Bruce felt upset. His brother loved him a lot. He realized it when he stepped down from his position and handed the whole pack to him. He could have had an heir and secured the pack for himself, or he could have marked another woman to change the council’s objection.
He understood the love his brother had for Sophia. At the same time, Bryan loved his family as well. He told his officials to shield Bruce like a shadow.
Bruce stormed out of the meeting hall in a rage.
He was walking down an empty hallway when his steps came to an abrupt halt. He saw the woman who was his mate now.
Mila was looking outside the house while leaning against a wall.
When he walked toward her, he saw her eyes on the cars leaving the pack house.
“Mila,” he muttered in a low voice.
Mila let out a deep breath and turned her head toward him.
He noticed her upset eyes, and he felt a pang in his heart.
He did not know why he was feeling for this woman these days.
He used to refer to her as her “sister-in-law” and never thought of her in any other motive. But from the night he marked her, his wolf connected with hers. He started to feel strange for her.
He used to love Sophia, but there was something missing in his heart. But after marking Mila, he felt that she filled the space in his heart.
Fate always had a different plan for him. It looked like he and his brother were always with the wrong women.
“They cheated us. I think they are with Victor. Trust me, Bruce,” Mila said in a soft tone.
It was her request to Bruce that he ban Victor from this pack. He had promised her that he would try his best. But he failed to fulfill his promise.
“I am sorry,” Bruce replied while looking at her carefully.
Within weeks, she had changed. She never mentioned anything that would make Bruce feel guilty about the marking. However, she never attempted to approach him either.
“It’s okay. “I need to be a strong Luna to face that kind of devil,” she said, turning away.
She was about to start walking when Bruce grabbed her hand to stop her.
She turned to face him.
Bruce moved toward her. She was taken aback by the closeness.
She tried to step back, but he held her waist and pulled her close to him.
She gulped. “What happened to yo…”
He cut her off by placing his finger on her lips. She froze at the touch as her body felt the electrifying feeling of the matebond.
He removed his finger and looked into her eyes.
“I know many things have happened in our lives. My situation is not different from yours, Mila. I am heartbroken, and you are too. But it was not their faults but our fate’s plan,” Bruce said.
Mila lowered her head, but he placed his finger under her chin, making her look at him once again.
Mila stared at him. She also began to feel the same as him.
Bruce leaned down, which caused her to close her eyes.
As soon as Bruce’s lips made contact with hers, she kissed him back without hesitation.
He smiled at the kiss and kissed her deeply.
When they broke the kiss, they looked into each other.
“Mila? Let’s accept each other in our hearts. Life will be easy for us.”
Mila’s eyes became blurry as she stared at the man, who was her mate. She was running after Bryan for a long time, but he never glanced at her like that. She was hungry for love for a man who would protect her with love, not like a burden. She finally found the man.
She nodded her head with a smile and replied,
“Yes, you are right. We should feel the bond and trust our fate.”
It was late at night.
Bryan had not returned home yet. Sophia was walking back and forth in the house while glancing at the door.
She shook her head when she saw that it was past eleven.
“No. I have to go out. Why is he not back yet?”
Sophia left the house and began to search for Bryan.
It had been almost one month since they came here and started to live. But Bryan had never returned home this late. So she was worried for him.
The day after tomorrow was the crown ceremony for the new Alpha of the Night Shade Pack. So she had to pack her bags too. After such a long time, they were going back to the pack house.
She was happy that she was going to meet her family again. The whole month went really well.
Bryan was with her all the time, and whenever he wanted, he went to the forest to run to feel the refreshing air or the moonlight.
Tonight seemed different to Sophia.
She did not know why, but she was not feeling well.
The whole month, she tried her best to make Bryan mark her. She didn’t want him to step down from his position. Even if it meant letting go of her life, she wanted to give up on Bryan. She did not want to see anyone else in his place.
But every time she tried to get close to him, he thought she desired to have sex. They ended up making up, and he gave her pleasure. He always said that he was afraid that the intimacy could take her life.

Sophia called his name while looking around.
He was nowhere to be found. She bit her bottom lip, not knowing where to search for him.
She started to feel concerned about him.

She immediately tilted her head as if avoiding something, and a second later, a wooden stake pierced a tree.
She looked at the stake, and her eyes shone ocean blue. She made her way to the stake and pulled it out.
She threw it to the person in front of her after turning around.
But her eyes widened when he did not move to dodge it.
“Bryan!”
She screamed in fear.
Just as it was about to hit Bryan’s forehead, he grabbed it with his hand and smirked at her.
“Not bad. The perfect target, huh?”
Sophia stared at him for a while. She walked up to him and pushed against his chest.
“How dare you make me scared like this? I will kill you today,” she said.
“Let’s see who will kill whom,” he replied without removing his smirk.
They began to fight like enemies; however, it was just a cute fight between two lovers.
The way Sophia was moving her hands and legs, she looked like a perfect fighter.
It was because Alpha Bryan had trained her himself. Even if she was attacked, she would not have to shift, and she would undoubtedly kill the person.
Bryan grabbed her waist and pulled her against his chest. His other hand slowly brushed her upper thigh.
He leaned in her ear and whispered,
“If you keep moving your body in this short dress, how can I concentrate my mind on the fight, baby girl?”
She blushed and shoved him. “You made me worry about you. I was scared. Where were you?”
“I was just roaming around,” he muttered.
Sophia looked at him carefully. She stepped forward and kissed his cheek.
