“Murn, then you and dad should hurry up and give me a brother already. I really want a younger brother!” Crystal added happily.

Crystal was different from other children. Other children wouldn’t have liked the idea of having another sibling. Because they would have feared not being loved anymore once the new child arrives. But in crystal’s case, she was really happy.

Crystal’s parents had been seperated for a long time. She really wanted her father and mother to reconcile. In recent years, she didn’t really feel welcomed in either of her parent’s family.

Crystal had a lot of identity crisis. She wanted her parents to reconcile and give birth to another child, so that she would consolidate her position and interests.

Nora nodded lovingly and said to Crystal,

“Crystal, think about yourself, okay? When will you and Deacon get married, and then give birth to a beautiful child? We’re all waiting for our grandchild.”

Crystal’s smile swiftly disappeared. She had even forgotten about Deacon’s physical problem. She replied shyly.

“We will soon, mum.”

The scene was funny to behold. Soon, the entire attention was drawn to Nora and Crystal.

Mrs. Robert who had been silent the entire time pointed to the starry blue dress on Crystal’s body and she asked in surprise,

“Crystal, where did you get that dress from?”

“The dress?” Crystal held her dress and circled like a little princess. She smiled happily and replied,

“Grandma, thank you for the surprise. I really love this dress.”

Mrs. Robert was silent for a while, and then she said,

“Crystal, you’re mistaken. This dress wasn’t prepared for you, and what you’re wearing is a fining sample.”

In tailoring, especially when sewing long dresses, it required lots of tedious steps. Amongst the steps were repeated testing of samples. The fitting samples were all flawed. And the dress on Crystal was just a sample!

Crystal froze on the spot. She looked at Mrs. Robert in disbelief.

“What? Grandma, are you mistaken? You mean that I’m wearing a sample? And besides, if the dress wasn’t meant for me, whom was it prepared for?”

Nora’s expression also changed, and she turned and looked at Mrs. Robert.

“Mum, what’s going on?” She asked confusingly.

Suddenly, the door of the hall was pushed open, and two figures appeared before everyone’s sight. Marvin and Oriana had arrived!

Everyone’s gaze instantly fell on them. Upon seeing the long dress on Oriana, the entire crowd gasped.

Today, Oriana was clothed in the starry, blue dress that Mrs. Robert had given her. The shoulder straps hung on her smooth shoulders, revealing a large area of her delicate beautiful body.

Originally, the fitting sample on Crystal’s body was beautiful. But now that Oriana appeared, they were afraid to compare, but Oriana’s dress was obviously the real deal!

When Nora and Crystal saw the dress on Oriana, their eyes widened in shock. They couldn’t have thought that Oriana would wear the original dress.

Nora and Crystal felt as if a basin of cold water had been poured on them.

Deacon who had stood quietly, not participating in the conversation amongst the ladies, suddenly seemed interested at what was going on the moment Oriana walked through the door.

Even though he knew that Oriana was beautiful. Deacon was still amazed each time he saw her.

However, Deacon’s gaze soon fell on Oriana’s liute hand. Her right hand was intimately wrapped around Marvin’s hand. While watching them, Deacon’s eyes instantly displayed gloom.

Mrs. Robert swiftly stepped forward and extended her hands lovingly to Oriana.

“Oriana, dear, you’re finally here. Grandma has been awaiting you. Come give grandma a hug.” The old lady muttered happily.

Oriana concluded that she couldn’t stop Mrs. Robert from referring to herself as her grandmother, so she moved closer and hugged the old lady lightly.

“I have a present for you.” Oriana whispered into her ears as she disengaged from the hug

“Really? Quickly bring out your gift. I’m so excited to see it!” Mrs. Robert exclaimed ecstatically.

Oriana took out her gift from her bag. It was the earmuff that she had knitted with wool.

It was already late autumn and winter was fast approaching. The earmuff was knitted by Oriana and it was fluffy. It was created to keep the lady warm.

“Mrs. Robert, since you informed me late, I had used the past two days to sew this. Please don’t dislike it.”

Everyone at the party was stunned when Oriana appeared in the authentic starry dress.

Oriana went on to gift the old lady an earmuff as a birthday present.

The gifts that Mrs. Robert had received were expensive Jewelerics and valuables. And Oriana had the guts to give the lady an earmuff.

The audience were certain that Mrs. Robert won’t accept such a cheap gift.

Mrs. Robert looked at the earmuff and quickly accepted it with a smile. But in the next second, Mrs. Robert placed the earmuff on her head and turned around happily.

“Oriana knitted this for me. The earmuff is really warm. Doesn’t it look it good?” Mrs. Robert grabbed the two cars of the earmuffs and made cute poses.

Everyone was shocked. They had thought that the old lady would throw the earmuff into the trash. But instead, she wore it happily.

“Yes, it’s so beautiful.”

“Oriana is really creative.”

“That earmuff is absolutely beautiful!” The crowd instantly pretended to loving the gift.

Nora and Crystal were dumbfounded. Crystal had never been loved by Mrs. Robert. Crystal felt really envious as her grandmother treated Oriana with genuine love.

“Oriana, I really love the birthday present you gave me. I can’t bear to take it off.” Mrs. Robert held Oriana’s hands as she laughed happily.

Oriana didn’t expect Mrs. Robert to like the gift so much. She said sweetly,

Tm glad you like it, Mrs. Robert”

“Oriana, I’m about to make a wish now. Come let’s walk together to the cake stand.” Mrs. Robert quickly pulled Oriana to the cake stand.

Everyone gathered around and surrounded Oriana and Mrs. Robert, as they sang a happy birthday to the old lady. The atmosphere seemed to be a little lively. But Nora and Crystal stood dejectedly at the corner of the hall with no paying them any attention.

Crystal stared at Oriana, who was now surrounded by the crowd. Oriana’s current position was meant to be Crystal’s, but Oriana had stolen it from her.

All the joyous anticipations in Crystal’s heart had disappeared.

Crystal tugged at Nora’s sleeve aggrievedly.

“Murn, why is grandma treating us like this? Isn’t Oriana simply an outsider? She questioned sadly,

Nora clenched her fingers into a fist. The spotlight which was meant for her and Crystal had been sna tched away. She also didn’t understand why Mrs. Robert loved Oriana so much.

“Why was it Oriana?” She questioned inwardly.

Even though Mrs. Robert was always home, Nora didn’t believe that she wasn’t aware of all that was going on between Oriana and the Paulo family.

To Nora, Mrs. Robert’s constant display of love for Oriana was a warning to them. A warning they couldn’t afford to adhere to.

Nora stared at Oriana, her eyes revealing hatred, resentment and disdain.

Mrs. Robert made a wish. Amidst the loud cheers, Mrs. Robert blew out the candles with a broad smile.

The cake was shared by the ushering crew. And then it was time for the dance.

The dance was particularly for young people. Mrs. Robert excused herself and returned to her room.

But when she entered her room, Mrs. Robert realized that someone was already waiting for her. It was Nora.

Nora stood in the dim light and stared at Mrs. Robert.

“Mun…” She called out, as she stepped forward.

“You can excuse me, Okay? I want to rest for a while.” Mrs. Robert muttered tiredly.

Nora didn’t move. She looked at the earmuff that was on Mrs. Robert’s ears.

“Do you really want to recognize Oriana as your granddaughter? Do you know how much this issue hurts Crystal?” Nora questioned calmly.
