After work, Isabella headed over to the Klein Group. She planned to meet with Andrew and possibly discuss Milly’s progress with Howard. But upon asking, she found out that Howard had left for the day. So, Isabella went directly to Andrew’s office. She opened the door without knocking and stepped into the elegantly simple office. The air was thick with tension, and it was only then that she noticed several sharply dressed men in front of Andrew’s desk.

They all turned to face her, their eyes conveying a blend of hope and compassion, leaving Isabella bewildered. Not expecting they were in the middle of a meeting, Isabella hastily apologized, “Sorry, I didn’t realize you were busy. Please, go on.”

As she was about to leave, Andrew’s deep voice halted her. “No need. We’re done here. Everyone can leave now,” he told the executives.

The executives looked at each other in confusion. Their boss had been incensed just a moment before. Why had his mood shifted so abruptly? And the woman who had just barged in without knocking—wasn’t that a serious breach of protocol? Why wasn’t the boss upset?

Despite their bewilderment, the executives didn’t voice their questions. They quickly gathered their papers and exited, stealing glances at Isabella as they left. When Andrew’s eyes met Isabella’s, any remnants of his earlier fury melted away, replaced by a gentle warmth.

“What brings you here today?” Andrew asked.

“I came to see Howard, but he has already left,” Isabella responded.

“He likely went to check on Milly. Yesterday, Milly was surrounded by game-obsessive fans,” Andrew mentioned casually.

Isabella was taken aback; she hadn’t been informed of the incident. Yet, knowing Milly, she figured those fans couldn’t have harmed her.

Andrew smiled at Isabella and said, “It looks like two of your brothers are in love with someone.”

It was clear to Andrew that Howard harbored special feelings for Milly.

Isabella laughed. “As long as Milly’s on board, I’m happy for them. Howard has had his share of tough breaks—having someone wonderful could really turn things around for him.”

“Indeed. Just give me a moment to finish up here.”

Isabella nodded and settled herself on the sofa. Noticing the snacks in the coffee table drawer, she smiled. The snacks had become a regular thing since her first visit. She casually grabbed a bag and began to check her phone.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the office door. “Come in,” Andrew said.

Isabella expected an employee, but a man with fiery red hair and a rebellious look walked in instead.

“Andrew!” Norton exclaimed excitedly as he approached. “I have fantastic news!”

Andrew’s gaze hardened as he looked up. “What is it?”

“Norton’s back,” he announced.

Andrew fell silent, his expression unreadable.

Isabella blinked, confusion flickering in her eyes. Jada? Who was she? The name sounded like it belonged to a woman, but in all the time Isabella had known Andrew, he had never shown any interest in other women. She had always assumed he didn’t have any female friends.

Norton continued, a grin on his face, “Aren’t you excited, Andrew? Jada has been abroad for years, and now she’s finally returning. We’ll have a gathering, and you have to come!”

Andrew’s response was cold and distant. “We’ll see.”

Norton’s irritation was palpable. “Andrew, why are you acting so detached?”

Andrew’s response was a sharp, icy stare—enough to silence any further questioning.

Just as Norton gathered himself to say more, his gaze landed on Isabella on the sofa. His eyes widened in disbelief. “Who’s she? Your girlfriend?”

There was no way the rumors about Andrew’s girlfriend were true. The idea seemed absurd! Andrew, who had always kept women at arm’s length, now had a girlfriend?

“Yes,” Andrew replied, his voice flat but unyielding.

Norton gasped in astonishment. His mind raced—this didn’t make sense! Someone else, someone not meant for Andrew, was now here. Barely regaining his composure, Norton mumbled, “I have to go!”

As he stepped out of the office and into the hallway, his cellphone buzzed.

“Norton, it’s been too long,” came a sultry, confident voice from the other end of the line.

Norton’s demeanor shifted instantly, his usual defiance crumbling. “Jada, have you decided when you will come back?”

“I’m almost done with my last fragrance. I’ll be back by the end of the month.” Jada’s voice was steady, yet there was an underlying expectation. “Will you come to see me when I return?” she asked calmly.

Norton sighed, knowing what he couldn’t say. “I’m afraid he won’t be able to.” He kept the truth about Isabella to himself. If Jada found out, it would hurt her. In his eyes, Isabella wasn’t the right fit for Andrew. Jada, with her brilliance and unique talents, seemed destined for him.

She was part of a secretive organization, which Norton himself hadn’t been able to enter. Though she was still in her trial period, Jada’s abilities were undeniable. To Norton, a woman needed to be as exceptional as Jada to truly stand beside Andrew.

