Zane didn’t flinch. His voice stayed calm, but I knew him well enough to hear the weight behind it. “I’m serious.”

She rolled her eyes. “Yeah, yeah. I got it, lover boy. “Touch her and die.’ Heard it before. Now sit down and try not to breathe too loud while I work.”

Zane hesitated for a second, then looked back at me. His eyes. were dark, full of worries he wasn’t voicing.

I could feel his emotions pulsing inside my chest. His fear. His uneasiness.

I nodded at him once, because I knew he was about to object again.

-LIA’S POV-

Sapphire wiped her hands on her jeans and looked at me. “I’m going to open a magical channel between you and the rest of the town. Everyone will hear you-not just the old Order members.

My stomach twisted. “Everyone? Why?”

“Yes, everyone. Because there is no way to target just them. I don’t know who they are and where they are. So the quickest way to get to most of them is by targeting the entire town.”

Zane and Warner exchanged glances, and then looked at me and Sapphire respectively.

She continued, “You need to be very careful with what you say. Precise words, clear intention. This isn’t just a message-you’re overriding your previous command. If you’re vague, it won’t work. If you mess up the wording, it might affect people who weren’t supposed to be part of it.”

I slowly nodded, trying not to let the panic show on my face.

Blood trickled down my nose again, and I tried to wipe it off before Zane would notice.

His jaw clenched though, making it clear that he saw anyway.

“You also can’t say anything that might bring the Order back together. They can’t begin thinking it’s okay to attack werewolves again. Recove

I… could have siblings?

I just didn’t remember?

Goddess…

“Okay,” I whispered, taking a deep breath. “We don’t have time to waste. I know what I wanna do. Exactly what I want to say. Let’s go, Sapphire.”

Zane crouched down beside me with a frown. “Lia, are you sure? You wanna discuss it?”

“She shouldn’t,” Sapphire cut in. “You should hear it only when she actually gives the command.”

Zane scowled at her. “It feels like you’re just doing this to annoy me.”

Sapphire chuckled. “I have better things to do, darling.”

He turned to me again, cupping my cheeks. “Lia, please be careful. Don’t say anything that might change us. That might change our love or our memories together. I want to remember that you saved my life.”

“I know,” I reassured, gently taking his wrists. “I know what I’m doing, Zane. Don’t worry. Trust me.”

His blue eyes stared into mine for a long moment, after which he kissed my forehead and my lips, and then pulled away. glanced at Sapphire, giving her a nod.

-LIA’S POV-

Sapphire crouched in front of me, sleeves rolled up, hair tied back, a faint glow already gathering around her fingers.

“Stay still,” she murmured. “This won’t hurt. Much.”

Zane stood just behind her, tense, watching her every move carefully. His heart raced enough for me to hear, and worry rolled off of him in waves that pressed down on me. Warner hovered nearby too, arms crossed, jaw tight. No one had spoken since I agreed to do this. No one dared.

My hands were cold. Not from fear. Just the burden of everything.

I had done this.

I was the one who had cursed them.

Whatever this was now, it had started with me.

And only I’d end it.

“Your blood’s already responding,” Sapphire muttered, brushing her thumb across the dried trail under my nose. “I just need a small cut. It’ll anchor the spell. Your body has to be the channel.”

I gave a short nod, ignoring the nervous twist in my stomach.

Fear lingered in my chest like a ghost, but I didn’t voice it.

I had to appear confident. Calm. In control.

Sapphire lifted a curved blade-thin and silver-and gently pressed it to the inside of my palm. The sting was sharp, but I didn’t flinch. She caught a few drops in a tiny glass dish filled with something glowing and blue, then smeared the rest across a stone she’d drawn runes on earlier. The air shifted immediately-like the wind had changed direction inside the room.

A hum built in my ears. Magic. Old and harsh and impatient.

“You’re live,” Sapphire said, standing. Her voice was quiet, but final. “They’ll all hear you now. Everyone in town. Not just the Order-but your words will affect them most. Choose carefully.”

I froze.

My mind blanked for a second.

Then, slowly, memories began to bleed in. The way the Order had attacked the pack house. How they had almost killed me. How Za?e had stepped in front of me. How they shot him like it was nothing. How his body had collapsed, lifeless in the dirt. How I thought I was choosing mercy, not war, when I gave the command.

I looked down at my hand. Blood still trailed down my wrist, warm and sticky.

This was mine to fix.

So I took a breath.

And spoke.

“I take back what I said,” I said softly, and felt my voice carry for miles. Zane, Sapphire and Warner tensed, almost freezing. “The members of The Order are no longer bound by my previous command, the one I gave on the night of the Blood Moon. You are all free now. Free from the curse, free from my voice, free to live without fear.”

The air around me pulsed. Magic crackled faintly under my skin, pulling something from deep inside my chest. The weight of the connection settled behind my eyes, behind my ribs.

“But you won’t remember this. Not the night it happened. Not me. Not each other. Not the reason you ever came together.”

Another tug. Sharper this time, Like a thread snapping loose in my chest.

“You won’t search for each other again. You won’t try to rebuild what was broken. You won’t fight the wolves again. To you, peace will feel like the only thing that ever mattered.”

My voice was shaking, hands trembling in my lap, but my head spinning from the burden of it all.

But I didn’t stop. Not yet. No mistakes this time.

“And that will be enough. Let this end here. Let it stay buried. And let none of you ever bleed because of me again. Not unless you come against me with weapons and malicious intent. Not unless you come against Zane Adams or his pack with the intent to kill. You will only fight the ones who fight you.”

The hum in the room hit against the walls, almost shaking the room.

Then it broke.

A gust of wind slammed into the windows. The candles flickered wildly. And I swayed, knees buckling as the spell tore itself loose from me, spreading out in all directions.

Zane caught me before I hit the ground.

Again.

I didn’t pass out this time. But I did stay there for a moment, in his arms, breathing hard, blood still trickling from my nose.

It was done.

-UNKNOWN-

The guy had a knife. But I had a bigger one.

We were wrestling on the pavement. My partner was bleeding out beside the cruiser. Dispatch was screaming something in my ear, but all I could hear was the blood pounding in my skull.

I shoved the guy off. He ran.

I didn’t chase.

I lifted the knife to throw it at him, but then froze.

The knife turned towards me, my hand no longer in my control.

I tried to stop it. But I couldn’t.

An invisible force tugged at my forearm bringing the knife closer and closer to my neck.

The blade glinted under the moonlight.
