“Nothing’s wrong,” Isabella started, but Andrew swiftly cut her off.

“What, princess, right? She’s just here to learn about our market. There’s absolutely nothing between us. We don’t even have each other’s contact information.”

Isabella was taken aback. “Princess?”

“Yes, that’s right. She’s Jessica’s sister,” Andrew clarified. “But their statuses are quite different. Jessica is illegitimate, while she’s the legitimate princess.”

Isabella pondered the implications.

Another princess from Aswil.

Andrew watched her nervously, worried she might be upset, but she seemed deep in thought. After a moment, she inquired, “Is she planning some sort of collaboration here?”

“It’s not clear at the moment,” Andrew replied.

“If she has any plans, let me know immediately,” Isabella instructed.

Andrew noticed that Isabella’s focus had shifted. “Why are you so concerned about the princess from Aswil?”

“Serpentine Palers has connections to Aswil. The country is currently divided into two factions: one led by Princess Jessica’s father and the other by the reigning king. I’m unsure which faction Serpentine Palers aligns with.”

“Alright, I understand,” Andrew replied, then cautiously added, “And what about my secretaries…?”

Isabella couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “I’m not that petty.”

“Yes, yes, I admit it was me who was narrow-minded.” Noticing that Isabella’s annoyance had faded, Andrew beamed and wrapped his arms around her, pressing a tender kiss on her cheek.

The air between them transformed, filled with a sweetness that felt almost palpable.

Meanwhile, Maxine and Norton stumbled upon Wesley and Jada.

The two were leisurely strolling hand in hand. The sight of them together took Maxine and Norton by surprise. Wesley and Jada, as a couple, was something neither had expected.

Wesley caught sight of them and raised an eyebrow in surprise, asking, “Norton, aren’t you supposed to be having dinner?”

“And you are…?” Norton frowned, clearly puzzled.

Wesley grasped Jada’s hand and grinned. “I’m with Jada now!”

Jada’s lips curled into a sweet smile, a hint of shyness in her eyes.

Norton felt as though he had been struck by lightning. It wasn’t the age difference that left him reeling; it was the fact that not long ago, Jada had said she had feelings for him, and now she was with Wesley?

The whole situation felt utterly bizarre.

Maxine couldn’t help but sneer. “Jada, you’re quite the model of adaptability, aren’t you? First, you had a crush on Andrew. Then, after he got a girlfriend, you tried to seduce Norton, even sending me photos of the two of you together. And now here you are, cozying up to Wesley. Truly impressive! People like you, with such a knack for adjusting, are a rare breed!”

“Maxine, quit making insinuations about me. I was pressured by my family in the past, but now I can finally chase my true love, and it makes me incredibly happy,” Jada retorted, her gaze softening as she looked at Wesley.

Wesley felt as if he were floating on cloud nine, basking in the warmth of her words. “Maxine, don’t stir things up with my Jada!”

Maxine was left speechless.

It felt painfully awkward to see them together. Jada, however, felt a swell of satisfaction.

She had never considered the option of having Wesley as her boyfriend before—partly due to his youth, since she had never been fond of younger guys, and partly because…

Wesley’s claim to the Lambert Group had seemed uncertain. But now, with Zahir still absent, Clayton had finally handed over the company to Wesley.

The Lambert Group stood second only to the Klein Group! The title of Mrs. Lambert carried far more prestige than that of Mrs. Norton!

Jada shot Maxine a disdainful look. “Maxine, we’ve finally found our way to each other. I trust you won’t try to stir the pot.”

Maxine nearly choked in disbelief.

Who was truly the one stirring up trouble here?

Norton shared her sentiment, his opinion of Jada sinking like a stone. What innocent angel? It was all nonsense! Every move Jada made was a calculated step toward marrying into a more prestigious family!

Despite his frustration, Norton couldn’t help but feel a flicker of sympathy for Wesley, who was blissfully unaware of the situation.

“Wesley, I need to have a word with you.” Norton called out, his tone laced with urgency.

Wesley glanced at Norton and made his way over.

Norton stared hard at Wesley, his voice low but firm. “You do realize Jada used to chase after Andrew, and she recently said she had feelings for me, right? Even knowing this, do you still think she’s the one for you?”

Wesley replied, “Norton, I know all of that, but Jada explained everything. She said her family pressured her into choosing between marrying into the Santos family and the Klein family.”

“She fed me the same line. If she truly cared for you, why didn’t she choose you from the start? When I started dating Maxine, she began meddling, trying to drive a wedge between us.” Norton spoke with genuine concern. “Wesley, she doesn’t truly care about you. She chose you because you’re now the CEO of the Lambert Group, nothing more.”

But Wesley refused to listen.

“Norton, you’re only saying that because you’re siding with Isabella now. I bet you’ve heard plenty of bad things about Jada from her, right? We were always on good terms, but ever since Isabella came into the picture, your relationship with Jada has fallen apart. If I turn my back on her too, Jada won’t have anyone left. I’m all she has.”

Norton found himself utterly speechless.

He felt an undeniable sense of dread.

Jada’s ability to manipulate was something else. Wesley, being young and eager to play the hero, was completely caught in her web. He couldn’t abandon her.

Realizing that arguing further would be pointless, Norton shifted the conversation. “Let’s drop it. But tell me, why did you go against—“

“I never wanted to go against him. But Isabella’s ruining everything. I just hope Andrew realizes she’s a dictator!” Wesley insisted, his voice rising. “If he breaks up with her, I’ll work with him again, no problem. I’ll do whatever he wants!”

“You really are something,” Norton sighed. Wesley saw both him and Andrew as brothers, yet he was so easily blinded by deception.

He asked, “Wesley, do you really think pushing Andrew like this will get you anywhere? Business isn’t a game. And Jada… she’s no saint either. Have we ever gone against you?”

Wesley shot Norton a look of deep disappointment. “Norton, we used to be such good friends. You’re really losing your way. When you look back on this, you’ll regret it.”

Without waiting for a response, Wesley turned on his heel and walked away, unwilling to exchange another word.

Meanwhile, the tension between Maxine and Jada was palpable.

Jada’s eyes sparkled with smug provocation, but Maxine remained cool, utterly unfazed by her attitude.

Jada had expected Maxine to be jealous, thinking she had landed someone better, but to her surprise, Maxine was as calm as ever. It reminded Jada of Isabella’s demeanor.

Annoyed, Jada sneered, “Hmph, only you would value someone like that. If I could have…” she trailed off arrogantly.

Maxine, unfazed, replied, “Yes, you’re truly remarkable. Didn’t I just praise you for that?” Her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Feeling cornered, Jada snapped, “You’re just jealous of me—jealous that Wesley is better than Norton.”

Maxine calmly responded, “Why would I envy someone without a brain? Neither Andrew nor Norton wanted you. Doesn’t that tell you something? Anyone with a bit of sense knows you’re not worth it.”

Maxine remained unfazed as Jada fumed. “Even if you’re with Wesley now, that fool will drive the Lambert family into the ground soon enough.”

“You’re talking nonsense!” Jada shouted. Unable to bear it, she raised her hand, ready to slap Maxine.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Norton, sensing the brewing storm, shouted, his voice filled with anger.

Jada snapped back to reality, retracting her hand and gazing at them with a pitiful expression as she explained, “Maxine said it wouldn’t be long before the Lambert family goes bankrupt, which made me angry.”

“What?” Wesley exclaimed in fury. “Maxine, you wretch…”

Before he could finish, Norton’s fist connected with his face.
