Chapter 142 – Goddess’s Design His Fated Mate Willow Novel Free By Pooja

Filed To Story: Goddess's Design His Fated Mate (Willow & Reuben)

“Reuben,”

I whispered, tears streaming down my cheeks as I covered my mouth with both hands. What had just happened? Everything had been normal, and we had been living happily together just half an hour ago, but now… “They are going to execute him…”

I was going to lose my soulmate, and there was nothing I could do about it. His execution was taking place under a royal decree. Even if I went to the King and explained that Reuben was innocent, no one would believe me, especially when Alpha Benjamin had testified against him.

“How could Alpha Benjamin lie?”

I exclaimed, gripping my hair as my heart pounded wildly in my chest. “Why would he do it?”

My mind raced with a thousand possibilities for the Alpha’s actions, but no matter the reason, it had cost me my mate’s life. The mere thought of losing Reuben sent me into a frenzy.

Clasping my fists at my sides, I refused to accept the idea of losing Reuben. He couldn’t die, I was determined to save him. Wiping away my tears, I hurried back into the packhouse and mind-linked Mia, instructing her to come to the packhouse immediately.

I quickly searched for my car keys, and as I turned Mia had just entered the living room. “Willow, what’s wrong? You called me in such a hurry. Is everything all right?”

she asked, her expression filled with concern.

“Mia, I don’t have time to explain but I have a favor to ask,”

I said urgently.

“Tell me!”

she exclaimed.

“Please take care of Wyatt and Lori for me. Oran and Bix are not in the pack at the moment either, so please don’t leave my children until I return. You will be staying at the packhouse,”

I instructed.

“Alright,”

she nodded, and I quickly passed by her.

“But where are you going?”

she yelled after me.

I paused with clenched fists. “To Wade Moon!”

With that, I stormed out of the packhouse and drove away at full speed.

I had to visit Alpha Benjamin and ask him why he framed Reuben. I needed to gather evidence to prove Reuben’s innocence before it was too late. Once the Alpha King realized that Reuben was not responsible for those mysterious attacks, I could save him.

“But what if we can’t find any evidence?”

Ceri asked. As she asked, my hand tightened on the steering wheel.

I took a deep breath and held my foot down on the accelerator even more. “Then… the King better watch his back because I’ll bring Reuben back even if it costs me my life!”

I growled, about to cross the territory in a matter of minutes when I received a mind-link from Bix.

“Willow, I caught an intruder when I was reentering the territory,”

Bix informed me, surprising me.

“Please handle it on your own, Bix. I’m in a hurry, Reuben is…”

I began, but Bix interrupted me.

“I can’t handle it when the intruder is calling your name. They are refusing to speak to anyone else but you no matter the consequences,”

he explained urgently.

Frowning in surprise at the intruder’s insistence on meeting me, I asked, “Who are they?”

Just as I questioned, Bix standing at the border, came into view but he wasn’t alone. He was with the intruder.

My eyes widened when I saw who it was. I immediately slammed my foot on the brakes and got out of the car in a panic. “Sky?”

Ella

Why was it so cold? My brows furrowed in confusion as I slowly opened my eyes, only to find myself lying on the floor next to the wall that I had been leaning against. Had I fallen asleep?

Blinking rapidly, I recalled how the darkness had consumed me out of the blue. It was as if I had been drugged then fallen asleep! Alarmed, I sat up to look at the clock on the wall in front of me. I had been out for around half an hour, basically since Willow had left the room. I recalled hearing a knock coming from the door downstairs and then I…

I sensed something was amiss and swiftly exited the room. Having abstained from food and drink for a day, it was implausible that I had been drugged. Yet, how had I dozed off. Upon descending to the living room, a chilling sight awaited me – evidence of a break-in: shattered windows, indications of a struggle, and clues that something or someone had been dragged away. Furthermore, Reuben and Willow were nowhere to be found.

“Goddess! Have Reuben and Willow attacked?!”

I put my hand on my forehead in disbelief.

“It seems like that’s the case,”

Walter’s deep voice reached me and to my surprise, he had been in the living room, perhaps even before I arrived downstairs. He appeared to have come from a less frequented path of Emerald Bright Pack.

Our eyes met briefly, reminding me of the wildness his had held when he had forcibly brought me back, confined me in the room with him, and watched me like a predator guarding its prey until Willow returned. His silent non stop eyeing had been frightening after his proposal to sleep with him in exchange for helping my pack. This hunter… he was truly despicable. I averted my gaze from him in disgust.

He chuckled at my reaction. I clenched my fists but decided to ignore him and focused on the CCTV cameras in the living room.

“How did they get broken?”

I asked with a frown.

“Someone deliberately smashed them,”

Walter’s voice came from behind me, then I noticed he was standing right there. My heart quickened slightly. His manly smell was stronger.

“That seems impossible,”

I turned to face him. “Emerald Bright is way too secure. How could an outsider attack the packhouse? No one in their right mind would attempt it with Reuben inside. It seems impossible,”

I pointed out.

“It’s only possible if the outsider wasn’t actually an outsider but someone who knew Reuben,”

he murmured, nodding towards the dining room where the remnants of three broken cups were visible.

“Who could it be?”

I bit my lip. “The pack’s Alpha and Luna are missing, the packhouse has been attacked, yet the pack members are acting normal. Could it be that they are just as unaware as me? But that seems unlikely. Could it be the work of that man with mismatched eyes? He already controles people’s wolves and makes them vanish…”
