He raised his hands as if he had surrendered himself.
After hearing Nolan, Sara’s eyes became brighter and more excited. She stood up and stretched out her arms to embrace Sophia.
“You talked to him for me. What a surprise! I had no idea! How sweet of you!”
Sophia smiled while patting her arms. During the time that they were ordering their meals, they discussed the destination that Sara had chosen to go to with Nolan.
Sophia felt good that Sara was living a happy life with Nolan. Both of her friends were her genuine companions and treasures in her life.
When they decided to leave, they walked to the entrance while talking with each other.
“By the way, River Moon Pack is not that bad, right? What if we stopped by there for a day?” Sara asked for a suggestion from Sophia about her vacation.
After giving it some thought, Sophia gave a slight nod of her head.
“Everything is good there. But make sure to bring a tour guide. People in the village don’t speak our language. They spoke in different languages.”
Sara’s steps halted as she asked,
“Wait, how do you know about the village people?”
Sophia had not told her about her losing track in that pack. She had almost forgotten about it since something big happened to her later, which was when she and Bryan became one.
“I forgot to tell you. I was lost there.”
“What?” Sara asked with a shocked tone.
Nolan was also surprised. “Then how did you get back?”
Suddenly, everything about that day flowed through Sophia’s mind as she recalled the man who helped her.
“Someone helped me.”
“Who?” Sara asked with a perplexed tone.
“I don’t know him but he said his pack members call him ‘Adon’. He was pronouncing it differently, as if he were speaking in a different language.”
Sara tapped her finger on her chin and said it with curiosity.
“Adon? Strange name.”
Sophia’s eyes fell on Nolan, who looked bewildered. She asked,
“Do you know anything about it, Nolan?”
He immediately shook his head and replied,
“Nothing much. I heard this name somewhere.”
“Where?” Sara asked.
“I can’t remember where. But that’s a French name. It has a powerful meaning.”
“What does it mean?” Sophia asked with a frown.
Then Nolan replied,
“It means Lord.”
“Lord?”
Sophia was shocked. Sara immediately took out her phone from her bag and searched for the name.
“What the hell! Nolan is right. But what is the reason that people would refer to a man as their Lord?” Sara asked while thinking about it.
Sophia tried to recall everything about that day. Indeed, she found that man to be powerful, but he maintained a very calm demeanor around her.
“I think he did not want to tell me his name; that’s why he joked with me.”
“It’s possible.” With a slight nod of his head, Nolan stated.
The expression on Sara’s face changed as she said,
“Should we search to see if any of the pack’s members call anyone their Lord?”
Nolan held her hand and shook his head. “We should not waste our time with some stranger.”
He then turned his attention to Sophia and said,
“As for you, I believe you should also forget about it. What would we do to talk about a stranger?”
Sophia felt that he was right. “Yeah. I thanked him for the help anyway.”
All three of them nodded their heads and went out of their universities.
“I will drop you off at your house,” Sara told Sophia.
Just when Sophia was about to nod at Sara, Bruce appeared in front of them.
The moment they became aware of him, they came to a complete stop.
Bruce looked at Sophia and asked,
“Sophia, can we talk?”
Sophia averted her gaze from him. “There is nothing to talk about, Bruce.”
“Sophia, please. You haven’t spoken with me for the past few months. I never tried to approach you as well. I just want to talk to you now. Nothing else, I promise.”
Sophia heaved a sigh and nodded her head in agreement with him.
“Okay.”
She then turned her attention to Sara and Nolan and said,
“You two can go. I will take a bus.”
“Are you sure?” Nolan asked, glancing at Bruce.
“Do you think she is not safe with me?” Bruce asked while glaring at him.
Nolan chose to ignore his glare and instead focused his attention on Sophia. She reassured him and told him to enjoy their vacation since they were going to leave tonight.
Sara hugged Sophia before leaving. She did not forget to whisper in Sophia’s ear.
“I wish you the best of luck with your Alpha. Don’t forget to enjoy the days with him.”
Sophia did not reply to anything.
With a blush on her face, she waved at them.
“How are you?”
She heard Bruce and turned to him. “I’m fine.”
“Did my brother tell you something about me? After the day that you went to the pack house, you eventually stopped talking with me.”
Sophia did not know what to say to him in reply. She had no grudges against Bruce anymore. She had forgotten about her past. She has her own man now. It was clear that she had no concern for anyone else.
Her eyes wandered around while she thought about what to say. Suddenly, she noticed Luisa staring at them.
Sophia rolled her eyes and returned her focus to Bruce.
“I don’t want to lie to you, Bruce. Your brother doesn’t want me to talk to you.”
Bruce tightened his fists. “I knew it. That was why I told you not to tell him about the study project. He went so far as to bribe the professor in order to break up our groups.”
“Talking about it is just a waste of time. Why did you want to talk about it?”
Taking a quick look at her watch to determine the time, she then stated,
“I have to go back home. Is there anything else you want to say?”
Bruce was hurt. He wanted this girl back. She used to be his girl, but now she’s his brother’s mate. Only he knew how hurtful it was to even think about her and his brother.
“Let me walk you to the bus stop at least.”
Sophia stared at him for a while, trying to understand why he was doing this.
