He saw her the moment she walked through the doors to the restaurant and nearly couldn’t breathe at the sight before him. Both the boys were with her. Hold on to her hands; she’d brought them with her to this meeting and hadn’t told Wil or him. Not even the boys had texted him that they were going to be here today either.

She looked almost like her old self in that soft pink jacket and with her hair only halflled up and the rest splayed about her shoulders. He had to remind himself that she was not Marrin any. e, that Marilyn had no memories of being Marrin or not that he or Wil were aware of.

She walked across the restaurant without any hesitation, and he saw no bodyguards trailing her and the twins, and although she addressed Wil informally, she addressed him with full formalities. Calvin sighed

EL internally at the way she addressed him, but what more could he expect?

He wanted to hug her, for bringing the twins to meet him today, and it was a lovely surprise. But he also knew that he could not, and he was kind of left speechless at the gift she was giving him today, and that was exactly what it was. She was making an effort to show him she wasn’t going to be keeping him from the twins, regardless of how she felt about him.

His attention moved to his twin sons. They were clinging to their mother for dear life from what he could tell. And when she asked them to introduce themselves, they kind of shrank back into her even more. He realised with her words it was likely just how very tall he was, that might be of concern to them.

He sat down and smiled at them; he had no idea which boy was which until those introductions had been made. They were indeed identical.

“Hi.”

He stated as they stared at him, and he got a timid sounding

“Hi.”

In return from them.

Despite all the texting they did, and photos sent between them, it was still nerve??acking for the two of them to meet him for the first time. He could even understand it. If he’d known they were coming he could only imagine how nervious he’d have felt. Those two little boys of his knew they were coming here today. He watched as Marilyn sat down and motioned for the boys to do so as well. She put them both on the same side as him, and she sat down across the table from him, next to Wil.

He’d not even really noticed that he and Wil had been sitting at a table where five people could be seated. He had just strolled along with Wil and taken up a seat next to the window, where they had a full view of the restaurant entryway.

While Wil had been ordering brunch to be delivered just after 10am and had stated,

“We’ll take the table by the window please.”

Calvin hadn’t thought anything of it, too preoccupied with his own thoughts to even think about how many seats were at this table, enough for all of them to sit here he now realised.

He could see that the boys were a bit on the fidgety side, and he really wanted to hug them, but didn’t actually know if they would want that themselves.

“It’s nice to finally see you in person.”

He smiled from one to the other.

“Gosh, if your mother wasn’t here, I’d not be able to tell you apart at all.”

he told them honestly.

They both chuckled and then pointed to each other and stated their brother’s name before just getting up and running around each other several times and then sitting back down to look at him expectantly, he thought.

Calvin looked from one to the other. They were both wearing the same style of jacket and, due to him actively looking at them and not what they were wearing, he didn’t know which boy was which right this very minute. He chuckled softly and shook his head.

“Not a hope boys, I didn’t take note of what colour each of you were wearing,”

he admitted.

They laughed at him and pointed to each other and stated what he thought was their brothers’ names, and he didn’t know if he actually believed them. They were smiling at him way too big. Calvin moved his eyes to Marilyn.

“She doesn’t know, got amnesia.”

The twins burst out and were suddenly slapping at themselves. They thought that comment was very funny. rugged it off, wasn’t at all offended by their comment, and she didn’t look to be going to help him either. Wil, however, leaned forward and pointed at one of the boys.

“You’re Callum.”

He stated with a smile.

His eyes widened as he looked back at them and then Marilyn once more. She ju

Both his boys turned their eyes on Wil and stared at him.

“How’d you know?”

the boy Wil was pointing at stated.

“I took notice of what you were wearing, when your mum brought you in.”

Wil chuckled.

“Callum, you were wearing a blue jacket and Vincent was wearing a green jacket.”

“You cheated.”

Both boys frowned at Wil.

“Mm, I did.”

Wil nodded.

“Your aunty Anabell also said Callum is more boisterous than Vincent is.”

“I am not, we’re the same.”

Callum stated right back.

Calvin smiled and leaned back in his chair. This he thought was a good start to the introductions.

“Wil honestly wouldn’t know if you were dressed exactly the same.”

Calvin chuckled.

“You can’t tell either.”
