Unlike Colin’s cheerful smile, Adele remained expressionless and silent, not paying much attention to the gifts. After exchanging a few pleasantries, she excused herself and left.

Colin smiled and said, “She’s not feeling well, so she went to rest. Don’t mind her.”

“Of course not.” Tina replied with a smile.

“You dare to come this time, quite brave of you. Aren’t you afraid of being thrown out again later?” the old Mr. Hunter said.

“Then Chandler will have to go back with me earlier.” Tina shrugged.

The old Mr. Hunter frowned, “In principle, since you haven’t married into the Hunter family yet, you shouldn’t be allowed in the ancestral home. However, since Chandler wants you to adapt to the ancestral home before marriage, I agreed. But you and Chandler’s marriage, you must not change your mind, understand? If you were to change your mind, then it won’t just be you, even the Stephenson family…”

“I know!” Tina immediately interrupted the old Mr. Hunter, “I definitely won’t change my mind. If you don’t believe me, I can actually marry Chandler right away.”

Of course, provided they can help her steal the family household register!

Colin and the old Mr. Hunter exchanged a glance.

Chandler frowned and said to his father and grandfather, “You don’t need to take Tina’s words seriously.”

He knew very well that his father and grandfather wanted his marriage to happen as soon as possible, but he still hoped that she would make this decision when she was more mature, and not regret it in the future.

Tina pouted, she was telling the truth!

If the Hunter family could get her household register today, she could register her marriage with

Chandler tomorrow.

However, since Chandler said this now, Tina didn’t continue the topic.

“I’ll take Tina to her room first,” Chandler said, leading Tina away.

Colin turned to his father and said, “Dad, can this child really save Chandler?”

“At least she can really ease Chandler’s pain,” said the old Mr. Hunter.

This was confirmed by him personally during Tina’s last visit to the Hunter family. “It’s just a pity that she’s still a bit young.”

Colin naturally understood the meaning behind his father’s words. If Tina were a bit older, then

Chandler wouldn’t have to wait.

The two of them had an age difference of 8 years, and Colin had been waiting for Tina to grow up all these years.

“But Tina has good feelings for Chandler, it’s just a matter of waiting for another year or two,” Colin said.

“In these one or two years, who can guarantee that nothing unexpected will happen? Don’t forget, wasn’t this Tina involved in a scandal with a famous idol before?” the old Mr. Hunter said.

When the scandal broke out online, although the Hunter family spoke to the Stephenson family, they were all worried that their engagement might change.

Fortunately, Chandler clarified that it was just a misunderstanding, a fabrication by the media, so that matter was resolved!

And at this moment, Chandler took Tina to a room, not the guest room she stayed in last time, but a room next to Chandler’s room.

There was a hidden door between the two rooms, also known as the so-called couple’s room.

“Tonight, you sleep in the room next to mine,” Chandler said.

“Can’t we sleep together?” Tina blinked her eyes.

“No,” Chandler said firmly.

“Ah? Why not?” Tina looked puzzled.

“I’m afraid I won’t have that self-control!” he said, rubbing his forehead. “Alright, you rest in the room for now. I’ll go to the ancestral hall and pay my respects, and then I’ll come back to find you.”

After saying that, Chandler left first, leaving Tina alone in the room, muttering to herself, “If he doesn’t have self-control, then so be it, I don’t mind!”

She looked around the bedroom, which was elegantly decorated. Even the random decorations in the room, in Tina’s eyes, were valuable.

Just then, there was a sudden knock on the door.

Tina got up to open the door and was slightly surprised when she saw who was standing at the door.

It was Chandler’s mother!

“Auntie, are you looking for Chandler? He just went to the ancestral hall,” Tina said.

Adele looked at Tina and said, “I’m here to find you.”

A look of surprise flashed in Tina’s eyes, as when she had seen Auntie Adele before, her attitude seemed indifferent, and she had even left early, as if she had nothing to say to her.

“Do you mind having a chat with me?” Adele asked.

Tina smiled, “Of course not.” Because she was Chandler’s mother, even if Adele’s attitude towards her was cold, Tina still had a favorable impression of her.

