“Yes, it is,” Isabella replied gently, her smile so radiant it seemed to outshine everything around them. Andrew, unable to resist any longer, pulled her into his arms and kissed her lips—the lips he had been yearning for day and night.

It was a tender and intimate night. They held each other in bed and drifted off to sleep after a long while.

The next day, when Isabella woke up, Andrew was nowhere to be seen. She made her way to the living room and found a note neatly placed on the dining table.

“I’ve gone to work. There’s breakfast on the table. Don’t forget to eat it.”

On the table, there was toast, scrambled eggs, and a glass of milk—everything necessary for a nutritious breakfast.

As Isabella ate her breakfast, she felt a profound sense of happiness. Today, she planned to take the day off and spend quality time with her family.

After breakfast, she headed to the next-door villa. Elaine and Glenn greeted her with warm smiles. “Isabella, you’re here! Have you had breakfast?”

“Yes, I have. Mom and Dad, please go ahead and enjoy your breakfast.”

“Alright. You should rest today. Yesterday was exhausting,” Glenn said.

“Yes, I plan to rest today,” Isabella replied with a smile. At that moment, footsteps echoed from the stairs, and soon, Waylon came bounding down.

He had spent the night mulling over the fact that his friend and his little sister were now together.

“Isabella, when exactly did you and Andrew start dating?” he asked, his voice tinged with distress. He was the one who had introduced them, yet he felt like he was the last to know about their relationship.

Isabella felt a touch of embarrassment and replied, “We’ve been together for a few months now. With you being so busy filming, we just hadn’t had the chance to tell you.”

A sense of neglect washed over him as he processed the news.

“I missed you so much,” Isabella said warmly.

Waylon’s face immediately brightened, and he pulled her into a warm hug, laughing as he said, “I missed you too!”

Watching how Isabella could effortlessly make Waylon happy with just a few words, Elaine shook her head with a knowing smile. Waylon clearly listened to Isabella above all!

After lunch, Isabella decided to visit Howard, with Waylon tagging along. “I wonder if Howard has met anyone suitable at work,” Waylon mused aloud.

Isabella quickly said, “Waylon, don’t bring that up in front of him.”

“Why not?”

Isabella felt momentarily speechless, concerned that Waylon’s carefree personality might lead him to accidentally say something that could unsettle Howard. She quickly gave him a brief rundown of the situation. Waylon was taken aback. So much had happened in the few months he had been away! Not only were Isabella and Andrew together, but Howard had also had a girlfriend and gone through a breakup!

“What is this awful woman? How dare she mess with Howard?”

“She’s out of the picture now, and I don’t really know the details of what happened between them. It’s probably best if we stay out of it,” Isabella said, shaking her head. Waylon calmed down, though the anger still simmered beneath the surface.

At Klein Group, in Howard’s office, Howard was immersed in work while Nalani busied herself making coffee for him.

Seeing the scene, Isabella was astonished. Had Howard started dating Nalani? It made sense now why she had overheard people whispering about them earlier.

“Nalani has liked Mr. Patton for so long. Lately, the vibe between them seems different. Could they be together secretly?”

“I think they are a great match! They complement each other so well.”

When Howard saw Isabella enter, his face brightened with a welcoming smile. He waved Nalani away with a gesture. “What brings you here today, Isabella? Come here. I’ve got snacks and treats ready for you.”

“I didn’t have anything to do today, so I thought I’d come see you,” Isabella said as she settled onto the sofa, her round eyes scanning the room. “Howard, you and Nalani…”

“We’re just friends,” Howard replied, his smile fading.

Waylon sat quietly beside Isabella, too cautious to say a word for fear of upsetting Howard. He contentedly nibbled until, out of the blue, Howard swatted his hand away.

“You’ve gained so much weight, and you’re still munching on all these snacks. When you get back to filming, your agent will definitely put you on an intense weight-loss regimen again!” Howard said, then turned to Isabella with a gentle smile. “But you’re too thin, Isabella. You should eat more. These treats were specially prepared just for you. I hear girls love them.”

Waylon, who was feeling unsettled by the conversation, felt like he was just out of the office.

