“Are you interested in playing house?” she asked curiously.

After all, it’s usually girls who are interested in it, and it’s rare for boys to be interested, especially since

Roger is already a college student.

He turned his head, his dark eyes looking at her deeply, and in his gaze, there seemed to be a kind of reproach.

Jasper froze, his gaze making it seem like she had asked the wrong question.

“No, I’ve never been interested in this kind of game,” he replied coldly.

When the two returned to school, Roger walked silently towards the boys’ dormitory building, while

Jasper walked gloomily towards the girls’ dormitory.

Today was a complete failure. Not only did I fail to get the straw, but when we were coming back, Roger was clearly angry. It all started when we passed by the toy store window and I asked a question. That’s when he got upset.

But she didn’t understand what exactly made him angry.

As soon as she returned to her dorm room, she saw a pile of snacks she liked on her desk.

Meave, her roommate, said to her, “These were sent by

William. He came to the dorm to see you, but you weren’t here, so he asked me to bring them up for you.”

Jasper suddenly felt a little warmth in her heart, which reduced the sense of frustration she had experienced with Roger earlier that day.

“Speaking of which, what about your childhood friend? Are you really not interested in him?” Meave asked with a smile.

Since they had been roommates for a while and had gotten to know each other well, Jasper’s dorm mates had discovered that although she was the princess of the Reed family, she was not as unapproachable as they had imagined. On the contrary, she was very approachable, so they started to make some small jokes and chat with her like normal people.

Jasper rolled his eyes upon hearing this, “Why does it sound like you’re asking me to do something unethical?”

“Well, you know, I think William’s feelings for you go beyond just childhood friends. At the mixer the other day, when Roger asked if you were interested in dating him, William’s face changed and he even pulled you aside. I think he likes you,” said the roommate.

“Yeah, I think so too!” chimed in Horea, another roommate.

Jasper furrowed his brow, “But if he really feels that way, why doesn’t he just tell me?” William had never expressed his feelings before.

“Maybe guys are just afraid of rejection,” guessed Horea,

“After all, if a confession fails, it could ruin the friendship!”

The other two in the dorm nodded, clearly agreeing with

Horea’s statement.

Jasper’s eyes showed a hint of confusion, and Meave asked, “What about you, Roger and William?

Who do you find more interesting? They’re both quite popular at school!”

Them…Jasper hesitated. She had completely different feelings towards them. She approached Roger because she suspected he was Lawrence, while her relationship with William went beyond friendship due to years of camaraderie.

It was like they were kindred spirits, yet also like family.

Many times, William could understand her emotions and needs without her even having to speak.

It can be said that William understands her even better than her own brother, Mick!

The next day, during lunch with William, Jasper couldn’t help but look at him from time to time.

As everyone in the dormitory had speculated, does William like her? Not the childhood friend kind of like, but rather…a romantic interest?

Although she was still inexperienced in matters of the heart at 19 years old, she wasn’t completely clueless either.

“What’s wrong? Why have you been staring at my face all day?” William’s voice suddenly rang out.

Jasper snapped out of her thoughts and realized she had been caught staring.

She hesitated for a moment before asking directly, “William, do you have someone you like?”

He was taken aback, not expecting her to ask such a question.

As she looked at him with an open and honest expression, it was clear she genuinely wondered about this.

Her clear and candid gaze made him feel as though telling any lies in front of her would be a sacrilege.

“Yes,” he admitted truthfully, his voice slightly hoarse.

Yes, he liked her. He had liked her for over a decade, ever since he first laid eyes on her. And as time went on and they experienced various ups and downs together, his feelings for her only grew stronger.

To him, she was his redemption, the person who saved him from the shadow of his mother. Even his decision to leave the Barlow family and become William instead of William was because of her.

Even his return to the Barlow family, from William to William, was due to his connection with her.

Just because he wants to become someone worthy of her, someone who can one day obtain what he truly desires!

“So… do I know the person you like?” she asked as her second question.

His eyes flickered slightly, “I know.”

This answer made Jasper’s heart inexplicably tense. Could it be true, as her roommate had guessed?

Throughout their lives, she and him had almost nothing to hide from each other. Even when they were in different cities, they often had video

Among the people she knew, she had never seen him particularly interested in any girl, and even their conversations rarely touched on other girls.

