He sat down himself to the lounge next to her, as he saw his parents go to their room to presumably pack to leave as well, though his mother was ushering his father as if to give them time alone.

“I understand you’re not the same person, that I am not the same person either. That, yes, our lives have both moved on for the past eight years. I also don’t expect you to be Marrin from when we were married, if that is

ZB4148 what you’re thinking.” He told her, he didn’t even want that.

“Certainly, sounded as though that’s what you expected,” she stated.

“I just don’t want to fight in front of the boys,” he told her. “They don’t need to see that. Parents shouldn’t fight in front of their young children. Things like that, I believe, should be kept behind closed doors is all.

“I’d like for us to get along like we once used to, as well. We did get along, had a lot in common, likely we still do,” he told her. “I’ve also been reading your books as well. Interesting it is what you write. I can even see how you came to do it. Games are just stories. All you did was go from coding to the written word, and you did it very well.”

“Why would you do that, read them? They are tallored to female readers.” She frowned at him.

“I was simply curious. I’m only on your fifth book, but Anabell tells me the Born Light and Dark series is a must-read.” He smiled at her. “She still loves your work, loved it even before she knew who you were.”

“Hmm, I know.” She nodded. “You don’t have to read them, you know, I didn’t expect you to.”

“I want to, though I have some questions that I would love answers to, somethings that you left open, and I’m curious about.” He smiled, he got the feeling that he was going to be able to engage her on this very topic, once they were getting along better. But left it alone for now, he could come back to it.

“If your ankle doesn’t get better in the next few days, I’ll send you and the boys home on my jet alright.” He stated, “I can have your car shipped out to you as well. Just take a few days to get there.”

“I’m certain that won’t be needed,” she told him simply. “I’ll be fine, likely by tomorrow afternoon, the swelling has already started to resolve.”

“If you’ll let me, I’ll ice it and re-strap it before we leave.” Calvin nodded.

“You do know I can do that myself,” she stated.

“I know, likely very independent,” he smiled. “But, I want to do that for you, show you that I care, and can be the person I should have been all those years ago. The one you deserved, please let me. I also do understand you just got your memories back and need a moment to catch up,” he told her.

He moved himself to the coffee table right in front of her and looked right at her. “I love you, Marilyn, and I want for us to come back together.” he told her how he felt and what he wanted. “I should have told you that back then. Been honest about my feelings and none of this would have happened.” He sighed.

“So, in the wake of my mistakes of the past, and all that has happened because of what I did. I will not make the same mistake again where you are concerned. I will just tell you how I feel. I want you to know and understand me and what I want. I will never just presume you will understand my intentions ever again.”

“And what is it exactly that you want?” she asked. “Our two worlds are now very different, Calvin.”

“Yes, they are, or yours is. Mine is actually the same. What I want is for you to let me back into your life. For us to find a way to reconnect properly, as Marilyn and Calvin. Get engaged and married once more, properly this time, I will do it the right way he smiled a little. “Maybe have a little girl in the future.”

He saw her eyes go a little wide, and he chuckled. “I’m likely going to be a very different person to the mar you were married to in some respects, not so much in others. As much as you are not the Marrin was married to anymore. I see you’re going to be headstrong and put me in my place when I need it, and I kind of like the thought of it to be honest,

“That was something I liked about you when I met you as Marrin Huxley. It was very attractive to me, and gained my undivided attention. Most people just nod and agree with me, because of who I am and what they want from me, you” he chuckled softly. “Never did that, and it was the very reason I approached you with that contract.”

“Right,” she murmured, as if she didn’t believe that.

Calvin laughed. “Ah, hmm, yes, that and how beautiful you are. A win-win it was for me. To have a beautiful, headstrong and intelligent woman on my arm as my wife. I always enjoyed watching you go head-to-head with others and talk business. It was a hell of a turn on,” he nodded.

She was just staring at him now, and he knew he was talking to her much differently to how she was expecting him to, but in someways he was still the same person. The only difference she would see in him right this minute as to how he would have talked to her over dinner or breakfast, was that he was open about loving her, and what he wanted for them.

“I’m not going to rush you, I’ll show you I can te patient and wait. Though I will also likely be a little on the… he paused as he heard the twins come from their room and smiled at her “Naughty side.” He stated and stood up as she frowned at him “In a fun way.” he murmured as he realised she didn’t quite understand his meaning, and he saw her eyes go a little wide once more.

He turned to the boys and smiled at them, “We’ll go back in my car, all of us.” He told them, “make sure you pack everything up, you don’t want to leave it behind.”

“We’re all packed,” Callum told him, and climbed up on to the lounge. “Can we fly home on your plane?”

Calvin shook his head. “Unlikely the car won’t fit on it.”

“Bummer.” He muttered and flopped down on the lounge.

“You’ll get a trip on it at some point. Maybe we can all go up to your new house for the Martin Luther King Jr long weekend. I could fly us all up there on my jet. We could leave Thursday after school for you and come back Monday afternoon. If your mother agrees of course,” he looked to Marilyn.