Isabella took a few bites, savoring the delicious flavors, yet her thoughts lingered on Howard and Nalani. Despite Howard’s insistence that they were merely friends, Isabella couldn’t help but feel concerned but chose not to probe further.

Suddenly, her eyes caught a familiar silhouette in the tree outside the floor-to-ceiling window. Drawn by curiosity, she approached the window, only to find nothing there.

Noticing her movement, Howard inquired, “What’s wrong, Isabella?”

She shook her head. “Nothing. Perhaps I was just mistaken.”

Observing the tree, Howard appeared distant and thoughtful. Curiosity piqued, Isabella asked softly, “Howard, what’s bothering you?”

“Sometimes, I think I see someone in that tree, but it must be my imagination,” Howard replied, his tone tinged with bitterness. Then he lowered his head. His words inadvertently confirmed Isabella’s suspicion that Milly often appeared in that very tree. How was Milly doing now?

The afternoon passed with Isabella staying by Howard’s side. At some point, Nalani returned with a tray of snacks, her demeanor shy.

“Isabella, and this handsome gentleman, please enjoy these. Our company offers plenty of snacks, and if you find yourselves bored, the 8th floor has video games.”

“Thank you. You can go about your business,” Isabella responded politely, noting Howard’s nonchalant acceptance of Nalani’s presence.

Had Howard been moved by Nalani’s efforts?

That evening, the three siblings shopped for dinner ingredients and enjoyed a meal together with their parents, relishing the warm and inviting atmosphere. Isabella captured the moment with a photo and sent it to Andrew.

“Looks great,” Andrew texted back.

“Are you done with work? Join us for dinner,” Isabella invited.

“I might be back late. You should eat without me,” Andrew replied, setting his phone aside. He had the time to return immediately but chose not to disrupt the rare family gathering, not wanting to impose as an outsider.

After completing his work late into the night, Andrew gathered his belongings, slipping into his suit jacket, ready to go. Just then, the office door swung open.

Startled, Andrew wondered if it was his assistant who hadn’t gotten off work yet. However, a graceful woman entered, carrying a box. She was strikingly beautiful and greeted him warmly. Joy lit up Andrew’s eyes at her arrival.

“The chill of the night seemed to dissolve instantly. ‘Why are you here? Weren’t you having dinner with your family?”

“I’ve finished dinner. You’re working late, so I brought you dinner,” Isabella said, sitting at the table and unpacking a hearty meal from the box.

“Thank you, sweetheart,” Andrew said, encircling Isabella with his strong arms from behind, his breath warm against her ear.

A blush crept across Isabella’s cheeks as she urged him, “Hurry up. Did you manage to eat tonight?”

“I was too caught up with work. It’s great you brought food,” Andrew admitted.

Isabella’s expression clouded with concern. “Didn’t I tell you to take better care of yourself? If you keep skipping meals, I’ll be really upset!”

“Got it, sweetheart,” Andrew replied, looking sheepish. He pulled her close on the sofa, promising, “I’ll make sure to eat properly from now on.”

After Andrew finished his meal, they left together. Isabella climbed into Andrew’s Porsche, with him at the wheel. Suddenly, several sports cars whizzed by, blatantly running red lights and nearly colliding with their car.

“These people are reckless! They should keep their racing to designated tracks,” Isabella remarked, watching the sports cars vanish into the night, her annoyance palpable.

“They’re chasing thrills by racing on city roads at night, completely disregarding the safety of others,” Andrew responded indifferently. “Sweetheart, if you ever encounter them, make sure to keep your distance.”

Isabella couldn’t help but think to herself that if she ever met these people, she would definitely give them a piece of her mind. Nevertheless, she obediently replied, “Yes, I won’t do anything dangerous.”

They returned to their respective villas. While applying a facial mask by the window, Isabella’s attention was suddenly caught by a familiar figure stealthily exiting her parents’ villa.

Wasn’t that Waylon? What was he doing out so late at night?

Waylon walked to the parking lot and was about to start his car when he was startled by a figure in front of the vehicle, nearly causing him to slam on the gas in fright. “Isabella, why are you here?” he exclaimed as he got out of the car.

“Waylon, it’s so late. Where are you going?” Isabella asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.

“I’m off to grab a meal with some friends. You should head back and rest,” Waylon replied, awkwardly scratching his head.