Because that is the person who gave birth to Chandler.

“I heard some things about you. Although Chandler has been with you since childhood and your relationship has always been good, in this world, people’s hearts are the most fickle,” Adele said.

“I disagree with that statement,” Tina said. “I don’t think people’s hearts are the most fickle. Many times, people’s hearts are also steadfast, just like my parents. After so many years, they still love each other. I believe they will continue to love each other in the future. I don’t think that will change.”

“But this is a minority,” Adele shrugged. “I know Chandler has already told you about the worms on his body. You must also know that the only way to relieve his pain is for you to quickly give birth to his child.”

“I know. After I graduate, I will marry Chandler immediately and have a child,” Tina promised.

“Are you really willing to give birth to this child?” Adele asked.

“Of course.” No matter who asks this question, no matter how many times, her answer is always the same!

“Aren’t you afraid that having a child will just be a burden for you? After all, you are still so young, but have been bound by a marriage since childhood.”

Tina frowned. Did Auntie say these things to test her feelings for Chandler?

“I don’t feel that my engagement with Chandler is a burden. On the contrary, I think it’s quite good,”

Tina said.

“Aren’t you afraid of Chandler? Don’t you think he’s like a monster?” Adele further pressed.

Tina’s frown deepened. “Auntie, do you think Chandler is a monster?”

“There are worms in his body!”

“So what?” Tina said seriously. “That’s not what he wants. He even suffers because of it, so I will help him get rid of this pain!”

Adele looked deeply at the woman in front of her, as if she saw her own reflection from years ago.

Back then, she also had the courage to believe that love only required unwavering courage!

But in the end…

“Regardless, you would be willing to help him relieve his pain, right?” Adele asked.

“Yes!” Tina said without any hesitation.

“Good. Just don’t forget the words you said to me today,” Adele said, then turned and left, leaving Tina confused.

What… did she come to find her just to say these things?

Was it to test whether she was truly committed to Chandler and willing to have his child?

After a while, Chandler returned.

“Did you finish paying your respects?” she asked.

“Hmm,” he said.

“Do you always have to go to pay respects every time you come back?” she asked curiously.

“More or less. If I’m staying at the Hunter family, then on Friday nights we would pay respects,”

Chandler said.

“But the person in the portrait didn’t harm your family, yet you still insist on paying respects to her?”

Tina asked, puzzled.

“It’s said to appease her anger, and over time, it became a tradition for the Hunter family,” Chandler replied.

“When you’re paying respects, do you ever secretly curse the person in the portrait?” After all, it was because of this woman that he was in so much pain.

“I used to, but not anymore,” Chandler said.

“Why not anymore?” she asked, curious.

He looked at her with tender eyes, “If the parasites didn’t exist in my body, then I wouldn’t have met you. I wouldn’t have noticed your existence when I saw Lina, I wouldn’t have saved you, and I wouldn’t have known that you are such a lovely person worth loving!”

So, gradually, his mindset started to change.

Before she was born, he would complain about the unfairness of fate. Every time the pain in his body flared up, he would resent why he had to have such a body, why such a curse had to exist.

But later, as she spent more time with him, he even began to feel fortunate that fate bound him to this curse, connecting his destiny with Tina’s.

Suddenly, Tina felt her heart race. Facing the gaze of the man in front of her, she had an urge to forcefully press him down beneath her!

However, before she could act on this impulse, the sound of a knock interrupted them. This time, it was the maid delivering late-night snacks.

“Madam asked to send some late-night snacks for the young master and Miss Stephenson,” the maid said.

“I’m feeling a bit hungry,” Tina quickly said, trying to divert her attention. Thankfully, she didn’t really lay a hand on Chandler earlier, otherwise she would’ve been caught red-handed by the servant.

Even though she had a thick skin, being in the man’s house made it inappropriate.

“Just put it down,” Chandler said.

“Yes!” The servant placed the tray of food on the coffee table in the bedroom.

Once the servant left, Tina started enjoying the snacks. She had to admit, the Hunter family’s snacks were indeed delicious! She couldn’t help but want to have another one.

“Do you like them?” Chandler asked.
