But it’s still uncertain whether she’s pregnant or not.

When Veronica was halfway through her bread, Mason arrived. He was a little out of breath, indicating that he had run all the way here after parking his car.

“How did you get here so fast?” Veronica was surprised. It had only been about ten minutes since he called her.

“I wasn’t far from here when I called you,” Mason said. “So, have you got the result yet?”

“Hmm,” Veronica said.

“Did you not eat lunch? Why are you eating bread now?” he asked, glancing at the bread she hadn’t finished yet. It was only just after two in the afternoon, so if she had already eaten lunch, she shouldn’t be hungry enough to eat bread now.

Before Veronica could answer, Shirley indignantly recounted what had happened at the restaurant at lunchtime.

When Shirley mentioned how the other person had poured soup directly onto Veronica, Mason’s face darkened and he emitted an aura of anger.

Even Shirley, who had been angry just moments before, could feel the anger emanating from Mason and closed her mouth.

“So, someone poured soup on you?” Mason asked Veronica.

When he had arrived earlier, his attention had been focused on her hospital test results. Now he noticed that she was wearing different clothes than she had been in the morning, and her hair was still slightly damp.

Veronica nodded awkwardly.

“Did it burn you?” Mason asked.

“No, the soup wasn’t hot, so it didn’t burn me,” Veronica replied.

“Why didn’t you tell me about this?” Mason asked her.

“It wasn’t a big deal, and I was planning on handling it myself,”

Veronica said.

“If something like this happens again, you should call me immediately!” Mason said. He was relieved that the soup wasn’t hot; he didn’t even want to imagine what would have happened if it had been.

“I understand,” she said, understanding his concern.

“Thank goodness you’re okay,” Mason hugged Veronica tightly.

Veronica was startled by this sudden gesture, especially since they were in the hospital waiting area and there were still many patients around.

But even though she blushed, she didn’t push Mason away.

Because she could feel his concern.

“I’m fine, I’ll take good care of myself. Getting splashed with hot soup this time was an accident. I’ll be more careful next time,” Veronica said.

Looking at the two embracing in front of her, Shirley, the third wheel, quickly said, “Veronica, since

Mason is here to accompany you, I’ll head back to school first. Let me know the results when they come out!”

After Shirley left, Veronica checked the time and it was almost time to retrieve her report. So she decided to go to the machine. to scan the code and get the report.

“Give me the barcode, I’ll get it for you,” Mason said.

“Oh,” Veronica replied and handed the barcode needed to retrieve the report to Mason.

The machine was just a few steps away from the waiting area. Veronica sat in her seat and could clearly see Mason retrieving the report.

The machine spit out the report, and Veronica only saw Mason pick it up, lower his head to look at the report, and then stand still in the same spot.

He could understand the report?!

Veronica was stunned for a moment and was about to get up, but she saw Mason raise his head and look at her. His gaze was both joyful and worried.

In that instant, even though Veronica hadn’t seen the report yet, she could tell that she was probably pregnant!

Pregnant… Was there a little life inside her belly right now?

Mason walked up to Veronica and said, “Your HCG and progesterone levels are higher than normal, so you must be pregnant.”

“Can you understand it?” she asked.

“It’s simple enough to understand,” he replied. On the way there, he had searched online and knew that the two data points were the main indicators of pregnancy.

The two of them walked towards the gynecology clinic.

“Veronica, let’s get married,” Mason suddenly said.

Veronica stopped in her tracks and looked at him in surprise.

“Although I originally planned to wait until you graduated before we got married, if you are really pregnant, I hope we can move up the wedding. As for your studies, you will graduate in six months, and whether you want to finish your studies first or have the baby first, I respect your choice,” Mason said seriously.

Veronica blinked her eyes. Although she had thought about having the baby after realizing she was pregnant, she had forgotten that she needed to get married first.

Getting married during college…

It’s a bit too early!

In the clinic, after the doctor looked at her report, he confirmed that she was indeed pregnant. Based on the last day of her menstrual cycle, she was already five weeks pregnant.

However, for the next few days, she needed to come in every other day to have her blood checked to ensure that the pregnancy was progressing well.

When they left the hospital, Veronica was still in a daze, as if everything that had happened felt unreal.

She was really pregnant!

There’s a little life growing inside her belly!

Even though she didn’t feel anything, the miracle of life was already developing in her abdomen, and this strange feeling made her feel dazed.

“What do you think of my proposal earlier?” Mason’s voice in the car brought her back to reality.

“Proposal?” She was confused, but then realized he was probably talking about getting married. Since they were having a child now, then-“Let’s get married!”

Veronica took a deep breath and gave her answer.

And the moment she said her answer, she suddenly felt a sense of relief.

The confusion, worry, and anxiety of being pregnant seemed to disappear with those words.

“Are you sure you’re not just doing this out of obligation?” Mason asked.

“You and I were going to get married eventually, so why not do it sooner? Besides, we’re already living together, so getting married won’t really change anything.”

“You’re only five weeks pregnant, and usually the belly won’t start showing until around four to five months. If we have the wedding before your belly shows, it might be rushed. Are you sure that’s okay?”

he asked.

For him, he wanted to give her a perfect wedding and enough time to adjust mentally.

But for her, getting married now felt like being rushed into it.

“It’s okay. The people who need to get married are us, and the wedding is just to let others know we’re married and to receive their blessings. As long as I love you, you love me, and your family accepts me as part of the family, then that’s enough.”

As for her family… Veronica’s eyes dimmed.

“If you want your father and them to attend the wedding, I can arrange it…”

“No need.” Mason’s words were interrupted by Veronica, “Since we have already made up our minds to cut ties, then we don’t need them to attend my wedding. But I…”

She hesitated for a moment and murmured, “I want to go see my mother, tell her that I’m getting married, and about the baby.”

“Okay, if the baby’s condition stabilizes after the check-up in the next few days, we’ll go see your mother,” Mason said.

“Thank you,” Veronica said.

Her mother had passed away many years ago, but if her mother knew about it from the afterlife, she would be happy for her.

Veronica had almost vomited everything she ate for lunch, and although she later ate some bread to fill her hunger, Mason was still worried that she would be hungry. So he took her to a restaurant.

It wasn’t until they got out of the car that Veronica realized that this was a restaurant specializing in cuisine for pregnant

Women.

”

”

Veronica was a little speechless. Was she too early to come here?

“Aren’t you having morning sickness? The food here is said to be very good on the internet, with both taste and nutrition taken into account. And some pregnant women who are prone to morning sickness especially like the food here,” Mason said.

“Internet reviews? When did you start paying attention to this kind of restaurant?” Veronica couldn’t help but ask.

“When you went to the bathroom after seeing the doctor,” he said.

It was only a few minutes, and in that short time, he found this restaurant online and even read the reviews? That was too fast.

Seeing her doubts, he said, “This restaurant was recommended to me by your friend, she probably found out about it.”

“You mean Shirley?” Veronica asked. After all, among her friends who knew she was pregnant, only

Shirley would recommend this kind of restaurant.

“Hmm.” Mason said.

A warm feeling rose in Veronica’s heart. It was really nice to have a friend like Shirley.

They entered the restaurant and Mason ordered a private room. After they sat down, Veronica had a hard time choosing from the wide variety of dishes.

Sometimes having too many choices isn’t necessarily a good thing.

Also, she was experiencing morning sickness and wasn’t sure which foods would make her feel nauseous.

“Can’t decide?” Mason asked.

“Um…they all look appetizing to me,” Veronica said. “And I’m not sure which foods will make me feel sick.”

“Then let’s order everything,” Mason said directly.
