“Lily, you never even thought about names for our children…”

Lily: “”

Was this something to compete over?

What was there to compare?

She thought he was truly childish-such a waste of that restrained, noble face.

She was a little exasperated at his immaturity.

But she adored him all the same.

And she knew that unless she came up with names for their two little ones right now, she wasn’t getting out of this.

She racked her brain. “Bob Luke, Dawn Luke?”

“Mmm…”

}

Like a wolf about to devour its lamb, he kissed her so fiercely she couldn’t breathe.

Her eyes flew wide, meeting his burning gaze,

Her heart jumped.

She shouldn’t have been so lazy about the names just now.

Changing Bob Jones and Dawn Jones to Bob Luke and Dawn Luke was nothing but fuel on the fire!

Struggling to find her voice, she/stammered, “Hum… Candy Lake, Pretty Luke?”

“Candy, Pretty?”

His kiss only deepened.

Clearly, he wasn’t satisfied with her choices.

Lily felt like crying.

What did he expect their babies to be called?

She couldn’t very well say Dragon Overlord. She had a strong feeling if she dared, he’d only kiss her harder.

“Andy Luke, Felicity Luke?”

Still, he didn’t seem pleased.

She kept trying more names, but he kept kissing her.

In the end, she gave up.

Even if she called them League of Legends, he wouldn’t approve. Why waste the effort?

If he wanted to kiss her, fine-at worst the makeup artist would laugh at her later. It wasn’t like she’d lose a piece of flesh.

Her body turned soft and pliant, like a cloud shifting with the wind.

As always, just when she thought he might kiss her to death, he finally pulled away, restrained but reluctant.

When Lily lifted her eyes, she caught her reflection in the rearview mirror.

Her peach-blossom eyes shimmered with desire, her lips were visibly red, and there was a glaring mark blooming on her neck.

Was he part dog or something?

Thinking of the makeup artist having to cover her neck later, Lily was so furious she didn’t even want to talk to him.

James noticed the mark too.

He hadn’t meant to leave it.

But in the heat of the moment, he had lost control.

Worried she’d be upset, he carefully gathered her into his arms and murmured, “I didn’t mean to redden your neck. Or before… I didn’t mean that either.”

He still had the nerve to say it!

When they first met, he hadn’t been like this.

He had been stricter than any monk, always warning her not to touch him, not to get physically close.

How had that man, once so aloof, turned into this?

She turned her face away in defiance, refusing to look at him.

She had meant to stay mad for at least two minutes.

But she wasn’t firm at all. In the very next moment, her heart melted.

Because she heard him whisper, “Lily, I’m so lucky you want to be with me. Our family will stay together forever. We’ll never be apart.”

Lily wanted that too-for her, for him, for their babies. All her pride melted into tenderness.

She turned her face back, wrapped her arms tightly around his lean waist, pressed her cheek against his chest, and said with all her heart, “We’ll be together forever!”

Since she had rehearsal that afternoon, Lily didn’t linger with James for long.

That night’s show was a live broadcast, with many stars set to perform.

This time, Lily and Adeline were collaborating on a song with a traditional opera-style arrangement.

The two had always worked seamlessly together, and rehearsal went smoothly. They hoped the performance that night would be just as flawless.

As Lily’s soon-to-be boyfriend, James naturally came to support her.

Not just him-Grace, Zoey, and the others came as well.

Simon came too.

But not wanting anyone to know he was there to watch Lily, he didn’t sit with the Luke family or the Bale family.

|

Marilyn and Elsa were also seated in the audience that night.

They hadn’t come to admire Lily’s performance, nor to cheer for her.

They had come to savor the moment when everyone believed the child in Lily’s belly belonged to some filthy old man-when she would be cast aside, condemned, and left in disgrace.

My, doesn’t our Lily look handsome in men’s clothing!”

Whenever Lily performed with Adeline, she usually dressed as the man while Adeline wore women’s attire.

Tonight, Lily wore a bright red traditional costume, the very image of a dashing young scholar fresh from triumph, striking beyond words.

The moment she appeared on stage, Zoey couldn’t help but-shout, thrilled, “Lily looks amazing! Dressed like this, she’s the perfect charming young gentleman!”

Grace’s eyes shone with pride as she declared, “My granddaughter-in-law couldn’t possibly look anything aside!” but good! I’d say if Lily were born a man, even the so-called four great beauties would have to step

Their words were no exaggeration.

In women’s clothing, Lily was radiant, her beauty outshining the blossoms of spring, unforgettable at a glance.

In men’s clothing, she was dazzlingly handsome, graceful, and refined-captivating men and women alike.
