Alpha Louis,”
I walked into the middle of the room and asked, “You have seen Dark once. He is clearly a dangerous person, and I have never seen him before. However, Reuben called you for the first time in five years, setting aside his resentment and hatred for you. It must be because of Dark. Who is Dark, Alpha Louis? What exactly is he?”
I questioned impatiently, ignoring Alpha Adam completely.
Alpha Louis was silent for a long time as if he was struggling with the memories before he replied, “Dark is someone’s darkest desires. He was born of greed, anger, and hatred,”
he said, taking the small hands of the innocent children lying on the bed before he continued. “Years ago, a 17-year-old young man, consumed by the greed of unimaginable power and the desire to claim everything in this world, managed to call forth evil by using forbidden methods. He wished to become immortal and the strongest wolf in the realm. However, evil is evil. It demanded something valuable and irreplaceable in trade. Blinded by desire, he offered his royal powers, which he had inherited at birth. It resulted in the birth of the evilest being in existence in the realm, Dark. Dark was originally the 17-year-old man’s wolf, just separated from his body. That’s why he was considered a ghost. The man and his wolf became two separate beings, unaware of each other’s actions, acting on their own, it was from this point that the disaster started.
“Dark is a walking monstrosity devoid of emotion, driven solely by a primal lust for the malevolent blood coursing through Willow. Through merciless slaughter and wanton destruction, Dark has amassed unfathomable power over the years. Furthermore, his lupine nature grants him abilities akin to specters.”
My mouth fell slightly agape upon learning of Dark’s true nature. He was indeed a werewolf, but unlike any we had encountered before. He existed apart from his physical form, a profound aberration.
“If he poses such a dire threat, is there a means to vanquish him?”
I inquired.
“I don’t know,”
he replied with a solemn shake of his head.
I was taken aback. “You know this much about Dark but you don’t know ”
I bit my lip, stopping myself from speaking carelessly. Over the past few years Alpha Louis had cut himself off from the werewolf wolf, he had no idea of what was going on in the werewolves pack or mysterious attacks.
He looked at me, understanding my thoughts, “I wish I knew the answer to your questions but like me he had also disappeared for years. Of course, his reasons for vanishing seem to be different from mine. For years he never aged and was seventeen years old but looked like in his mid twenties. However, after meeting Willow he seems to have begun to age normally. He is no longer seventeen but around his late twenties. This is all because of Willow. She is a blessing to him and that is one of the reasons he wants her. We also don’t know what other value Willow holds for Dark,”
he explained.
The room fell into grave silence.
“Then do you know who Dark is?”
I questioned but once Alpha Louis revealed his name, I was completely blown away. Everything was fucked up.
Willow
I wanted to do everything within my power to aid Reuben just like he had for me. His loss was no less than mine. We both were wounded and I wanted to heal him with my love but I had nothing to heal.
“So beautiful,”
Dark smiled, his gaze stripping me not only of this gown but of my dignity. He gestured to me to come closer. I dug my sharp claws into the bouquet that I was holding as I slowly made my way close to him.
“Tonight we will become one and there will only be the two of us,”
he remarked, extending his hand out to me.
I look at his hand while slowly clutching the bouquet. Just as I extended my hand to take his, the large door behind us was flung open and a voice came.
“I am disappointed that I was not invited.”
I froze in place, my hand paused before it could land in Dark’s the second I heard Reuben’s voice. I immediately looked back to find him entering the room with his entire torso covered in blood, he appeared disheveled yet he stood as strong as a mountain.
“Reuben the bouquet dropped from my hand when our eyes met. My heart ached with yearning. After six days I finally got to see him.
How had he gotten in here? How had he found me? Time seemed to stand still for me, all I wanted was to run over and hug him tight but Dark growled from behind me, clearly furiously. “How the fuck did you get in here?”
he glared at Reuben.
Reuben chuckled as he lit a cigarette, “You are bringing a new wife into our family that was originally my soulmate, I thought that I should definitely be in attendance for the occasion uncle.”
Reuben’s voice echoed in the room. Once I heard him address Dark as his uncle, it felt like a ton of bricks had fallen on my head.
Shocked, I immediately looked back at Dark, my eyes as wide as an owl’s. Dark was Reuben’s uncle the Alpha King.

“That monster is my brother’s wolf,”
Alpha Louis confessed, revealing how he had witnessed his sibling’s descent into darkness, driven by an insatiable thirst for power despite already possessing the throne. The Alpha recounted the tragedy of his brother’s inability to rein in the lupine part of his nature, so he resorted to transforming it into its own malevolent entity. Alpha Louis acknowledged his own culpability, admitting that his oversight and preoccupation with the Emerald Bright Pack, his soulmate, and newborn son, Reuben, had led to devastating consequences. If only he had diverted his attention from his immediate concerns to his brother, he could have stopped and exposed exactly what types of evil deeds he was committing, perhaps the outcome would have been different.
“Louis, is this the reason you pushed for Reuben to assume the position of Alpha King?”
inquired Alpha Adam.
Alpha Louis nodded solemnly. “I kept my brother’s secret at the behest of our father, it was his dying wish. He was aware of every nefarious deed that had been committed by my brother, but his hands were tied as he lay on his deathbed. The problem was that he valued our family’s reputation above all else. If my brother’s transgressions were to come to light, it would besmirch our royal lineage. I agreed to honor his final request, especially since Dark’s disappearance meant that he was not an immediate threat. I believed that a wolfless King could rule the Kingdom without issue, as long as my brother’s misdeeds remained hidden. However, I desired Reuben to ascend to the throne for the Kingdom’s welfare, never anticipating Dark’s eventual return. My brother had assured me that he would never come back but now I realize that he lied. He even hide the fact that Dark, who is originally his wolf, can take his own human form thanks to the evilness he had gathered over the years. How could a human be different from his wolf? They both are the same,”
he recounted.
Upon hearing the backstory, my head spun. I exited the children’s room and made my way to the bathroom to splash water on my face, hoping to clear my thoughts. The deceit and malevolence of the past now threatened to engulf Reuben and Willow, who remained oblivious to these revelations. Yet, it was Willow that stood the most to lose in this mess due to her evil blood. She was like a once sleeping volcano with that evil blood inside her that could erupt at any point!
I clenched my fists, consumed with worry. What if the evil inside of her manifested itself? With Dark already wreaking havoc, the prospect of Willow becoming another harbinger of destruction loomed ominously.
I closed my eyes out of frustration, berating myself for being aware of such crucial information yet powerless to act on it. Moreover, Reuben remained blissfully unaware of his mate’s lethal powers capabilities.
I drew in a slow deep breath, at that moment memories of my past encounters with Willow flooded my mind. Suddenly, I noticed something peculiar. “Damn it!”
My eyes shot open.
I hastily exited the washroom and made my way to Bix’s house. “Bix!”
I called out upon entering the living room. His home resembled a witch’s den, with every object carefully placed, nothing was to be disturbed or touched unnecessarily.
He emerged from his bedroom, concern etched across his face. “What’s the matter?”
he inquired.
“Mind-link Reuben immediately!”
I urged, my tone desperate.
He furrowed his brow. “Regarding what?”
“The dormant evil within Willow’s blood that must never be awakened under any circumstances!”
I stepped closer to him. “Do you recall how Willow overpowered me in the clearing a few days ago without even shifting into her wolf form? As a pure Omega blood, it’s impossible for her to defeat me. Yet, she did so with ease. Do you know why? Because that day, she was consumed with outrage over my ill remarks about Walter. She was emotionally provoked and lost control without her being aware of it,”
I explained urgently.
“Still, how does that correlate with the awakening of her evil blood?”
