His eyes blacken slightly, and his tone is dangerously deep as he takes a few steps towards me “what makes you think you have a choice?”. As I am looking around trying to spot any options of getting out of this, he continues “you will be my little s*x slave and do as you are told, or you will end up like all the other slaves before you. Dead”. I regain some composure somehow and, despite the ominous threat, I manage to speak out “I would prefer the second option”. My words seem to enrage him as the iris of his eyes become pitch black, indicating his wolf is present again, and his voice a deep guttural sound “don’t worry, I will mouth f*ck those vocal cords of yours to shreds first, so you will learn to keep your mouth shut as I r*pe you until you are unable to move”. For one of the few times in my life, probably because of how outnumbered I am, I feel genuine fear rippling through me at his words. ‘Liberty we can’t let this happen, I…. I…..’ is all I manage to say to her as the rogue King stalks forwards towards me. I give one last look towards Nick “thank you Nick, for all you have done for me. Perhaps we will meet in another life” ‘I am so, so sorry Lib, but I can’t end up like that’ is the last I talk to anyone before I let myself drop into the river.
The river is even more vicious than it even seemed. At least this is a more humane ending than being r*ped to death I think to myself, as my lungs start to fill with water, right before my vision blackens.
**Some time later**
Violently coughing, drenched and cold is how I wake up. Normally I am not a waking up person, but as the last events dawn on me and the realization that I survived hits me – I am ecstatic to be waking up this time. Not that I feel like doing any happy dances any time soon – my body feels like it has died, got ran over by a truck 10 times and then came back from the dead. Slowly but steadily I open my eyes to take in my surroundings, gods, even the sunlight hurts my eyes right now. I wonder what happened after I passed out. I seem to be lying on some sort of river bank, away from the main stream. Looking back to the main stream, circling back to where I must have came from, I see a massive waterfall of roughly 2,000 ft long. My eyes nearly bulge from my sockets as I take in the waterfall I have dropped from – how the hell did I survive that?! At least I know for sure the rogues didn’t follow me down this way – nobody in their right mind would drop off that willingly (yes – I realize what I have said there, but I didn’t have much of a choice).
Groaning and mumbling profanities to myself, I slowly get up from the sandy wet riverbank. I need to get a move on. The only problem is – I don’t know how far and in which direction I have traveled when unconscious, so I have no clue which direction I was heading in when I got interrupted. I can’t exactly look at the sun to determine direction either, as I have no clue what the time is right now. Only when the sun starts to set will I know, but heck, I am not waiting around here in case the rogues come here to look for me. Slowly getting to my feet I am still wobbling and unsteady, but I grit my teeth and push through as I need to get moving. Luckily, being a wolf I will heal fast. Hopefully, in a few hours I will be as good as new again. After having walked for some time, an uneasy feeling starts to creep up on me, the hairs on the back of my neck start to stand up, and I can’t seem to shake the thought that danger is lurking around. I speed up my pace whilst looking around carefully for any danger, when a scent evades my nose – rogues! By the smell of it, 5 of them. Luckily, none of them smells like the rogue leader, because that wolf was a beast and I probably couldn’t even touch a single hair on his body.
I start running frantically in the other direction from where the rogues are coming, but I can hear their paws hitting the ground and I know it won’t take long for them to catch up to me in their wolf form. So it looks like I will be in for another fight, only this time I am still weak from my little swimming exercise. ‘Lib, do you think we have time to retract your scent and climb up a tree?’ ‘no they are too close already, it’s going to be a heavy fight Lola, I am also still weakened. Fight smart and try to save energy’. As the paw sounds start closing in on me, I see a big sign up ahead in front of me stating “ROYAL KINGDOM – DO NOT TRESPASS. TRESPASSERS WILL BE KILLED ON SIGHT”.
Lola POV
F*******ck!!! The one place I didn’t want to end up! And now I have nowhere else to go as 5 rogues are chasing me right to it. But I can’t cross the border, that is a death sentence on its own. Diverting to the right to walk around the border, I see one of the rogues who was circling me approaching me head on. I don’t even have time to think, I just act on impulse as I jump just as the rogue is about to reach me. With the momentum both of us were carrying, I fly over the rogue and he runs past me before even realizing I had moved. Normally, I would have jumped on top of the rogue to at least land a solid blow, but my weak *ss got the timing all wrong today. And besides, I can’t lose precious time for his other 4 friends to catch up. F*ck this is going to be bad. ‘Just focus Lola! Don’t dwell – focus’ Liberty supports me.
