Before Crystal could complete her sentence, Deacon had already hung up the call.

Crystal enthusiasm and smile instantly vanished.

Today was the eightieth birthday of Mrs. Robert. The entire Robert family’s home was decorated with colourful lights.

Crystal wore the starry blue dress. As soon as she appeared on the stage, she was surrounded by a lot of her celebrities friends. Everyone stared at her dress with envy and they couldn’t help but reach out to caress the dress. “My Go d, Crystal, your dress is so beautiful!”

“The designs are absolutely amazing!”

“Your grandma really loves you, Crystal!*

“You’re the little princess of the Robert family! I’m so envious!” The celebrities expressed their admiration.

Now that she was the center of everyone’s attention, Crystal smiled happily. She had grown up in the spotlight, hence the praises and admiration weren’t new to her.

Infact, as the only child of Damien Robert, the richest man in Canada, Crystal was respected across the country. Just like the Rabert’s family, Alpha Armstead also had few children, but in Alpha’s case, his two children were male.

It was speculated that the reason Damien Robert even had a daughter was because Nura had climbed onto his bed and slept with him while he was drunk and had gotten pregnant for him.

However, Nora couldn’t retain Damien’s heart and they had been separated soon after they got married.

A man like Damien definitely didn’t lack women. Having only one child was obviously what he wanted. Crystal smiled proudly at the girls who hovered around her. She was the star, and no one could compete with her, not even Oriana.

Not long ago, there had been rumors that Mrs. Robert wanted recognizing Oriana as her granddaughter.

The celebrities seemed to be have remembered the incident, as one of them said,

“That Oriana was really something. She thought she could confuse your grandma. She wanted to be the granddaughter of the Robert family without looking in the mirror. How could she even dream of that?”

*I think your grandma was just bewitched by her at that time. It’s obvious that the old lady loves you the most.” Another added.

Crystal was very satisfied with all the flattery that celebrities showered on her. She was only warming up in preparation of how she would humiliate Oriana once she arrived.

Crystal glanced at the wall clock. Deacon should have arrived already.

One of the celebrities noticed her nervousness, and then asked.

“Crystal, are you waiting for president Armstead?”

“That’s true, why hasn’t president Armstead arrived yet?”

“I think he’s probably stuck in traffic.”

As the female celebrities discussed amongst themselves, the hall door was pushed opened and a tall and handsome figure appeared before them.

Deacon had arrived!

Today, Deacon was wearing a black suit. The suit was well ironed without the slightest creases. Deacon exuded an indescribable masculine charm, and that made him the center of attention immediately he surfaced. He was also the best looking man.

Deacon lifted his long legs and walked in. The crowd automatically gave way. The dazzlingly bright lights were plated on his handsome face.

“It’s Mr. Armstead!” The ladies gasped in astonishment.

Crystal perfectly understood the reason behind reaction of the celebrities. Deacon was expensive and mysterious. He was the dream of every woman.

Deacon had halted in the center of the bright lights. He was surrounded by a group of high-class CEOs. Everyone greeted and chatted with him. His aura was calm and indifferent.

Crystal felt very satisfied. She had conquered the most sought after man. That made her very proud.

Being able to marry Deacon and become his wife was probably something that Crystal would be proud of for the rest of her life.

Crystal quickly touched her perfectly straightened hair, when she was convinced that she looked perfect, she grabbed her dress and headed to Deacon with the most perfect posture.

Once she reached Deacon, Crystal raised her hand and held onto Deacon’s shoulder soothingly.

“You look ravishing, Miss Robert.”

“President Armstead and Miss Robert, you two look perfect together.”

“Hopefully the next wine that we’ll drink will be the wine of your wedding.” The rich bosses praise

Crystal’s beautiful face had blushed in a smile. She turned her face shyly and looked at Deacon.

But he wasn’t looking at her. Since he came in, he hadn’t even spared her a glance.

Crystal stiffened. She could sense his absent-mindedness. She wondered who he was searching for.

“Could it be Oriana?” She thought.

Crystal suddenly remembered that when she had called him the other day, he had originally told her that he didn’t have the time. At that time, she had thought that his change of mind was because of her little attitude, but looking at it now, she was afraid that she had gotten the wrong impression.

She realized that he had turned up because she told that Marvin would be bringing Oriana to the party.

It meant that Deacon had come to the party for Oriana. Crystal was shocked by her realization.

Mrs. Robert suddenly walked out of the door, and Nora, her daughter in law, helped her walk into the stage. Everyone quickly rushed up to wish the old lady a happy birthday.

“Deacon, let’s go and congratulate grandma too.” Crystal pulled Deacon forward.

Deacon’s face was expressionless. His lips were slightly pursed. He was uninterested in all that was going on.

He used his eyes to search around, but he couldn’t find Oriana. She hadn’t arrived yet.

“I wish you the very best, Mrs. Robert. I pray that the creator grants you all your hear desires.”

“This is an artifact. I bought it when I was in Somalia. I hope you like it.’

Everyone rushed forward to give Mrs. Robert the gifts they had come with. In no time, where Mrs. Robert stood was piled up with gifts.

Mrs. Robert was elighted by the massive show of love from her family and friends.

“Thank you very much for all your gifts and kind wishes, I really do appreciate. Thank you very much.” Mrs. Robert expressed her gratitude.

Today, Nora was clothed in a long, black dress and wore a light makeup on her face. She was charming and elegant. She stood beside Mrs. Robert and instructed her ser vants on where to take the gifts to.

“Hello. Nora. I haven’t seen you for a while. You are really getting younger. You don’t look like you’re Crystal mother at all You haven’t aged one bit.

“Mrs. Robert, you have such a capable daughter-in-law. In the future, you can be rest assured that your daughter-in-law would take care of the family.” Mrs. Robert’s friend praised Nora.

Nora’s face wore a gentle smile. She was used to hearing flattering words. She secretly glanced at Mrs. Robert who smiled back at her.

“Nora, is Mr. Damien back today? We haven’t seen him in a while.” Someone suddenly asked.

Nora’s heart ski pped a beat when she heard the questioned. She was already in her forties and she didn’t expect to be that nervous at mention of Damien’s name.

“Damien has been very busy recently. He won’t be able to attend the party tonight unfortunately. She replied cheerfully.

“Nora, you have only one daughter. Since you’re still young. I’d advise you hurry up and give your husband a son.” The lady teased playfully, and everyone laughed at her joke.

Nora smiled lightly at the joke, but in her heart, she felt very sad.

Wealthy families valued their children and bloodline the most. The four major families in Imperial had sons who would inherit their family’s wealth. But Damien Robert only had one daughter.

Nora didn’t feel so secure about not having a son, and that had always been a thing of sadness to her.

Nora wanted giving Damien a son in order to secure her position, but she rarely even saw Damien, and that made her dreams futile.

Nora was very strong. Just like her father Mr. Paulo, she didn’t want others to see through her predicament, so she quickly laughed and replied.

Having another child is already in our plan. We’ll have another child once we’re ready. Thank you all for your concern.

Crystal had arrived with Deacon, so she asked her mother,

“Mum, what are you guys talking about? You all seem to be having a good time.”

“Miss Crystal, we were discussing with your mother, and she was telling us that you’ll have a brother soon.” The lady replied.

“Really?” Crystal’s questioned in excitement.
