It looked like he was a lawyer.

Sophia was paying her full attention to that lady’s husband. But when she caught sight of a man dressed in black pants and a white shirt, her gaze moved.

With his suit jacket in one arm, he held a woman’s waist with the other. He was speaking to her with a serious expression.

Sophia’s brows furrowed as she stared at him.

She was about to stand up but stopped. Holding Alpha Bryan’s hand, Mila Laurent walked up to the man.

Before they could reach the man, he sent the woman away, saying something to her. The woman bowed her head professionally, giving off the impression that she was his personal secretary.

The man moved in the direction of Bryan and Mila, but he walked past them when his gaze fell on Sophia.

Sophia froze when she noticed him ignoring them and approaching in her direction.

She slowly stood up as she saw the man after a year. She cleared her throat and said,

“Alpha Victor.”

On the other hand,

Bryan turned around as Victor walked by. His indifferent look faded as his brows furrowed when he saw the man walking toward Sophia and then her calling his name.

Victor grinned at Sophia and spoke in a little loud tone.

“The weather was not on my side as it planned to stop me from meeting you again. But here I am. Did I make you wait for me too long?”

Sophia looked away from Victor and shook her head. “Not too long.”

She had no idea this man would cross his sister and come to her directly. She wished to meet him after they had left and stay away from the other two. But Victor did not let her do that.

“I thought you wouldn’t come. It is great that the cold woman got some brains as well.”

She frowned in response to Victor’s words. She looked at him with a frowning face. Victor chuckled at her reaction.

“Sorry, I forgot. You already got your brain a year ago.”

Sophia rolled her eyes as she realized he was referring to the time she refused Bryan’s proposal to become his mistress.

She was about to say that she would have to leave but before she could let out anything, Mila spoke out.

“Bro-Brother?”

Victor’s cheerful expression darkened, which did not go unnoticed by Sophia.

Sophia did her best not to turn her head in Mila and Bryan’s direction.

Victor turned to them and raised a brow. “Oh, my lovely sister and my soon-to-be brother-in-law are here!”

He spoke as if he had not noticed them until now. Sophia averted her gaze from Victor. Unintentionally, her gaze was drawn to Bryan. But her eyes froze the moment they met his dark eyes.

His face was not as calm as it had been before entering the airport. He had a killer look. His eyes were enough to kill Sophia from that distance.

She turned away from him, not understanding what had happened to him so suddenly.

Victor took a step forward and prepared to walk back to Mila and Bryan. He paused and turned to look at Sophia.

“Let’s go.”

Sophia’s eyes widened. “Where?”

“Aren’t you here for me? You should stick to me like glue.”

“What the hell!”

He let out a chuckle and grabbed her wrist, dragging her toward Mila and Bryan.

Sophia was taken aback. She did not want to go in front of Bryan right now. Her mind was already messed up by that man. She had not forgotten what he had told her two days ago.

Victor came to stop in front of Mila and Bryan.

Mila looked at Sophia with a confused look.

Meanwhile, Bryan’s eyes were still on Sophia. They did not move from the moment Victor approached her.

“Bro-Brother, h-how do you k-know her?”

With a look of surprise on her face, Sophia looked at Mila. She had never seen her stutter like that in front of Bryan. Then why was she talking like that in front of Victor?

“You should greet your brother first,” Victor said in a cold tone.

“Bro-Brother, I’m happy that you are here.” Mila’s voice came out in a distinct tone.

Sophia could not help but scoff at her. She thought that she owed this woman a retaliation for what had happened on Tyra’s birthday.

“Are you really happy? But you did not look this happy when you talked about him at Tyra’s birthday a few days ago.”

Mila’s eyes grew large as she turned her gaze at Sophia.

Sophia sensed that her reaction was more fear than surprise. With a laugh, Victor remarked,

“It is because she recently got her wings. Marrying Alpha Bryan will really help her a lot. Am I right, Sister?”

Mila gulped as she moved closer to Bryan. Fear was clearly visible in her eyes. But when she turned to face Bryan, she frowned.

Seeing Bryan focus his attention on Sophia, she could not help but feel enraged.

She looked at Sophia and said, “What’s wrong with your dress? Did you wear it intentionally to get others’ attention?”

Sophia lowered her head to look at her dress, which had dried but hugged her body. She blinked her eyes and slowly raised her head. She saw Bryan’s eyes move in her dress.

In the next moment, a black suit jacket came into contact with her body. Victor wrapped his jacket around her shoulders.

“She came to get my attention, not others. So stop looking at her,” Victor said, glaring at Mila.

Sophia grabbed the suit jacket with both of her hands and stared at Victor.

“She came here to get your attention? Look at her shoes. Her dressing style is so bad.”

Mila continued to blabber about Sophia, insulting her in front of both men. Sophia did not say anything to Mila, instead glancing at Bryan.

His eyes were fixed on the suit jacket wrapped around her body. She scoffed at him in her heart. He did not even tell his fiancee not to insult her like that.

She was now really regretting loving him in the past.

“Don’t go to her dressing style, little sister. Should I begin with your lifestyle? Is anyone in this pack aware of how the princess of Moon Valley Pack used to live in her own pack?”

Victor’s mocking tone made Mila freeze. She retreated when he moved forward toward her.

Victor smirked at her, raised his hand, and started stroking her hair. Mila’s whole body began to shake in terror.

“Still the same scaredy cat? What’s there to fear abo…”

Victor was interrupted when a hand grabbed his hand and stopped him from stroking Mila’s hair.

Bryan turned his head and looked at Victor. The darkness that was surrounding his eyes became even more intense.

Sophia almost took a step back when she saw how Bryan looked at Victor.

His face almost changed as it turned fiercer. She had seen him get angry at others many times. But this look was different.

It was as if he had changed from Bryan to someone she had never known.

She could not even blink as her gaze remained fixed on his face. She was dissatisfied with how much he cared about Mila. Because of her, he stopped Victor. She assumed that he had the strongest feelings for that woman.

So she looked away from him in anger.

“This is not Moon Valley but the Night Shade Pack.”

Bryan paused as his eyes shifted to Sophia for a moment, then returned back to Victor.

“I’m hoping Alpha Victor will not touch anything that is not his. It will only burn him into ashes.”

Victor glanced at his hand, which Bryan gripped firmly. He began to laugh as if he did not mind. However, it was a dark laugh.

Sophia focused her attention on Victor.

The man looked calm, but when he met Brayn’s gaze, his eyes flickered red. A grin appeared on his lips as he muttered,
