Chapter 141 – The Omega Destiny

I looked up, the mountain ridgeline seemed to shift and ripple. A slab the size of a freight container tore free from the face of the mountain, dragging down a sheet of ice and with it. The roar that followed was deafening-part avalanche, part landslide. The air vibrated with raw, unstoppable energy. Rocks the size of homes were perceptibly shifting and peeling away from the edge of the cliff, dislodged by the blast of the crater.

My Gul

We looked at each other and sprinted. Behind us, the mountain ridge collapsed like a slow-motion avalanche, Chunks of rock and snow smashed into the floor around us causing the ground we were on to shake with violence. One boulder came down with enough force to make a crater next to the crater we had just made.

Dust and debris clouded the air for a full minute before silence settled in again, deafening

Raven rose to her feet after I rolled off her. I had her smashed under me for protection. She turned to me, covered in snow, dirt and powder, both of us breathing hard, I immediately pull her up and run my hands all over her body, checking for injuries.

“Should have gone with a quarter,” She laughs a little, dusting herself off and shaking her head. At least she isn’t pissed at me.

“Yeah,” I said, spitting out the rest of the dirt I found in my mouth. “Let’s log that under lessons learned,”

We stand again assessing the damage and now we are missing the side of a mountain with two craters in the ground. Perfect,

“How pissed will Thane be when he finds out you blew up half a mountain?” Fireball runs her eyes over me, checking for injuries herself, but ! doubt she would admit it.

“We Fireball. We are mated now. We are one, thus you are equally as guilty, and he will probably be pissed. We need a plan.”

“Maybe someone will screw up worse than us.” Raven says and I smile. Yeah, that’s right, us girl. Us.

“We don’t need that. We just need to talk Ayla into a swimming pool. Then they need two holes,”

“That could work.” Raven nods her head and shakes out her wild hair.

“I think we should just….go.” I say backing away from the area, pulling her with me toward her car.

“You got mind-linked didn’t you.” Raven laughs at me while I open her car door.

“Yes.” I’m not sure how to avoid giving report to Thane on the holes we just made or the mountain we screwed up.

“Maybe if we told him we were going to carve his face into the mountain?” Fireball suggests as I pull away from the site,

“I’m going to tell him it is his fault, I mean at this point, what does he expect from me? It’s like he doesn’t even know me.”

“True.” Raven nods her head, agreeing with me as we head back to our apartment, thoroughly ignoring the mind-link because I can’t concentrate on it with the ringing in my ears. At least, that’s the excuse I am going with.

The drive back to our apartment has me contemplating our future and where we should live, do we want pups…that usual stuff but I have feeling Raven doesn’t like to talk about that kind of thing…feelings and all.

“You want to know what I am thinking about?” I ask Fireball, already knowing she is going to snark off in some capacity,

“No.”

“I’m thinking about our future.”

“Ugh…I’m going to throw up. Don’t get sappy on me right now. I have rocks in my ass crack.” Fireball rolls her eyes and shakes her head at me.

“Noted. I will find them later. On the barfing side…I was thinking about finding us a new place.” I look over at her again to study her features. She doesn’t look…..disgusted or angry. She looks like she is thinking about it too, which is a great step.

“I need more rooms to bang my mate in?” I suggest wiggling my eyebrows up and down just to piss-her off.

“Having a bedroom that isn’t in the kitchen would be fine by me.”

“Are you going to be okay if we don’t find one by the time you have your heat. I can tell it is getting close.”

“I know. I’m feeling….different and what’s does it matter? I can screw you anywhere.” Raven arches her eyebrow at me and I smile back at her. Her feistiness goes straight to my dick. Ite likes her mouth, for more reasons than just one.

“Should we pull over somewhere and put that to the test Fireball?” I ask her while readjusting myself in my pants.

I’m Going to Knit So Hard.

Ayla

I decided I needed a distraction from my own thoughts. One minute I’m confident and feel very self-assured and the next I’m a mess of self- doubt and worry. That is why I am currently in the empty bedroom next to our joint bedroom/nest room, planning our little pup’s room. Except, I’m indecisive and Thane’s no help.

“Maybe we could paint little forest animals on the wall over here?” I stand in the center of the room squinting, turning, pacing, and thinking, but still haven’t figured out what I want.

“Do you paint?” Thane turns to me with a questioning eyebrow raised up.

“I don’t think so.” Now I find myself wondering if I’m good at anything which isn’t helping either.

“Why are you scowling?” Thane says with a little laughter in his tone.

“I don’t think there is anything I am good at.” I truly can’t think of anything I do that I can say that I am great at.

“When you flick your tongue underneath….”

“I meant hobbies…things for fun, dork.” I interrupted him, blushing at where his thoughts are. If mine goes there, I won’t ever make any decisions about this room.

Before I was abducted, I was confined to the estate grounds. I couldn’t do anything of fun really. Books and drawing were my only hobbies, and baking. If fighting with your sibling was a hobby, I excelled at that. I wish I could argue with her again.

“Do you want a hobby Little Wolf?” I know he is considerate enough to not question me on my life before the abduction, but I also know he was hinting at it earlier.

“I didn’t have any hobbies before Thane. I read books and drew pictures. I wasn’t good at it either. I wasn’t allowed to do anything, actually.” I frown at him, and he walks over to me and pulls me against him tightly.

Thane kisses me on the forehead. “You can get a hobby, but here quickly there will be a little one keeping us both busy.”

“Another reason to get a hobby now, that way I can be really good at it by then.” I don’t know if it is sound logic, but it makes sense in my head. Thane laughs and pulls back from me.

“Alright. We will get some hobbies. Anything you want to try?”

“I haven’t thought about it before. Maybe knitting? It is winter that would give me all kinds of things to knit.” I could make hats and scarves and…

“Oh, I know! I could make stuff for Thane Jr.” I squeal with excitement. This is just what I need to keep my mind busy.

“Wait, Thane Jr?” Is this a thing? Did you decide this?” Thane laughs at me while looking at me with admiration. Everything he does makes me feel loved. I love the way he looks at me. The bond in my chest is warm and peaceful.

“Well, no. That’s just what I am calling him.” We should discuss names soon. I really have no preferences but that doesn’t mean Thane doesn’t.