Back in the office, after Norton’s departure, Isabella casually scrolled through her phone, seemingly unfazed. Andrew glanced at her, waiting for a reaction that never came. He finally broke the silence. “Don’t you have any questions?”

Isabella looked up briefly, then returned to her snack. “Nope. Why? Should I?” She smiled, her tone light. “I’m not going to control who you’re friends with.”

Andrew’s expression darkened, his voice low. “Alright.” He knew Isabella wasn’t the jealous type, but a part of him wished she was. He needed her, and only her, in his life.

After Andrew wrapped up his work, they headed to a restaurant for dinner—something they hadn’t done in a while. Isabella’s mood lifted; it felt good to be out together.

They chose a table by the window, a perfect spot for people-watching. As they settled in, a car pulled up across the street.

In the car, Tatiana watched Isabella and Andrew through narrowed eyes. “Corbett, you have to believe me. This pregnancy is Andrew’s downfall. She’s too naive, just a pawn in my hands. Being with her will only drag him down.”

Tatiana looked at Corbett pleadingly and added, “Please give me another chance!”

Corbett’s expression remained cold, his eyes calculating as he weighed her words. “If Courtney’s really carrying Andrew’s child, why are they still sitting there so peacefully? I doubt Isabella would be this calm if it were true.”

Tatiana leaned closer, her voice a whisper. “Women are all jealous, Corbett. Isabella knows Andrew is the best she’ll ever have. She won’t let go that easily. A sly smile curled on her lips. And if Glenn and his family catch wind of this, it will cause a rift—something we can use to our advantage.”

Corbett considered this, a glint of interest in his eyes. “You may have a point. Alright, I’ll give you another chance.”

Relief washed over Tatiana, but it was tainted with bitterness. She had always been warned—relationships among the wealthy required constant calculation. Corbett didn’t love her; he would be with her only as long as she was useful. The realization stung, contrasting sharply with the simplicity of her past with Howard, where she could be carefree, protected by his unwavering support.

But Tatiana quickly masked her feelings, flashing a seductive smile. “Don’t you think about me, Corbett?” she purred, slipping her hand toward his crotch.

Corbett smirked, his thoughts dark. What would her adoring fans think if they saw her now—the “pure goddess” exposed as anything but? But he didn’t resist her advances.

An hour later, after a rough encounter in the backseat, Corbett coldly shoved Tatiana out of the car and sped off, leaving her standing alone in the wind.

Tatiana clenched her fists, anger bubbling beneath her polished exterior. How dare he discard her so ruthlessly the moment he was done!

Oh, fuck! Tatiana was furious. All of this was just because her good name got dragged through the mud? Corbett was truly awful!

Just as Tatiana was about to hail a taxi, her eyes caught sight of a nearby shopping mall. She decided that some retail therapy might help clear her mind. After all, using Corbett’s money for her spree was a satisfying way to channel her frustration.

After finishing her shopping, Tatiana stepped outside and noticed a familiar face in the bustling crowd. The man was impossible to miss, naturally commanding attention. He wore a white shirt adorned with expensive fabric, giving him an air of nobility that seemed almost otherworldly.

Her heart fluttered unexpectedly.

Howard.

He was right there. Just the sight of Howard stirred up a mix of grief and longing in Tatiana, making her ache for his comfort. Without hesitation, she moved toward him.

“Howard?” Tatiana called softly, but before she could get his attention, another figure suddenly appeared, slipping their arm through Howard’s.

“Finished,” the person said casually.

“Alright, let’s go,” Howard replied, his voice still carrying that familiar gentleness, like the calm of a warm summer breeze.

The person holding his arm wore a hat and a mask, but it was obvious she was a woman.

Tatiana stopped in her tracks, feeling a sudden surge of anger bubbling up within her, threatening to spill over any second now!

“Who are you?” Acting on pure impulse, Tatiana reached out and yanked the woman’s mask right off.

Tatiana’s actions were lightning-fast. Before Howard even had a chance to intervene, she had ripped the mask away, uncovering a stunning face underneath. Tatiana’s eyes widened in shock as recognition set in. “Milly?” The name burst from her mouth, nearly a scream.

Howard quickly replaced the mask on Milly’s face, then turned to Tatiana with a harsh, unforgiving look. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” he demanded.

“Howard, what’s going on? Are you here with her?” Tatiana’s voice trembled as the last shred of her self-control seemed to break.
