Filed To Story: Returning to Her Not-So-Poor Family
He had only brought Carl with him tonight and was short on manpower.
Erlinda readily agreed, “No problem, use as you wish.”
Romeo spoke coldly, without any unnecessary words, “Take them away, give them a beating.”
Carl stepped forward, grabbing Demetrius’s arm first.
Erlinda waved her hand, and several bodyguards stepped forward to grab the others.
“Mr. McMillian, is there a misunderstanding? We have nothing to do with tonight’s incident.”
“It was clearly the Panter boy who touched Mirabella, and we didn’t do anything. Please let us go, let us go.”
“Sis, can you say something, sis?”
The sound of Yolanda’s voice annoyed Mirabella. Seeing her discomfort, Romeo added, “That woman, while she’s still young, should be taught a lesson.” Mirabella was somewhat surprised, not expecting Romeo to pick up on her mood, and even instructed for Yolanda to be beaten more.
The guests were shocked, not expecting to see such dramatic events at tonight’s charity gala.
As the Melton family was taken away, Erlinda stepped onto the center stage, revealing the charming smile of a mature woman, “I declare, tonight’s charity dinner has come to a perfect end. Thank you all for your participation!”
A perfect end?
All the guests were once again taken aback, chiming in:
“Absolutely, the event was a smashing success. If anyone asks tomorrow, I’ll tell them the donation segment tonight was unforgettable.”
“Indeed, the Melton family are as tight as a drum, and I must spread the word about this.”
“Nothing else noteworthy happened, right?”
“My memory is stuck at the donation part.”
“Same here.”
“I’ve had quite a bit to drink tonight. probably won’t remember anything tomorrow.“”
Erlinda watched as they each tried to cover their own backs and said with a smile, “I won’t see you out then.”
“Goodbye, Ms. Archer.”
“Goodbye.”
At this time, screams came from the Meltons in the back garden, but the other guests seemed not to hear. They were busy cracking jokes and leaving the front garden without a glance in the direction of the Meltons‘ trouble!
‘Mirabella, is this your fiancé?” Erlinda reached out to shake hands with Romeo, flashing a triumphant smile, “Can’t believe this lad is my niece’s fiancé!”
“Pleased to meet you, Auntie.”
“You’ve got good manners, lad! I don’t feel odd when Mirabella calls me auntie, but somehow, when you call me that, I feel I’ve aged a few years!”
“Auntie, you’re as radiant as ever. You’ve not aged a bit.”
“Did you sweet–talk my Mirabella into being with you?” Erlinda joked, then turned to Mirabella, “I’m looking forward to your wedding.”
That was her stamp of approval!
“Not so soon.” Mirabella didn’t reject the idea, which surprised Erlinda.
“We’ve caused some trouble for Ms. Archer tonight.” Kenneth didn’t expect the charity dinner to turn out like this.
“Isn’t it because it’s my turf that I could stand up for Mirabella? I’ve been wanting to teach them a lesson, and it’s a relief that the Panter lad beat me to it.”
“We’ll visit again when we get the chance.” Louisa hugged Erlinda warmly, “Feel free to drop by our place too.”
“I’ll definitely come once I find the time.” Erlinda hugged back, then hugged Mirabella.
“Don’t be too hard on those three,” Mirabella warned not to kill them.
“Don’t worry, I’ll leave them breathing! I’d love to see them go bankrupt, and it’ll be fun.”
Seeing Erlinda’s excited face, Mirabella couldn’t help but laugh, “We’ll be going now.”
“Do visit me when you have time!” Erlinda couldn’t help but nag, “Maybe you could call me once in a while; don’t leave it all to me.”
“Got it.”
“Drive safe on your way back.”
As Erlinda saw them at the door, Louisa suddenly said, “Oh, I just remembered I have some work to do. Bella, you go back with Romeo. The chef’s not feeling well tonight, and no one prepared supper. You guys can grab something to eat wherever you like.”
Mirabella was speechless; wasn’t the implication too obvious?
Wasn’t this just a ploy to let them spend more time together, have dinner, and then go home?
“I’ll take good care of Bella.” Romeo was the first to respond.
On the other side.
The house where Demetrius used to live had been sold.
Right next to the old house was a villa owned by an old lady.
Before Olga went to a charity dinner, she had the nanny at home pick the lock of the old lady’s villa and moved in directly.
Otherwise, it’s not sustainable for their family of three and four or five nannies to live in a hotel every day!
Not long after the four or five nannies moved into the new house, a plainly dressed woman suddenly showed up at the villa where Demetrius used to live. When she found out Demetrius had moved next door, she found the villa next door.
One of the nannies frowned immediately when she saw her and said, “You again? Didn’t I tell you not to come here?”
“I heard Yoli’s engagement party is in a few days.”
The woman spoke humbly, but before she could finish, the nanny rolled her eyes and said, “What’s Yoli’s engagement party got to do with you? Take a look at your own behavior! The Melton family definitely won’t invite you! If you don’t leave, we’re going to call security!”
At these words, a hint of loss flashed in the woman’s eyes, and she quickly explained, “I’m not trying to attend the engagement party.”
Just then, a van drove up quickly and stopped outside the Melton family’s house.
Before the nanny and the woman could react, they saw Demetrius, Olga, and Yolanda being thrown out of the car.
The van zoomed away like the wind.
The three who were thrown out were all tied up, their faces bruised and battered, and their mouths stuffed with stinky socks.
The nanny stared at this for two seconds before reacting. She yelled, “Master, madam, miss! What happened to you guys? Help! Master, madam, miss are hurt! Get them inside!”
“Yoli? How did you end up like this?” The woman standing outside rushed over to untie Yolanda.
But Yolanda pushed her away, “What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you to stay away from me?”
“Yoli, I just wanted to,”
Before the woman could finish, Yolanda impatiently interrupted her, “You are not my mom! This is my mom! Mom, are you okay? Did you get hurt?”
Yvonne felt very upset.
Olga was helped up by the servants, and as soon as the ropes on her were untied, she slapped the woman.
“I gave you money before, and you didn’t want it. Now you regret it and come back to us?”
Olga didn’t wait for her to answer and started mocking her, “You heard about us spending 1.2 billion US dollars on land today, didn’t you? Now that you know we’re rich, you want to raise your price?”
The nanny beside them glanced at Yvonne and added coldly, “Madam, she also mentioned Yoli’s engagement party.”
“Humph, don’t tell me you want to attend Yoli’s engagement party as her mother? Forget it!”
Watching Olga’s haughty demeanor, Yvonne handed her what she was holding in her arms, enduring the humiliation, and said, “Yoli, I heard you’re getting engaged. This is my engagement gift for you.”
Yolanda frowned when she heard this, and it was clear she knew the shabby bag Yvonne was holding was not anything good.