Jasper took a deep breath and asked her third question directly, “So, do you like me?” She didn’t want to beat around the bush or guess.

She wanted a clear answer.

He looked at her with a steady gaze, her question was unexpected yet expected.

Suddenly, he smiled and answered with a gentle voice, “It’s you.”

From beginning to end, it was only her!

Jasper stared blankly at the person in front of him, so… does he really like her?

They have been together for so long that sometimes they can even ignore each other’s appearance.

The person in front of him has a handsome face, looks gentle and refined, and when he smiles, it reminds people of the spring breeze.

No wonder he is so popular in school.

But now he says that he likes her. So, how should she respond?

For a moment, Jasper and William found themselves staring at each other in silence.

“I admit that I like you, but I’m not expecting an immediate response from you.” He spoke up, as if sensing her hesitation. “You can take your time to think it over and give me an answer later. And until you’ve made up your mind, you don’t have to give me any answer at all.””

She blinked her eyes and said, “But if that’s the case, then you…you’ll have to keep waiting, won’t you?”

“I’m willing to wait, and you don’t need to feel any burden,” he said. “Jasper, between us, everything is still the same. In fact, nothing has changed. It’s just that you now know that the person I like is you.”

“But… when did you start liking me?” She asked in confusion.

“It’s been a long time, but if I had to say when I really made up my mind to like you, it would be during the time I lived with the Reed family.” He replied.

She widened her eyes in surprise. Oh my god, he was only a few years old back then!

“You were still very young at that time, right?” She said in disbelief.

“Well, very young,” he answered with a smile.

“But back then, could you be sure that your liking for me was a romantic one, between a boy and a girl?” she doubted, thinking that even if it was young love, it couldn’t have been that early.

“At that time, of course, the concept of ‘liking’ couldn’t have been so clear-cut. But even then, I had already decided that I wanted to be with you forever. As I grew up, I gradually understood what this feeling really meant,” William said.

Jasper stared at the person in front of her, feeling her heart suddenly in disarray.

He had been speaking in a gentle voice all along, and there was no pressure in his words. But she couldn’t help feeling at a loss, and subconsciously didn’t want to disappoint or sadden the person in front of her.

But what kind of feelings does she have for him?

During afternoon class, Jasper kept thinking about this question.

After finishing the public class in the afternoon, Jasper walked out of the lecture hall and saw someone passing by the classroom door. He walked over and said, “I heard that Roger from the chemistry department got into trouble with some thugs outside. It seems like he was surrounded by them outside!”

When the name Roger entered his ears, Jasper immediately stopped the person and asked, “What did you say? Roger was surrounded by people outside?”

“Yeah, it seems like it happened in the alley on the next street. Some classmates saw it!”

“I heard that Roger provoked the girlfriend of that thug!”

“How could Roger be interested in her? It seems like the girl was the one who actively pursued Roger!”

The other person and their companions were talking, while Jasper quickly ran towards the school gate.

When she arrived at the alley that others had mentioned, there were already many people gathered there, including some students from Stanford University.

Jasper squeezed her way into the crowd and saw only Roger, who was confronting a dozen or so young men, some of whom had tattoos on their bodies.

One of them, in particular, glared at Roger and said, “Today, you’re going to kneel down and apologize to me. If you do, I’ll forgive you. Otherwise, you can forget about studying at this school!”

Despite the other person’s harsh words, Roger remained unfazed and calmly replied, “I already told you, I don’t even know your friend. And as for her feelings towards me, I can’t control that.”

“What do you mean you don’t know her? She came all the way to our school just for you and even confessed her feelings to you outside the library!” the other person shouted in anger.

Roger remained composed and said, “Do I have to know every person who likes me?”

“You…you think you can act tough just because of your looks?” the other person sneered,

“I don’t have time to talk nonsense with you guys here. I’ll say it one more time, move aside!” he said.

As soon as he spoke, the thugs were instantly furious and attacked Roger directly. The surrounding crowd gasped in shock.

Upon seeing this, Jasper quickly dialed the emergency number and then, after some thought, quickly dialed his own bodyguard’s number!

She knew that her father would send bodyguards to protect her from the shadows outside the school. Once she left the school gate, there should be bodyguards from the Reed family around her.
