Filed To Story: Returning to Her Not-So-Poor Family
“Mr. McMillian, I don’t understand” Carl carefully voiced his doubts, “Mirabella is a very good doctor, and she is also Ms. Aria. There’s no medicine she can’t make in this world She also knows that cinnamomum tenuis can save Shirley McMillian’s life Why don’t we let her try?”
Did they really have to use glycyrrhiza and root of purple lotus to invite Dr. Bell? Wasn’t it a waste of money?
Romeo remembered that he had answered this question a long time ago. He said indifferently, “Now my grandmother’s condition has worsened, and Dr. Caden said she doesn’t have much time left.”
If Bella could save his grandmother, that would be the best.
“I’m worried that if my grandmother’s condition is too serious, even if Hippocrates were to come back to life, she wouldn’t be able to save her. But Bella would blame herself and think that her medical skills were not good enough, which would make her feel guilty and sad.”
So, he would rather let an outsider save his grandmother than have Mirabella bear this psychological pressure and carry a psychological shadow for the rest of her life.
“Give him the glycyrrhiza and root of purple lotus and set a time as soon as possible.”
“Yes.”
Carl finally understood why Mr. McMillian had been asking about Dr. Bell’s news.
There’s a girl with excellent medical skills right at his side, why not let her take action?
Turned out, he was worried about putting pressure on Mirabella!
Mr. McMillian was really good to Mirabella!
The plane flew for eight hours and landed directly on the helipad of Moon Villa:
Romeo carried Mirabella off the plane, much to the surprise of the butler.
The butler hadn’t expected that Mr. McMillian to take Ms. Bella on his overseas trip.
And they came back together.
Their poses were so intimate.
A gust of wind blew past, and Mirabella felt a bit cold. When she looked up, she realized she was already at Moon Villa!
She couldn’t believe she had been asleep for so long.
“Are you awake?” Romeo carried her off the plane, his tone gentle, “You can sleep a bit more.”
He had never seen her sleep so soundly.
Mirabella was also a bit taken aback. Who knew she could sleep so soundly next to Romeo without any nightmares?
“Put me down, I can walk.” she said.
But Romeo still held her, “Get some more sleep, eat something, then I’ll take you home.
Mirabella was carried up the stairs by him, already used to his overbearing ways, she didn’t say much.
“When you were asleep, someone called you.” Romeo said.
Mirabella’s heart skipped a beat. He didn’t pick up the call, did he?
“I didn’t answer, but the person texted you.”
Mirabella was visibly confused.
“I really didn’t expect you to be the founder of QY.” Romeo gave a gentle smile, “Is Jaime just your employee?”
“What?!” Mirabella thought.
“Did you sneak a peek at my texts?” she asked.
“The message was on the screen, I couldn’t help but see.”
Mirabella didn’t know what to say.
“I didn’t know that all the QY products were designed by you. In the future, I’ll get you other gifts.” Romeo leaned down to give her a peck, then carried her into the bedroom, “This is my bed, rest here for a bit. I’ll call you when the food is ready.”
“I’m not sleepy.”
“Then just lie down for a while.”
The quality of sleep on the plane definitely couldn’t compare to here.
Romeo was worried that she had to go to work tomorrow and would be all in again without any rest.
She should seize this chance to rest when she can.
After Romeo left, Mirabella looked at her phone. And sure enough, Jaime had sent her several messages.
There were also some encrypted messages that wouldn’t show up directly on the phone screen. After checking them on the app, she replied quickly.
Later.
The chef had prepared the food, which Romeo personally brought up to Mirabella, “Can’t sleep, huh?”
Mirabella was surprised to see him carrying two big plates of food, “You usually eat in your bedroom?”
“Nah,” Romeo put the plates on the table and said softly, “But I’m willing to change all my habits for you. Wait here, there’s more food downstairs. Let me go grab it.” Mirabella watched his silhouette leave the room, a warm feeling welling up in her heart
Outside the window, the lake shimmered in the sunlight, and a sea of flowers swayed in the wind. Mirabella went to the balcony to enjoy the beautiful view and feel the cool breeze.
Romeo came over with two big plátes of food, looking tall and handsome. His gaze at Mirabella was full of adoration.
“Let’s eat here,” Mirabella pointed at the table on the balcony, “The view is great here.
“Alright,” Romeo put down the food and pulled out a chair for her.
After Mirabella sat down, she saw him bring over more food.
After eating, Mirabella said lightly, “I should go now, keep the Cinnamomum tenuis, I’ll make the medicine when I gather the rest of the ingredients.”
“Where are the other ingredients?” Romeo asked softly.
Was it in the triangular zone again? Or other dangerous places? He didn’t feel comfortable letting her go alone.
“Just in Summerfield.”
“I’ll send someone to get it,” Romeo said worriedly, Just tell me the address.”
“Don’t worry, it’s safe.”
Some of the ingredients were in Villa Cascada, some needed several steps to prepare. Anyway, it was a bit complicated to handle.
“I can get it all by tonight,” Mirabella said calmly, “Just send me home first.”
She wasn’t planning on telling him the location of Villa Cascada just yet.
“Don’t work too hard,” Romeo said with concern in his eyes.
Although his grandmother’s condition was important, her health was important too!
“I got it.”
Back at Reflections Villa, Mirabella waited for Romeo to leave before heading to the garage to drive to Villa Cascada herself:
Louisa was having tea in the garden. Seeing her, she said happily, “Bella, you’re back? Come sit and have some dessert, how’s your friend doing? Does she need a doctor? What’s she sick with?”
Last time, Mirabella only mentioned a few things on the phone, so Louisa wasn’t clear about the details. She only knew that Mirabella’s friend was seriously ill and/ needed to go abroad to visit her.
“She’s doing well, don’t worry,” Mirabella said kindly, “I have something to do now, so I need to leave.”
“You’re leaving again? You just got back. wait a bit, I’ll have someone make you some juice. Drink it before you go.”
“I’ll drink it when I get back.”
