“I will rip your tongue out,” I whispered, my eyes warning.

The corner of his mouth curled into a half smile.

“I know,” he replied. “Move now, go sit on the bed.”

I didn’t want to remain trapped between him and the door anymore, so I obliged, moving around him.

“Good girl,” he said drily, before leaving the room.

The door clicked shut at once, and I released a heavy breath, before glancing around.

No windows. No doors.

Just plain walls.

A prison.

No, more like a holding cell for psychos.

I didn’t deserve to be here.

He did.

And everyone else like him.

Sadistic murderers.

Rapists.

Heartless killers.

Monsters.

I walked over to the bed and sat down, my gaze fixing on the camera watching me.

I flipped it the bird, hoping he’d see it. Or someone else would.

Any werewolf would work.

I wouldn’t be here for much longer.

No matter what Blake had planned for me, I wasn’t going to let him be successful.

I wasn’t Lia Snow.

I was Caitlyn Prince.

I’d make him cry tears of blood before offering him a shred of kindness-let alone anything else.

-BLAKE’S POV-

Caitlyn was very different from Lia.

While the Goddess had decided I be stuck with human girls who didn’t want anything to do with me, she’d sure provided me with variety.

Lia had been easier. Simpler. Just a studious bookworm trying to keep her scholarship and free herself from her bullies. If she hadn’t had two mates, I was sure I would have won her heart.

But with Caitlyn, it was much trickier.

She hated my existence right off the bat.

I hadn’t even harmed her in any way, and she’d despised my guts.

Now, she even had reason to.

Getting through to her felt impossible.

But this was my last chance at happiness.

There was no way I was letting her get away. Not her too.

Not this time around.

I tookkihadtaayoffood to the room she was currently locked insid?e.

I hated that I hadokkeepher here, but her room hadn’t beenn prepared yet! And Ineeded to establish a bit of dominance.. Had she woken uppimacoushioned and comfortable bedroom, she would haveacted but immediately. There would be tooo many things forheritdamsciagainst me. Too many things to o harm herself with Shibawaasa werewolf huntress, after all. From what I’d managed toddarnmbbothers she’d killed a couple of usis before…

I unlocked the door and steppped inside, to find her sitting on the e bed, knees pulled to her chessl.

For a moment there, she looked hbergge SShe looked innocent, naive. Almost helpless..

But I still remembered how she had Idolked when she fooled me tthe first time.

Caitlyn glanced up, her blue eyes fillinggwithh venom.

IIsstepped inside, closing the door with my foot.

“Immothungry. Take it away,” she spat, twithbun boffering me a alhance to speak.

“Youiixelliar, I know,” I said casually, walkinggowaardsher.

She stood up from the bed, staring at me defiantly.

“You’re the one who’s a liar, Blake. You’re the one who betrayed us,” she snapped. “You were supposed to take Lia away. Bring her here, not me. You piece of shit.”

“You betrayed me first,” I pointed out, setting down the tray on the bed. “You pretended to be a distressed little angel, a sweet little thing, all scared for her life. I helped you out of the kindness of my heart. And how did you repay me for it?”

“That was exactly what you deserved,” she shot back. “We were on a mission.”

“So was I, little angel,” I replied sarcastically. “That didn’t go how I hoped. So I had to improvise.”

“Improvise,” she scoffed. “By ditching one girl and going after the other?”

“I wish things were as in my control as you make it sound,” I muttered. “What a perfect world that would be.”

She rolled her eyes so hard I was afraid they’d slip into her brain.

She was cute. Weirdly so. Sometimes frightening.

I didn’t understand her one bit.

She grabbed the tray from the bed, ready to throw it at my face, but I caught her hands before she could release it into the air.

Sparks travelled up my wrists, and by the look on her face, hers loo.

“Hey,” I growled, “behave.”

She pro groaned, trying to pull her hands from my grip, but failing.

“Stop,” I warned, letting go of one hand to snatch the tray and get it to safety. Once I placed it aside, I gave her a light shove, making her fall back on the bed.

“I said I’m not hungry!” she yelled. “Take it away from here. I am not an idiot that I’ll eat your poisoned food.”

I stared down at her, raising a brow. “Poisoned? You think I need poison to kill you?”

She smiled, her eyes narrowing dangerously, glinting with what felt like years of hatred.

It was… a little creepy.

And yet, somehow, she was still beautiful.

“Not to kill me,” she said, “it’s to control me. To manipulate me, to enchant me and make me believe that you and I-” she stopped herself from saying it.

My heart skipped a beat. Hers pounded in her chest.

I stepped closer to her, causing her fists to ball on her sides.

She was terrified of me. And yet, she had the guts to constantly yell at me.

It was an odd combination.

It was new.

“You and I what, Caitlyn?” I whispered, my eyes flickering to her mouth. It was pressed in a thin line, and all I could think of was to ease it with my own. Maybe to tease it too. “Say it, if you’re so brave,” I dared.
