“Then why did you bring me and the baby back, but didn’t bring Kit with us?”

Tina asked, puzzled.

“Because…” Chandler paused for a moment, his voice becoming low,

“Because you are an important person to me.”

“What kind of relationship did we have before?”

Chandler’s eyes flashed with a painful expression, then he lowered his eyelids, concealing the pain in his eyes. “I’ll tell you when you get better in the future.”

“Since I’m important to you, our relationship must be extraordinary, right? Can you help me transfer Kit to Emerald City? He is my husband and also the father of my child! He is really important to me!” Tina said.

Although Kit never said they were married, during the time they were together, she already considered him as her husband.

anticipating the birth of their child.

But her words seemed to provoke

Chandler, who suddenly shouted, “He’s not your husband, and the child is not his! Your husband and the child’s father are…”

In response, she looked at him with a terrified expression.

The words he wanted to say got stuck in his throat, nearly choking him.

“So, who is my husband and the child’s father?” Tina suddenly raised her hand and grabbed

Chandler’s sleeve.

He stared at her trembling hand.

With her current physical condition, he could easily free himself from her grasp.

But at this moment, it felt like there was an invisible barrier holding him back.

His Adam’s apple moved, and after a while, he said, “I will tell you in the future.”

“I want to know now!” Tina insisted, her breathing becoming more rapid, her fingers gripping his sleeve turning white.

“Do you really want to know?” he asked in return.

“Yes!” she replied with absolute certainty. “Since this concerns me, I want to know!”

Chandler remained silent. Even though she had lost her memory, even though she had forgotten her past feelings for him, her personality hadn’t changed. She was still the same Tina

Tina preferred the truth and disliked being deceived, even if it was a well-intentioned lie.

But should he tell her the truth?

Should he tell her the truth when she was so physically weak?

What would be the consequences, and could he really bear them?

After a long silence, he slowly uttered, “It’s me, Tina! Your husband and the child’s father is me, the person you once loved, and it has always been me!”

Tina didn’t know how she got through that night.

Ever since Chandler revealed all these facts to her, her mind had gone blank, and everything she had previously known was being overturned in an instant.

So, she was her parents’ child, after all, the middle-aged couple who had looked at her with worried yet longing eyes in the hospital room.

But Kit wasn’t the person she loved, nor the father of her child. Her husband and the child’s father were both this man named

Chandler.

He said that at their wedding, she fell into the water and was swept away by the current.

He said he had been searching for her all this time, unable to find her, and he was nearly driven to madness.

He even said that she was the only person he had ever loved in his life!

He showed her many photos of their time together, as well as news articles about the Stephenson family and the Hunter family searching for her after she was swept away, making her unable to doubt everything he said.

But how could Kit have lied to her?!

She still couldn’t believe it.

After all, during the time she spent with Kit, he had been so good to her. She could feel the tenderness and affection in his eyes.

When Lina and Hadwin came to the hospital in the morning and found out that Tina already knew the truth, they couldn’t help but worry.

“Didn’t we agree to wait until she recovers a bit and then tell her? Can she handle knowing all this now? What if she can’t accept it…” Lina said.

“I’m sorry!” Chandler apologized with guilt, “I couldn’t hold back in the moment.”

He couldn’t help but blurt it out because he was too jealous. Jealous that the person who used to love him so much now had thoughts for another man.

Hadwin patted Chandler’s shoulder, understanding his feelings as a man.

“Now that it’s already like this, let’s think about how to help Tina accept it better,” Hadwin said.

Lina sighed and said to the two men, “I’ll go in and talk to Tina. Leave her to me.” After that, she walked into the ward, leaving the two big men outside.

Lina entered the ward and looked at her daughter, calling out with heartache, “Tina…”

Tina turned her head and looked at Lina. There was a complicated expression on her face. After a while, she spoke, “Are you really my mother?”

