“I do.” The word came out of her mouth.
His body trembled imperceptibly, his gaze becoming even deeper. “Then prove it. Prove that you really want it.”
Prove it? How?
Veronica was puzzled, looking at Mason’s eyes, suddenly understanding something.
Prove it? Prove that she really wanted to try a different kind of relationship with him?
Her gaze shifted from his eyes to his lips, and then, as if gathering all her courage, she lowered her head and kissed him.
She had never thought she would take the initiative to kiss him.

Thinking about what happened last night, Crispin felt both scared and disgusted.
He thought Veronica and Mason from the Reed family were a thing of the past, but yesterday, Mason had taken Veronica away again. Who knows what kind of relationship they have! If Mason and Veronica had any private contact and he still forced Veronica to be with him, he would be done for!

After leaving Crispin, Rosalind asked Archer, “Does Veronica still have contact with Mason?”
“How would I know? That girl never tells me anything. Besides, if I did know, would I still have to beg the Clark family for business? And even let Veronica entertain
Crispin?” Archer replied.
Roselind thought about it and said, “So, Veronica and Mason are still…”
“Let’s ask that girl. If she really still has contact with Mason, then the Barlow family will have a chance to rise again!” Archer exclaimed excitedly.
The Barlow family used to rely on the Reed family and lived a luxurious life.
Archer had asked his daughter many times to apologize to Mason and see if they could reconcile, but his daughter refused and Mason had been abroad for years and was hard to find.
In the evening, when Veronica finished work and returned to her residence, she once again saw her father and stepmother in front of her door.
She frowned, feeling a bad premonition.
Archer put on a fatherly face and said, “Veronica, you have been in contact with Mason again. Why didn’t you tell me?”
Veronica was startled. How did her father know?!

Veronica looked at the man in front of her, the man she was supposed to call father, who had sold her to someone else for the sake of business.
Her father knew full well the malicious intentions of the man named Crispin, yet he set the trap and let her fall into it.
If it weren’t for Mason yesterday, she could only imagine the terrible things that would have happened to her.
“Whether or not I have contact with him is none of your business!” Veronica retorted.
“How can you say that? If you have contact with him…”
Archer was interrupted by Veronica, “If I have contact with him, then you won’t be able to sell me to other men, right?”
“What do you mean ‘sell’? When have I ever sold my daughter?” Archer’s face turned red.
“Isn’t that what happened yesterday? It just didn’t work out. If I didn’t have contact with Mason, were you planning to continue to offer your daughter to anyone who could bring you business? Are you even worthy of being called a father?”
Veronica sneered.
Archer couldn’t bear his daughter’s accusations, “I am still your father. I raised you and you should repay me for that.”
Veronica finally understood that her previous thoughts were just wishful thinking.
“Dad, this is the last time I will call you that. I won’t consider you my father anymore. Our father-daughter relationship ends here! You raised me? Yes, until I was seven, you raised me with my mother’s money. After that, it was the Reed family who raised me. As for repaying you, you have already gained enough from me through Mason and the Reed family over the years. I don’t owe you anything!” Veronica murmured.
Archer was so angry that he trembled, “You…you want to sever our father-daughter relationship? Who gave you the courage?!” He shouted and raised his hand to slap Veronica’s face.

Archer was surprised and quickly withdrew his hand. “Mason, what are you doing here?”
However, Mason ignored Archer and looked at Veronica’s face. “What happened?”
“Nothing, just cutting off the father-daughter relationship with him,” Veronica said bitterly.
Mason seemed to be thinking about something, and Rosalind quickly said, “Mason, Veronica is just throwing a tantrum. She and her father have an unbreakable blood relationship as father and daughter!”
“I’m not throwing a tantrum.” Veronica looked directly at her father and stepmother. “Blood relationship can be cut off. If there is no father-daughter affection, then blood relationship is useless.”
“You–” Archer raised his hand and wanted to hit his daughter again, but seeing Mason beside her, he reluctantly put his hand down. “Veronica, let’s just say you’re talking nonsense.
Auntie Rosalind and I will go back first. You rest well.”

“Then try it. You can’t cut it off legally! You’re my biological daughter!” Archer said viciously.

Everyone was stunned. Veronica didn’t expect Mason to suddenly say this.
Archer and Rosalind looked stunned.
“Mason…what do you mean by that?” Archer asked nervously.
“If she really wants to cut ties with you as her father, then you should just let it be. There’s nothing that can’t be cut off,” Mason said calmly.
Archer’s face changed. “But legally…”
“Legally, it’s just a piece of paper. It doesn’t mean anything. Even if you’re legally father and daughter, you can still go your whole lives without seeing each other, can’t you?” Mason said.
Archer was at a loss for words facing a younger generation, especially one he had watched grow up.
