“Well… let’s go,” she changed the subject, got up and headed towards the exit.

It was the end of the event, and many people were gradually walking towards the exit.

However, Nancy had only taken a few steps when a hand suddenly grabbed hers.

She paused and turned to look at Mick, who was holding her hand. “What’s wrong?”

“It’s crowded here, so we won’t get separated,” he said.

But being led by Mick’s hand in the crowd made Nancy’s heart beat wildly.

His warmth was constantly transmitted to her hand as they walked hand in hand, just like an ordinary couple.

And when someone squeezed past her, his other hand would lift up to protect her shoulder, preventing her from being bumped by others.

It was as if she was being carefully looked after.

Looked after?

Nancy lowered her gaze, a hint of self-mockery flashing in her eyes.

How long had it been since she had felt the feeling of being looked after? Even when her mother was alive, she wouldn’t show any care for her because her mother was always trying to please the Schultz family and Clarissa.

If it weren’t for her mother sacrificing herself to save her…

Thinking of her mother’s death, her heart felt bitter again.

When the two of them walked out of the competition venue, Nancy went to a nearby restroom. As she was washing her hands at the sink, a young woman walked over and was also washing her hands.

However, the woman’s gaze was fixed on her reflection in the mirror.

Because the woman’s gaze was too direct, Nancy couldn’t help but furrow her brows.

Just as she finished washing her hands and was about to leave, the woman suddenly spoke up,

“You’re… Nancy, right?”

Nancy was taken aback, “And you are?”

“I’m Jasper, Mick’s sister.” The woman introduced herself generously, “I’ve seen the video of you and my brother taken by someone before… so, I recognize you.”

Only then did Nancy realize that she had met Jasper before at

Mason Reed’s wedding, who was the second child of the Reed family.

At that time, she only glanced at him from afar, so she didn’t recognize him at first.

“Hello,” Nancy said.

“Hello, did you come here alone?” Jasper asked curiously.

“Ah, no, I’m…with…” Nancy hesitated, not sure if she should tell

Mick’s family that she came to watch the game with him.

“Huh? You didn’t come with my brother, did you?” Jasper guessed as he saw Nancy’s hesitation.

And from Nancy’s expression, Jasper knew he was right.

“Did you really come to watch the game with my brother? Is he still outside?” Jasper asked eagerly.

“Um…” Nancy looked embarrassed.

Half an hour later, Nancy was sitting in a private room at a famous restaurant in Emerald City.

In the room, besides her, there were Mick, Jasper, and Jasper’s boyfriend William.

Jasper stared at Nancy with wide eyes, not hiding his curiosity.

Nancy felt a little embarrassed by the attention, but Mick came to her rescue. “Alright, stop staring at her like that. If you have any questions, just ask.”

“Big brother, are you and Nancy dating?” Jasper asked surprisingly, calling Nancy by her first name as if they were old friends.

Nancy almost choked on her own saliva.

Mick, on the other hand, responded casually, “Do we look like we’re dating?”

“Of course, why not!” Jasper said, “Big brother, you’ve never come to watch a game with another woman before.”

“Does watching a game together mean we’re dating?” Mick asked in response.

Jasper hesitated for a moment, then persisted, “But is it or isn’t it?” You see, their parents were worried that Mick didn’t have any feelings for the opposite sex, and even thought he was asexual, unable to develop feelings for anyone outside of the family.

Their parents didn’t even mind if Mick fell in love with someone of the same sex, but whether it was the same sex or the opposite sex, Mick never showed any special interest in anyone.

And now, Nancy was the first.

“No, Mr. Reed and I are not dating,” Nancy quickly said, afraid that the other party would continue to misunderstand.

“Really?” Jasper seemed skeptical.

“Hmm, really,” Nancy smiled slightly. At least this was the truth, she and Mick had not really started dating.

But Mick had said that if he ever really liked her, he would date her.

But…maybe that day would never come.

Of course, all she had to do was maintain Mick’s interest in her to achieve her goal.

“Anyway, Nancy, let’s be friends and exchange contact information. We can chat when we’re free,”

Jasper said positively, although he was a little disappointed.

“Okay,” Nancy agreed.

The two exchanged contact information.

Throughout the meal, William was polite and courteous, with a faint smile on his face, which made

Nancy feel that Jasper’s boyfriend was a good match for him.

Thanks to Jasper, the atmosphere during the meal was quite pleasant.

During the meal, William’s care for Jasper was evident. He helped him with the food and even peeled the shrimp for him. The love in his eyes was so obvious that even Nancy, an outsider, could see it clearly.

Such a relationship is really enviable!

Nancy couldn’t help but admire the beautiful scene of the handsome couple being together.

After the meal, Jasper and William left first. Before leaving,

Jasper didn’t forget to tell Nancy to keep in touch.

Suddenly, Mick asked, “What do you think of William?”

“He’s great,” Nancy replied smoothly.

“So you were staring at him during the meal?” Mick’s jealousy was evident in his words, even though he didn’t realize it himself.

“Ahem! Ahem…” Nancy was really choked by her own saliva this time. Her words sounded a bit strange. “I was looking at him because…”

“Because you like his appearance?” Mick casually asked, but his dark eyes were fixed on Nancy.

“Well… I just think he and your sister make a good match. It’s definitely not because I like his appearance.” Nancy quickly explained. She only appreciated their good looks, as who wouldn’t?

“Is that so?” Mick’s voice rose slightly.

“Yes, I only like your appearance,” Nancy said with a thick skin.

She felt like her words were full of flattery, but she didn’t want

Mick to misunderstand.

“Just my appearance?” His expression was ambiguous, but his tone seemed to have softened a bit.

“Of course there are other things!” She began to rack her brain, “Like how capable you are at work, how good you are at games, and… um, how kind you are.

When we didn’t know each other well, you helped me so many times.”

“Kind?” His eyes flickered slightly, “You’re probably the first person to call me kind.”

Nancy immediately thought of the evaluations of Mick from the outside world, “No matter what others say about you, at least to me, you are kind.”

She said this very seriously, with clear eyes that didn’t waver.

It was precisely because of his kindness towards her that… many times, she felt even more despicable, using his goodwill towards her and his fondness for her to achieve her goals.

But if she didn’t rely on his help, with her own abilities, she probably wouldn’t be able to bring Clarissa to justice.

Mick’s lips curled up, this time he was really smiling, obviously her words made him feel good.

“What about you, do you like me a little?” Nancy couldn’t help but ask.

“Maybe a little.” Mick said, although he wasn’t quite sure what it meant to like someone, being with her didn’t make him feel impatient.

He even felt that having her around was nice, she was interesting. When they first met, he thought she was cold, but when they got to know each other, he felt that she was actually warm at heart.

Ice and fire, shy yet bold.

Like a contradictory existence.

It made him even more curious.

What kind of woman is she!

“Maybe a little..” Although Nancy was a bit disappointed with this answer, at least it showed that Mick had some feelings for her.

“What if I do this?” She took the initiative to stand on her tiptoes, wrapped her arms around his neck, and pressed her lips against his.

Mick’s eyes gradually became deep, but he didn’t push Nancy away.
