With a smile for Juliana, Sophia tightly grasped the check.

Juliana thought Sophia had accepted the check. So she let out a sigh of relief. It was like she had been feeling worried about it for a long time.

“I knew it. I knew that you wouldn’t resist this amount of mon….”

Juliana paused when Sophia tore the check in front of her.

Sophia’s eyes were fixed on the check when she spoke out,

“If you offer me all of your money, I will still not accept it. I love your son. No one can buy love with money.”

She grasped Juliana’s hand and placed the two pieces of paper, which were now useless.

“Aunt, I think I should leave the house now. You may prefer to have breakfast alone with your son. It is nice to meet you again.”

Saying that, Sophia headed to the entrance.

Juliana dashed over to her, clutching her arm tightly in rage.

“To him, you are merely a pet. I will make him realize that. Do you know why I replaced his maids with young girls? It’s because I wanted them to seduce him and distract him from you. He will kick you out of his life once he feels that.”

Juliana’s voice was low. But Sophia heard everything clearly since they were very close in distance.

Sophia’s eyes welled up with tears. “Why are you do…?”

“What’s happening here?”

A deep voice echoed in the house.

Both of them turned their heads toward the stairs as soon as they heard the voice.

While looking at them, Bryan was making his way down the stairs.

Juliana immediately let go of Sophia’s arm. Meanwhile, Sophia turned her head away and wiped the corners of her eyes.

When Bryan was about to approach, Sophia spoke out,

“Alpha, I have to go to my house right now. See you in the office tomorrow.”

Without looking at him, she bowed her head and left his house.

As soon as she stepped out of the house, tears began to fall down her cheeks.

She wiped her tears right away. She did not want to cry for anything. She believed Juliana had also spoken with Bryan about it. But he loved her and refused to leave her. That was why Juliana came to speak with her directly; in fact, she offered her a large amount, believing she would accept it.

Sophia decided to hail a cab, but at that moment, Bryan’s car appeared in her sight.

Bryan’s driver came out of the car and opened the back door for her.

“Miss, Alpha ordered me to drive you home.”

A small smile formed on her lips. That man really cared for her. It was not her imagination but reality.

Even if he was busy handling his mother right now, he sent his driver to send her home.

She got inside the car. The driver hurriedly went back to his seat and started the car.

Sophia turned her head to the window and looked outside the world. Her mind was fixed on what Juliana had told her.

Suddenly, she heard the sound of a ring. She turned her head and thought it was her phone’s tone. She then realized she had forgotten her phone at Bryan’s house.

“Miss, I forgot to give you the phone.” The driver said that and gave a phone to her.

Sophia held her phone and realized Bryan had remembered to send it to her.

She checked her phone and noticed several messages from the “Admirer” number.

She read them one by one.

“I just walked by your favorite pastry shop. I wish I could buy one for you.”

“Why are you not replying to me?”

The message was sent to her phone early in the morning.

She was confused as to why Bryan sent her messages while he was with her in the morning.

She then saw the last message, which she had just received.

“Are you okay?”

She stared at the text. If she had only seen the last message, she would have continued to believe it was Bryan.

However, she had already read the first two messages, implying that the person was not Bryan. Because Bryan was present when the messages were sent.

She did not wait. She sent a message asking,

“Who are you?”

She waited for a while until the reply came to her phone.

“How about meeting tomorrow at that restaurant near Night Shade University?”

“Bryan, I am asking you something,” Juliana said as she stared at her son.

She had been questioning him for ten minutes about why he had called that girl at home, but he had not responded.

“Bryan, why are you…”

She paused when Bryan’s gaze lifted from his plate and shifted to her.

Juliana gulped as she met her son’s cold gaze. She averted her eyes from him.

Her son was not an ordinary Alpha. He had a history of dominance.

It was the prophecy of the fortune tellers that an Alpha would come to this pack and extend the pack to the highest reach, which no one had ever thought of.

During the time that Bryan was inside her womb and she was only three months pregnant, she had to endure the kind of pain that other pregnant women normally do not experience during that time.

In fact, doctors even told her that it would be tough for her to have this child. Nevertheless, she did not agree to the suggestion of having an abortion and instead made the decision to keep the child.

After some time had passed, when she was in the sixth month of her pregnancy, a fortune teller informed her and her husband that he could see the arrival of the Alpha of the Night Shade Pack, which everyone had been waiting for all of these years.

She and Alpha Max were happy about it.

When Bryan was born, the entire pack was filled with joy and celebration.

As time went on, Max and Juliana both witnessed the changes that occurred in his behavior and powers. Max had never considered going after other people’s packs. However, a few years ago, just after Bryan had been given the responsibility, another pack thought about attacking the Night Shade Pack.

That was the time when all the packs realized who Alpha Bryan was.

Before the enemies could reach the border, Bryan attacked the pack and demolished the whole pack in one night.

From that night on, all the Alphas trembled in fear whenever they heard his name. They were afraid to even think of attacking the pack.

Bryan was not behind in the business world either. Business was like his favorite hobby. If any Alpha offended him, he punished them in the business field. The Night Shade Pack had grown to become the most developed pack just because of his extraordinary business skills.

“If you keep asking the same question and I am not replying to you, that means I don’t want to, Mom.”

Bryan’s voice was sharp. His voice did not even shake a little to talk with his mother.

Juliana slowly turned her head to look at him. She was sitting beside his chair. They were having breakfast in the dining room.

“I can’t understand what you have seen in that girl,” she muttered in anger.

She reached for the knife and the fork, and then she started slicing the steak. But her movements froze when Bryan questioned her.

“What did you say to her that she had to leave my house like that?”

Juliana looked at Bryan and shrugged her shoulders. “I didn’t tell her to leave your house.”

Her grips around the fork and knife tightened as she thought, ‘Instead, I told her to leave you and your pack.’

“Then why did she leave?” he asked in a calm tone.

“I don’t know. Bryan, what made you fire that maid? She is a beautiful young girl who can…”

Bryan’s eyes darkened. Placing his fork on his plate, he crossed his arm over his chest.
