Angelina instructed Bryan to bring Sophia to the forest under the moonlight.

Bryan carried Sophia to the forest. He laid her near a lake where the moon could be easily seen.

Surprisingly, the moon was so bright today, as if it were glowing to save its moonchild.

Angelina closed her eyes and started to chant spells that could help Sophia’s wolf connect with her.

Bryan stared at Sophia. She had a white quilt covering her body, and it was glowing in the moonlight. People would have thought she had become ugly because of her black bloodline, but in his eyes, she was still the most beautiful girl in the world.

When Angelina’s voice became louder, he shifted her gaze at her. He noticed that her nose was bleeding.

When she stopped, he returned his gaze to Sophia.

He felt relieved when he noticed that all of her black veins were slowly fading from her body.

But his heart froze when he could not hear her heartbeat.

Angelina opened her eyes and looked at Sophia with shock. She began to shake Sophia.

“Sophia?”

On the other hand, Sophia did not open her eyes, looking like her body was slowly leaning toward death.

Bryan’s entire body shook as he lifted her head, placed it on his lap, and hugged her.

“Please don’t die. I don’t want to live without you.”

Angelina burst into tears when she realized she had not saved Sophia. She had just attempted to communicate with her wolf, which had been harmed by the poison and had received the effect of Bryan’s mark. It was the only way to keep her alive. But she failed to do so.

She had never seen her Alpha break down like that. Years of her spells and experiments were in vain.

Meanwhile, Bryan blamed himself. He killed his mate.

He was about to move from Sophia to howl in the pain that he was feeling in his heart.

But before he could move, he felt a soft touch on the back.

He was surprised to realize it was Sophia’s touch.

He moved his head from her neck and looked at her.

Sophia slowly opened her eyes. It was glowing ocean blue. Her pale face started to transform into beauty.

Her skin shone in the moonlight, and she blinked her eyes.

Her eyes caught Angelina, who looked shocked.

She then turned her gaze to the man who was holding her in his arms. His red eyes met hers, and a smile appeared on her lips.

She reached her hand up to his cheek and wiped the tear that was rolling down his cheek.

“Mate, why are you crying?”

Bryan shut his eyes and hugged her tightly.

“I thought you…”

Sophia shook her head and replied,

“I told you I would not die for your mark. The moon goddess loves you. She does not like seeing you in pain. She gave me back my life for you.”

END OF THE FLASHBACK

Victor shook his head in disbelief. “No, it’s impossible!”

Abraham’s eyes lit up. Her sister was there, looking fine. Not only had Bryan marked Sophia, but his sister was still alive after getting the mark. There was no other word to describe it other than a miracle.

Victor turned to Bryan and asked,

“How did you do that? How could you mark her? How is she still alive?”

Bryan shifted his gaze from Sophia to Victor. His lips parted as his canines emerged. Almost as if he were smirking at him, his eyes displaying a mocking expression.

He opened his mind to link everyone around him and replied to Victor,

“Checkmate.”

Victor tightened his fists, realizing that his plan had gone awry.

“Kill her,” he ordered to his other officials, who were behind him.

Two of his officials ran toward Sophia and jumped on her to attack. Victor noticed Bryan did not make a move to save her. It was as if he knew that even without shifting into her wolf form, she could defend herself.

Sophia did not take a step back; instead, she charged at the two wolves, wounding them with the other two stakes in her hand. Victor realized that she was holding silver stakes.

He looked at his officials, who were lying on the ground, trying to breathe in pain.

The war continued as everyone became involved in the fighting.

Everyone was astounded by how quickly she moved her hands to wound the two powerful official wolves.

Victor growled in anger. “How dare yo “

Sophia cut him off and said,

“How dare you play with other people’s lives? You are a cowardly man who has ruined the lives of countless girls. You dared to poison me. What did you think? I am a weak omega who will die in your conspiracy. You are a filthy bastard.”

Victor’s rage grew stronger as he tilted his head, preparing to shift.

“Don’t let him shift,” Bryan said to Sophia.

She immediately threw another stake toward Victor, this time on his leg.

He let out a painful groan. He got so mad at her that he rushed toward her to attack her.

But he froze in the middle of the way when her eyes turned ocean blue.

He felt her eyes were doing something with his mind.

“What are you doing?” he asked, trying to move.

It was as though her eyes had the ability to make him unmoved. He felt trapped in that place.

Sophia walked toward him with a smirk. “Why are you so scared? Oh, wait. I remember people telling me about how you escaped from the last war to save your life. At least you should get some balls to shift before entering a war.”

Victor tried to move, but when Sophia came to a stop in front of him, her eyes moved behind him.

The wolves, who had only worked to protect Victor, tried to move toward her. But her eyes stopped them as well.

They collapsed to the ground in agony, despite not being physically injured.

“What are you doing to my men?” Victor asked, growling at her.

As soon as he realized he was moving, he grabbed Sophia’s neck and pushed her back against a tree.

Bryan let out a deep growl that rattled the wolves around him. He dashed toward Sophia, pushing the wolves out of his sight.

Bruce also tried to reach her but was stopped by his own pack fighters.

Bryan bit Victor’s leg and was about to tear it off his body, but Sophia stopped him by saying,

“Don’t. He is my prey.”

Victor’s hand trembled with her words. “Have you lost your mind? You are talking to an Alpha, a head Alpha. Do you know that?”

Sophia spit on him and replied,

“I am talking to a shameless asshole who only knows how to use girls with his friends and then throw them to death. A man like you should not exist.”

Victor released his grip on her neck and wiped his face in a furious manner. He had never before experienced such a level of disrespect from another person.

He still believed he would win the war. In fact, how would they defeat him? Their pack fighters were fighting for him.
