

As for the thing that made Amias the most amazed: Emma’s skill and posture was comparable to Harlow’s! Especially the look in her eyes…The look that she was fighting with all she had!