Tears immediately filled Lina’s eyes, “Yes, I am your mother. You don’t know how happy your father and

I were when we found out you were still alive, Tina. I know you’ve lost your memory, and even if you don’t recognize me right away, it’s okay. Your father and I can wait patiently. Whether you have your memory or not, you’re still our daughter.”

Tina felt a pang of heartache seeing the tears in the woman’s eyes.

She didn’t like it when this woman cried. It felt like it would make her uncomfortable if the other person cried!

“Mom!” Tina shouted. She believed, believed that this woman was really her mother because the intense feeling the woman had for her couldn’t be faked!

Lina’s tears couldn’t be stopped anymore. They kept rolling down from her eyes as she hugged Tina.

“It’s Mom, Mom is here!” This was her child! From the moment she carried her in her womb, she vowed to protect her child!

“Mom, I know I should believe what you and Dad said, but I still want to see Kit. I want to hear everything from his own mouth,” Tina said. “I have to hear it from him personally before I can believe it!”

Because he was the one who rescued her from the abyss!

Seeing her daughter’s determined expression, Lina knew that she had to let Tina see Kit, that only when she saw Kit and heard the truth from his own mouth would she accept this reality.

“Mom!” Seeing Lina hesitate, Tina said again, “I want to see Kit. Let me see him. Whether he deceived me or not, I need to hear the answers from his own mouth.”

Lina finally nodded, “Okay, I’ll let you see him.”

With that, Tina relaxed her brows and soon fell asleep due to exhaustion.

Lina left the ward and relayed Tina’s request.

“She wants to see Kit,” Lina said.

“No, we can’t let her see that guy again!” Hadwin objected. “He deceived Tina and caused her to have an accident. Who knows what bad things will happen if Tina goes to see him.”

“But no matter what, if it weren’t for him, Tina might still be suffering in that small village. He was the one who brought Tina out of the village. And the police also said that when the accident happened, if it wasn’t for Kit using his body to protect Tina, her injuries might have been even worse, maybe even fatal!”

“But if he hadn’t lied when he found Tina, how could Tina have had the accident? I didn’t directly report him to the police and have him arrested. That was already letting him off lightly!”

Hadwin became even angrier when talking about this.

Neither of the married couples wanted to back down.

In the end, Chandler made a concession, “Then let Tina see him.”

“Chandler!” Hadwin couldn’t believe his eyes as he looked at Chandler. “Are you really willing to let

Tina see him? Aren’t you afraid that he’ll say some persuasive words to Tina? What if Tina wavers again, what will you do?”

“Anyway, if Tina wants to see Kit, then let her see him. Even if she is really shaken by it and would rather believe a liar, I accept that fact!” Chandler said.

But the weight of these words, only he understood!

Hadwin glanced at his son-in-law, and only then did he deeply understand that Chandler loved Tina more than he had imagined!

“Since you also know what the consequences might be, I won’t say anything.” Hadwin sighed and patted Chandler’s shoulder.

Lina’s eyes turned red. This is a test for Chandler, but also a test for Tina!

I wonder what will happen when Tina really meets Kit!

Lina’s feelings towards Kit have always been contradictory.

On one hand, she is grateful that Kit found Tina and rescued her from the village. But on the other hand, she resents Kit for deceiving Tina, who has lost her memory.

Now, no one knows what the consequences will be when Tina and Kit meet.

Before meeting Kit, Tina first met her own daughter.

Sitting in a wheelchair, she was pushed into the premature baby room, looking at the newborns in the incubators. Then Lina pointed to one of the babies and said, “This is your daughter.”

Tina looked at the tiny, fragile baby still in the incubator, with thin tubes inserted in her nostrils and IV

fluids in her hand. She looked small and vulnerable.

But another indescribable emotion surged from her chest.

This is her child!

A child with blood ties to her!

This child is very important! Very important!

But is it only because this is her baby that she feels it is important and is willing to protect this child at all costs?

It feels like there is another reason.
