She was struck by the man’s perfection. The veins on his hands became visible as the sleeves were rolled up. When he went back to the kitchen, she turned away from him.

He was so attractive that any woman would struggle to look away from him.

His scent made it really hard for Sophia to calm herself in that wooden house. It looked like nature was trying to push her toward his scent.

She looked over at Bryan and was surprised to see him wearing the apron.

“What are you doing?”

“Since you don’t want to cook for me, let me cook for you.”

She parted her lips. She was perplexed about why Bryan was doing that.

But then it dawned on her. He was doing all these things to make her get back to him and call off the wedding.

She scoffed in her head and walked to a couch. She observed him while sitting on the couch.

She realized he was a perfectionist. The way he was cooking, it was like she was watching a cooking show and a handsome chef was cooking on the screen.

After a while, she began to use her phone. She checked her inbox. She glanced at the convention she had with Victor the whole week.

She asked many questions. He only told her one thing at a time, and that was,

“I will reply to all of your questions when I am back, but for now, just stay away from Bryan Morrison.”

She tried her best the whole week to stay away from Bryan, but her study was something she could not leave. She believed she could protect herself, and she should not be afraid of Brayn.

“Lunch is ready. Come, let’s eat together.”

She heard Bryan’s voice. She raised her gaze from her phone and saw Bryan setting the round wooden table with the dishes. He pulled a chair for her and waited for her to come.

She placed the phone on the couch and moved toward the table.

She sat on the other chair instead of the one he was holding.

Bryan did not say anything about it and sat on the chair he had just pulled out for her.

When Sophia looked at the food, she was surprised. He had prepared her favorite dishes. She tried to ignore the fact and started eating quietly.

She just wanted to get through the day quickly so she could go back.

She was surprised that Bryan was really a good cook. She glanced at him when he put food on her plate.

“Eat more. You need to gain more strength if you want to be my enemy.”

His taunt did not make her feel angry. She continued eating, and when she was finished, she went to wash her plate. She did not want him to do anything for her.

When she was wiping her hands with a towel, she heard him from behind.

“See? You trust me a lot. Otherwise, why would you eat the food I cook for you? I could mix poison in your food, too.”

She paused as she wondered why this thing had not come to her mind. Did she still trust him?

She shook her head as she said to herself, “No, I can’t. Was Victor right? Is he melting my heart by doing these things? How ridiculous am I? I can not let my guard down around him.’

“I want to leave this place right now,” she stated, turning to him.

Seeing that he was doing dishes, she waited for him to reply. She saw how calmly he was doing everything, as if he had a habit of staying here.

She wondered if he stayed here often.

She realized that this man had something in his head. That was the reason he brought her here.

She did not wait for his reply anymore as she went to the couch and grabbed her phone, then put it in her bag. She walked to the door and said,

“I am leaving.”

But his voice reached her ears and stopped her.

“Wait.”

When she turned around, she noticed him looking at her with a puzzled expression.

“What’s the big rush? You haven’t looked at the beauty upstairs. Let’s go there.”

Saying that, he made his way to the wooden staircase.

“I don’t need to. I’m not here on vacation.”

“Remember that your one day is not over.”

She stomped her leg on the wooden floor and strolled behind him.

When she entered the large bedroom, she noticed a beautiful balcony attached to it. She did not notice that when she saw the house from the outside. She pondered whether it was visible from the house’s back.

She was surprised by the seating arrangements there.

Bryan opened the glass door of the balcony, and she stepped onto the balcony.

When he was about to enter, she turned to the door and locked it from outside. When she saw him look dumbfounded, she burst out laughing.

“You are not coming outside. Let me enjoy my time alone.”

He knocked on the door, saying,

“This is not fair. Open the door.”

She sneered at him. “I would rather stay here alone than spend time with you. My fianc?? told me to keep my distance from you. I am just listening to him. Sorry, Alpha.”

After that, she went to sit in the hanging swing chair. She stared at the forest view.

Though she looked bold from outside, she was broke from inside. She was clueless as to why she was experiencing all of this.

She hated the man who was looking at her from inside the room. She used to love him deeply, but he rejected her heart, even though she was his mate. Now, when she was trying to move on with someone else, he was trying to stop her from every side. She laughed at the thought that he was doing all this not to win her heart but to get her to cancel the wedding.

“I will never cancel the wedding,” she muttered to herself as she looked at the dark green trees.

She was unaware of how quickly time had gone by. When she took a quick look at her phone, she saw that she had been there for hours.

She turned around and peered into the room. She did not look at the room carefully before coming to the balcony. It was an absolutely stunning bedroom. It was best to live here. But it was far from the town so it was not possible to live here in loneliness.

When her gaze shifted to the other side of the room, she gasped.

On the couch, Bryan was smoking while staring at her. She looked away from him immediately.

She considered spending a long time on the balcony.

“He said one day. How could I give him one day? Did he plan something?’ she thought as her eyes widened.

She did not want to sleep with him. She believed he planned to do that. Otherwise, why did he bring her to a place where they were alone?

She felt disgusted by his cheap mentality. Did he think that having sex would make her cancel the wedding?

As time passed, the sky slowly became darker. She was feeling bored. How long would she have to stay there?

She walked to the railing and gazed up at the beautiful moon in the sky.

She was captivated by the moon’s beauty. She did not know how she would pass her days in the future. Everything was tearing her apart inside.

All of a sudden, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist.

She gasped when Bryan rested his head on her neck.

“H-How did you come? I made sure the door was locked.”

He chuckled at her surprised expression and muttered in her ear,

“This is my house, baby girl. I have the keys to every lock.”

She was taken aback. If he had the key, why did he not come at that time?

She tried to break free and asked, “So you pretended you could not get inside?”

He responded by nuzzling his nose against her neck. It made her tighten her grip on the railing.

“I don’t want to disturb your alone time when you asked me for it. Watching you from afar is my favorite thing to do, by the way.”

She bit her bottom lip as he tried to seduce her with his actions. She turned around and tried to push him. But he did not move a little bit.
