‘I’ve confiscated the phone from the boys as punishment, one week.’ She sent right back and leaned back in her chair and wondered what Calvin would do with that information. Would it set off his need to come here and get what he wanted, or would he handle it?

Had all that contact he’d just gotten to have with the boys negated that stalker itch, Cameron had talked about, what Cameron and his team had been looking for. Now they didn’t know if Calvin had anyone watching them at all, and she was back to square one on that front. It was very annoying to know this.

Even though she had most of her memories back now, and she understood he wasn’t a violent man or hadn’t been. She’d also done her research on obsessions, and they didn’t just go away overnight. The question now was, did she try again or just leave it alone altogether? She didn’t know about that, that would take her and Calvin past the restraining order finalisation date.

There was also thoughts for her now about the twins. Could she get them to out themselves about what they’d done? Admit it to her, or would they continue to lie about it? She didn’t know what was going to happen with them at this point. She was just as frustrated and annoyed with them as much as she was with

Calvin.

She put that frustration and annoyance into her writing to get it out of her system, and then packed up and returned to the house before the boys got home from school, and she conveniently left that phone in her writing studio on her desk as she locked the door. She’d told Wil she’d confiscated it. So Calvin wouldn’t be sitting around waiting for them to text him.

A lie for a lie she thought until they could come clean with her. She didn’t think they were going to like it either, when they found out, but this was how she was going to teach them that lies hurt others.

She watched them come home and dump their bags on the floor like they always did, and go off to the coffee table to get that phone only to find it wasn’t there. They turned and looked at her.

“Mum, where’s the phone?”

“Oh I’m sorry boys, I had a dizzy spell on the bridge this morning, and it fell off the bridge into the creek. It’s gone. I texted Wil, Calvin’s lawyer, about it. So they’re aware you’ll not have access to it for a few days. You’ll get it back in a few days.”

They were just staring at her.

“How could you just drop it like that?”

Callum gasped at her.

She looked right at him and wondered just how much she should punish them. Clearly her injuries from Calvin weighed less on them than talking to the man that had injured her.

“Well, I wouldn’t be dizzy and have dropped it in the first place, if Calvin had not hurt me now would I. So I guess you can put that blame on him, not me.”

she muttered and got up to go to her room she understood he was their father but that one hurt more than she’d expected it too.

“Pick up your bags, I’m sick of doing it for you, it’s not that bloody hard to do,”

she muttered, and her unhappiness and annoyance could be heard in her tone.

Wil

He stood in Calvin’s office waiting for him to get off the phone; he was already on a business call, because the person he was talking to was on the East Coast. It might be 9am here, but it was many hours ahead over there. He couldn’t believe that Calvin had yet again managed to tick Marilyn off, without even going near her.

Although he did understand that it was the twins that had contacted Calvin, the screenshots that he’d gotten of their conversation had shown him that. So Marilyn herself understood this, but the question was how long it had gone on was still on his mind, he was betting all weekend, and likely until she’d found out this morning.

He wasn’t so much as mad at Calvin right that minute, just annoyed really. It was also his birthday today and yet here he was having to deal with a new unhappy situation between Marilyn and Calvin, not what he wanted to do today, of all days.

“Yes Wil,”

Calvin stated when he got off the phone.

Wil held out his phone to the man, he already had the pictures Marilyn had sent him up there. He saw Calvin read her response to what she’d just found out about him and the twins.

“Hmm, to be expected I think.”

He just nodded.

“That’s all you have to say on the matter?”

Wil muttered.

“You’ve got Marilyn’s actual mobile number I see.”

Calvin raised an eyebrow at him.

“Yes, and I’m not giving it to you, she told me not to, so don’t ask or try and get it from me.”

Wil stated, of course, Calvin would release that at that moment.

“I didn’t start that conversation, Wil, and you were the one that told me not to ignore any of them. I followed your advice. I also couldn’t contact her to tell her they were messaging me now, could I?”

He had Wil on that one, seems the man had already thought things through.

“She’s unhappy,”

Wil reiterated.

“Look, I didn’t hide that conversation from her. Vsent my schedule as per normal, yesterday at 0830. I also didn’t ask the boys to delete the conversation. So she wouldn’t see it. That should show her that I know she’ll see it at some point. Not hiding it from her,”

Calvin stated.

Wil sighed now as he looked at Calvin because he’d not done that, and he could have.

“She’s opted to confiscate the phone from the boys for a week over this. So don’t expect to hear anything from them in that time.”

“Alright.”

Calvin nodded.

Wil sat himself in the chair across from Calvin and just stared at him for a long moment.

“What was the conversation with the boys about?”

he asked.

“I only got two pictures of the start of the conversation, not the entire thing.”
