“It took so many years to get your reaction, Alpha Bryan.”
Bryan’s hands loosened on his grip when he heard Victor. He released his hand and replied,
“Don’t make me remind you of something you don’t wish to remember again.”
Bryan’s voice came out as a warning. Sophia frowned as she looked at Bryan.
‘How can he talk to him like that after trying to snatch half of his pack?’ Sophia thought and felt bad for Victor.
Victor’s father was also betraying him by giving up half of the pack he deserved to get.
Victor tightened his fist as if Bryan’s warning had triggered something in him. As he was just about to move toward Bryan in anger, Sophia took a hold of his hand.
“Victor.”
He stopped and turned his head toward her. She patted his hand and mumbled,
“Let’s not fight. I didn’t mind Mila’s words.”
The reason why the atmosphere was getting heated was because Mila tried to humiliate her. So Sophia tried to ease the situation.
Victor’s dark face calmed down as he looked at Sophia.
“There is something in your eyes that can stop me in any situation. Do you know that?”
His words took her aback. She blinked her eyes, unsure of what had happened to him all of a sudden.
‘He was mad a few seconds ago, wasn’t he?’ she thought.
“Alpha Vic “
“Alpha!”
Bryan was about to say something when Beta Robert interrupted him as he and Theta Noble approached them.
Bryan looked at Robert with rage in his eyes. Robert lowered his gaze and said,
“Alpha, it is time to leave. We can not waste too much time here.”
Robert’s gaze was drawn to Sophia, and he became confused. “Sophia? What are you doing here?”
Sophia sighed and responded, “I came to receive Victor.”
“Victor? Did you just call him by his name without his rank?” Mila let out a shocked voice.
Sophia could not take any more tantrums from this woman. She gave her a look and smiled. Her smile was the weapon that she liked to use against her enemies.
“Just a few minutes ago, you were trembling to death. How did words bloom in your mouth suddenly?”
Mila’s eyes widened as she did not expect Sophia to talk like that.
She grabbed Bryan’s hand and said, “Bryan, look at her. She talks to me disrespectfully again. Just because she is Gamma Abraham’s sister, you can’t let her go every single time.”
Victor glared at Mila. “Dare to touch her, and I will break your hands in front of your fiance. I know her, and she knows me; that’s enough for you all. Don’t try to dig deeper into us.”
After saying that, Victor grabbed Sophia’s hand and pulled her with him toward the entrance.
Bryan shifted his gaze to Victor’s hand, which held Sophia. His eyes did not move until they faded from his sight.
“Bryan,” Beta Robert muttered as he moved to stand next to him.
Bryan turned away from the entrance and looked around. It seemed like he was thinking about something.
“Call Gamma Abraham and ask him how his sister knows that man. Is she planning to take another step to destroy me?” Robert rubbed his forehead, not knowing what to say.
Mila, on the other hand, was shocked. She could not believe Sophia and her brother knew each other. She wondered how the two of them had met.
She felt Sophia was the center of attention for all the men. She had become the favorite of those around her. First Bruce, then Bryan, and now her brother.
She clenched her jaw out of envy. She wanted to ruin her life. She would never forget how she insulted her in front of Bryan.
“That woman is getting on my nerves, Bryan. Please do something. I am getting irritated now.”
Bryan did not reply to her, as he was already having some thoughts.
Mila did not pause and continued to speak, thinking Bryan was listening to her calmly.
“Now I understand why she was reacting like that in the restaurant when I talked about Victor. She actually knows him. It doesn’t look like they met each other for the second time today. I know Victor. He has never shown this level of interest in a woman before. There must be something.”
Theta Noble looked at Beta Robert, urging him to do something. Beta Robert glanced at Bryan, then shut his eyes and said to Mila,
“Slow down. Stop talking about her. Let’s not discuss it.”
Mila shrugged her shoulders. She grabbed Bryan’s arm and mumbled in a soft tone.
“I know this type of woman really well, Bryan. I bet she started chasing Victor when she realized she could not get Alpha Bryan. Victor doesn’t look like he will let her go so “
Bryan turned his head and glared at Mila, causing her to pause.
His glare was enough to tremble her body, more intensely than she felt from Victor’s touch.
She was aware of both men’s realities. She had already seen their true self.
“B-Bryan…”
Bryan snatched his hand away from her grip and muttered,
“Your mouth is running too much these days. Should I seal it like I did your friend’s mouth?”
Fear caused Mila to take a step back, and her eyes widened as she did so. A reflection of the past flooded her mind. The ruthlessness of this man flashed in her eyes for a moment, and her heart clenched inside in fear.
She immediately lowered her head in submission.
“Alpha, I-I…”
Beta Robert shook his head and sighed. That was why he told Mila to stop speaking. He knew Bryan could not keep himself under control for long.
Bryan stepped toward Mila and said in a low tone,
“Tell your brother to stay away from her if he really wants to go back to his pack alive.”
When they came out of the airport, Sophia came to a halt. Victor turned to look at her.
“What happened?”
She looked down at her hand and motioned for him to let it go. But instead of releasing her hand, he rubbed his thumb over the back of her hand.
Sophia looked at him. “What were you saying in front of them? I came to get your attention?”
After saying that, she yanked her hand away from him. He gave her a sly grin.
“Now don’t play hard to get. You are standing next to me, wearing my jacket, and talking to me while looking into my eyes. Don’t you know it can grab any man’s attention?”
Sophia looked away from him and let out a sigh. “I came here only because you are blackmailing me.”
Victor laughed as he began to walk toward the car that had just stopped a foot away.
“Don’t try to fool me. I am Alpha Victor. You didn’t do your homework properly, I guess.”
Sophia’s brows rose after hearing him. She followed him and inquired,
“Homework?”
He stopped to open the car’s backdoor and turned to her. He gestured to her to the car.
“What?”
“Get in.”
“But I only came here to receive you.”
“By how? Just seeing me in the airport? That is not referred to as receiving, darling. Let’s go somewhere where we can talk.”
Sophia thought for a moment, then got inside the car. Victor walked toward the other door and climbed in the car.
Seated beside her, he gave her a quick glance.
“Where would you like to go with me? I came to your pack. You have the duty to take me around.”
