The other wolf quickly snaps around and lunges at me at full speed, whilst the other is still whimpering on the ground. I jump in to the air as high as I possibly can, landing on the wolf’s back and kicking him hard. I jump off before he can snap his head around and take a bite at me. Consumed in his anger, he lunges at me again immediately. This time I use the tree next to me as a slingshot to make some impact and hit him full force on the side, knocking him off his feet. The wolf quickly gets up again, whilst the other wolf has also slowly gotten up and joined his partner. They are both stalking towards me and I have no choice but to back up, contemplating what their next move could be. I decide to push their buttons a bit, hoping it will make them shift back and have the fight be more fair “what’s up f*ckers? You both have to stay in wolf form, as you are too scared to get beaten by a girl in human form?”. Both wolves roar loudly in an attempt to show dominance, but I can tell I have jabbed their human egos as their eyes are going back and forth between black and brown. In a matter of a few seconds, 2 naked men stand in front of me again, looking completely and utterly furious. I really know I shouldn’t, but sometimes I genuinely can’t help myself. Stuff just comes pouring out of my mouth “welcome back buddies. Now show me what you’ve got” I declare with a grin across my face. Liberty actually snorts at me ‘you are something else. You’ll get us killed one day with that mouth of yours’. ‘Not that I could actually help myself – it just slipped out – but the angrier they get, the more focus they lose and it’ll make it easier for me’.
Both of them lunge at me at the same time, both aiming at either arm to try to pin me down and jump on top of me. I manage to knee the right one in his crotch and slam his head down on my knee, leaving him with a bloody face, dropping to the ground in agony. The other, however, sends me down to the ground by slamming into me full force and landing his body on top of mine. Now he is all up in my personal space, I can smell the disgusting rogue scent coming off him and if I weren’t in the middle of a battle it would have me vomiting all over the floor. He quickly pins my arms down to the ground above my head and. While he closes his face down to mine, he says “you don’t have such a big mouth now you little wh*re, do you?”. I try to squirm my way from under him, but I have to admit he is a big guy, and I am running out of options here especially with my hands pinned down. I have had so much training and know so many weak spots, but they are kind of hard to reach without being able to use your limbs. So I decide to go for my last resort, the most painful one I am always reluctant to do, but he leaves me no choice.
I raise my head forward full force, aiming very carefully to not hurt myself as much, slamming my forehead into his face. Instantly causing his nose to break and his blood to come gushing out on top of me. He withdraws his hands from mine to cover his nose and I take this as my que to push him off of me. I don’t waste any more time as these guys aren’t going to stop, and it’s clear to me it will be either them or me. I rush towards him and snap his neck in the blink of an eye, as he thumps to the ground. The other guy looks at me with a shocked expression, before it turns into pure unadulterated rage. He immediately shifts into his wolf and lets out the biggest roar I have heard thus far. If any other rogues are in proximity they will definitely have heard this, and I need to get a move on. Right as the wolf tries to jump at me, he is hit hard from the side by an amber-colored wolf. The amber colored wolf climbs on top of the other and tries to bite down on its neck, but is thrown off before reaching it. The wolf immediately gets upon his feet again and they both start circling each other. I can’t really explain why, but it seems to me like these wolves know each other. I would kind of like to see the outcome of this fight, but as I don’t know what the amber wolf’s intentions are towards me, I will use them distracting each other as a chance to make a run for it. I bolt out of there still hearing the snarls and growls back and forth, before I hear one of the wolves whimpering, followed by the snapping of bones and immediate silence afterward. But I have no time to dwell – I need to keep moving.
Nick POV
Well, today didn’t quite go as planned for me. I was just planning on strolling around a bit, minding my own business, and I ended up killing another wolf from the same army I am supposed to be “working” for. For a she wolf I don’t even know at that. But I couldn’t just let him kill her. Not because she is pretty, I’m not that shallow, but because it’s the right thing to do. Obviously, she hasn’t been on the run that long considering her appearance and clothing and such, she doesn’t know what she has gotten herself into. I do have to think of a way to cover my tracks here though. If the rogue King finds out what happened here, I am a dead wolf. To kill one of the army already is bad, but to know I haven’t brought him this she wolf would be worse. The sadistic f*ck would be sure to make my death painfully slow. As her scent is lingering on one wolf, and mine on the other, there is no other way than to dispose of the bodies. I’m not really keen on digging as it takes a lot of time, so I decide to dump the bodies in a river nearby, which will also help in erasing our scents.
I can’t help but wonder why she didn’t shift though. She was a good fighter in human form, yes. But against 2 rogue wolves, nobody in their right mind wouldn’t shift. A wolf’s strength is more than 4 times the strength in human form. Not to mention she is a female and was facing off 2 males on her own. Slightly feral ones even, which are more unpredictable and thus deadlier. Perhaps she really is that oblivious to the world out here. If she will have any chance of survival, I need to catch up with her and tell her some of the essentials for surviving out here. But first, I have to get rid of these bodies without being seen..
Lola POV
I have been running for the past 2 hours, putting some distance between myself and the rogues, hopefully. It is starting to get dusky and my stomach is growling so hard right now. I really need some food if I don’t want to give away my location loud and clear for all to hear through a growling stomach. But first, I need to find some shelter somewhere. All I have come across in the last hours has been trees, so I guess I have to start making my way up one of the trees for cover. I don’t really have many options other than that. The ground floor is too exposed and dangerous. Up in the trees might not be much better though, as I’ll be stuck if anyone finds me there… ‘Liberty, what should we do?’ ‘climb up this tree just a little bit. Then put some more distance between yourself and this spot. I will retract our scent for a while, so they will think you are in the tree up here. I will keep our scent retracted until you are in another tree as I can’t retract it for too long, it takes up quite a bit of energy and we have already consumed a lot today’ I reply with ‘thank you Liberty, you are the absolute best wolf any girl could wish for’ and start climbing up this tree for just a small bit as she suggested, to then work my way down and walk up head further.
