Filed To Story: Mated To Big Brother-in-law
His tone was surprising yet fearful, which did not go unnoticed by the almighty man standing tall near the table.
After taking a sip of her drink, Sophia got to her feet. Just as she turned around to look at her brother, she found Bryan standing right in front of her.
Sophia’s heart clenched inside when she looked at the handsome man. His black sunglasses concealed the way his piercing eyes looked at her.
She tightened her fists to calm herself.
‘I have been trying to calm my traitor heart so that I can control it in front of you when we meet again. I will never let you see my broken state again,’ she said in her mind, trying to calm her heart.
She was surprised. The man had not changed a little bit. His indifferent look never left his face.
“Sophia, why are you here?” Abraham asked with disbelief.
He had hoped Sophia was not the culprit after she stated yesterday that Bryan did not have any proof against her. He had assumed his sister was at the university, taking classes there.
Little did he know that today would be the worst day of his life.
Sophia glanced at her brother. “Why can’t I be here, brother?” she asked in an innocent tone.
Raising his hand, Bryan removed his sunglasses.
Sophia nearly took a step back as his sharp eyes met hers.
He slowly shifted his gaze to Alpha Oliver, who was staring at him quietly. He noticed there was nothing on the table except two glasses of wine. It gave the impression that the two were simply having a great time together.
When Bryan’s gaze returned to Sophia, he asked her in a calm tone.
“Miss Berge, may I ask what you are doing here with Alpha Oliver?”
Sophia scoffed at Bryan and replied,
“No. You can’t ask, Alpha Bryan.”
Bryan’s eyes grew darker as he stared at her. Except for Abraham, all the officials looked at Bryan, perplexed as to why he was not taking any action against her.
Abraham rushed up to Sophia and grabbed her arm, doing his best to seize the last opportunity.
“Sophia, you can’t talk to Alpha like that. And what are you doing here? You should be at your university at this time.”
Sophia moved her eyes from the dark orbs and looked at her brother. She removed his hand from her arm and replied,
“Brother, please. I am not a kid who needs to keep you and mom updated wherever I go.”
Beta Robert approached her and said,
“We suspect you assisted Alpha Oliver in winning the project.”
“What are you saying?” Alpha Oliver asked, pretending that he had no idea about it.
With her arms crossed over her chest, Sophia said to Robert,
“Show me proof. Do you have any proof, like the last time you found out about Lily? Like bank transfers, land transfers, expensive jewelry, and all.”
She glanced at Alpha Oliver, who grinned at her. She continued to amaze him with each passing moment.
“She is right. Why are you all suspecting her?”
He then looked at Bryan and said,
“Alpha Bryan, why did you waste your time to come here? You could have asked me directly. I would have told you honestly that, no matter what, you can’t win projects over my company.”
Bryan’s officials glared at Alpha Oliver, whom he clearly ignored.
Sophia turned to face Bryan, who was still looking at her. He only asked her one question, then turned silent as if it were a silence before a storm.
“Alpha Bryan, if you want to punish me without proof, I will have to accept it. But it is not good to intrude on someone else’s private time.”
“Private time?” he questioned, gritting his teeth.
Sophia chuckled as she turned to Alpha Oliver. “Actually, I came here on a date with Alpha Oliver. But you disturbed us. I think we have to end the date here. Oliver, please don’t mind.”
Alpha Oliver raised a brow but quickly changed his expression and held out his hand toward Sophia.
“No, my lady. We can go on a second date anytime you want.”
With a smile on her face, Sophia touched his palm.
Bryan lowered his gaze to Oliver’s hand, which was holding Sophia’s. However, his expression was composed. No one knew what he was thinking inside.
Sophia drew her hand back and turned to her brother. “I’m leaving, brother.”
Abraham looked at his sister with disappointment. He did not know his sister would do something like that.
As Sophia was about to move aside to leave, she turned her head to glance at the way that led to the balcony.
“By the way, Alpha.”
Her eyes met Bryan once again.
This time, she gave him a cold look that expressed the deep animosity she had been harboring for him.
“Since the whole pack knows how much you love your Luna, you can bring her here for dinner someday. I heard this restaurant is renowned for its romantic atmosphere for couples.”
Bryan did not let out a single word as his eyes were digging on hers.
She bowed her head to greet him with a smile. “Have a good day, Alpha.”
Saying that, she turned around and left the restaurant gracefully.
“I think I should drop yo…”
Alpha Oliver was about to call Sophia from behind but paused when he felt Bryan’s glare on him.
He cleared his throat and said, “Well, she came here on a date with me. I can at least drive her home.”
Abraham gave him a fierce look and muttered, “She has her own car to go back home. You don’t have to. Stay away from my sister.”
Alpha Oliver walked to Abraham and patted his shoulder. “Your sister is smarter than you. So you don’t need to think about her. Instead, worry about your Alpha’s business, as it is losing a project each month.”
Theta Emon turned to Bryan as Alpha Oliver walked past them.
“Alpha, please allow me to kill this man right here. He dared to speak after getting the deal through cheating.”
Bryan did not give him permission. Instead, his gaze was drawn to the glass Sophia had been holding a few minutes earlier.
After only a year, she had completely changed herself.
He turned around and headed to the entrance. His steps came to a halt as his gaze fell on the balcony area. Sophia’s words and the past both flashed through his mind.
He averted his gaze, put on his shades, and walked out of the restaurant.
All the officials exchanged glances as they followed him outside the restaurant.
As Bryan reached for his car, he turned to face Abraham and said,
“Come with me.”
Abraham swallowed, fearing for his sister. He did not know why she was challenging this almighty man, who never showed mercy to anyone.
The driver turned on the engine as Abraham sat in the backseat next to Bryan.
The manager felt relieved when all of the cars drove away from the restaurant.
Meanwhile, inside the car,
Abraham lowered his head, considering how to apologize to him.
“Alpha, she is naive. Please forgive her.”
Bryan turned his head to the window and asked,
“Forgive? For what? Revealing my company’s secrets to other pack companies over and over again?”
Abraham’s eyes widened as he could not believe his ears.
‘He always knew it was her,’ he thought.
He took a deep breath and requested him with a polite tone.
