Actually, she was very clear about what they were saying and discussing.

At that time, she seemed to have become someone special, who didn’t fit in with those around her.

“Simon, we can’t stop others from discussing whatever they want, but we can make ourselves stronger.

We can confidently express our own thoughts and not avoid interacting with people because of fear or annoyance. If you do, you’ll only become more and more avoidant in the future,” said Valda.

Simon was listening, but it’s unclear how much he actually absorbed.

Valda didn’t expect the child to understand everything at once, as many things require gradual guidance.

“There’s one more thing that’s very important,” Valda couldn’t help but say. “Simon, in the future, you must learn to distinguish right from wrong. Don’t let appearances blind you and make decisions that you’ll regret for the rest of your life. In this world, there are some things that can be corrected, like mistakes that can be erased with an eraser and replaced with the correct answer. But there are some things that cannot be corrected. Once you make a choice, you can’t turn back.”

“Like my dad and mom?” Simon asked.

Valda didn’t say directly, but instead said, “If we think someone else is wrong, then in the future, we should try to avoid making the same mistake ourselves.”

Simon listened, seeming to be deep in thought.

They arrived at their destination, a tall tower by a lake in Deer

Capital.

The three of them strolled by the lake and then climbed the tower together.

Since Simon had been there before, he acted as a tour guide and showed Valda and Brian around the scenery.

When they reached the top of the tower, Brian saw that there were amulets for sale, so he bought three.

One for each of them.

Valda looked at the amulet in her hand with some surprise, then looked at Brian.

“What’s wrong? Don’t you like it?” he asked.

“No, it’s just that I don’t think you’re the kind of person who would buy something like this,” Valda said.

“Maybe it’s because sometimes people become more superstitious about things they care about,” murmured Brian. And she, the one he cared about, “I hope this amulet can really keep you safe and protect you from disasters.”

Valda smiled at the words and said, “Then I’ll keep this safe.”

Then she squatted down again and said to Simon, “You also need to keep this safe. Uncle Brian bought it for us specifically to keep us safe.”

The little one looked at the peace charm for a moment, then raised their head and looked at Brian. “I also want to buy one for my mommy. Uncle Brian, can you give it to her when you see her?”

Brian paused for a moment and said, “I can help you pass it on to your mom’s friend, who can then give it to your mom.”

“Uncle Brian, aren’t you my mommy’s friend? Dad told me that you saved mommy,” Simon asked.

“I saved your mommy before, but I wouldn’t consider myself a friend.”

“I see,” muttered Simon. He reached into his backpack and pulled out his child’s phone. Then, he walked up to the stall selling peace charms and scanned the code to buy one.

Watching Simon skillfully scan and pay with his phone, Valda couldn’t help but sigh with admiration.

Simon bought a peace charm and handed it over to Brian, saying

“You must make sure to give it to mommy’s friend.” The little guy’s expression was very serious.

“Okay.” Brian took the peace charm and responded.

In the afternoon, the three of them returned to tMason Swansonty area and planned to find a restaurant for dinner. While Brian was parking the car in the parking lot, Valda suddenly exclaimed,

“Oh!”

“What’s wrong?” Brian asked.

“I think I saw Grace,” said Valda.

I saw Grace getting out of the car with her three children in this same parking lot.

Brian parked the car and Valda got out of the car holding Simon’s hand. They shouted towards Grace’s direction, “Grace.”

Grace looked towards the voice and saw her. She immediately responded with a greeting and waved at her.

After a moment, Brian and Jason also got out of the car. When they saw each other, they silently faced each other for a moment.

Who would have thought that we would meet in Deer Capital, it’s such a coincidence.

Two groups of people approached each other.

Valda looked at the three children with Grace, two of whom were

Mick and Jasper, the triplets, and the other was William from the Barlow family, whom she had seen before at the birthday party for the Reed family’s youngest daughter, Jasmine.

At the same time, Grace also looked at the children with Valda, who were… Amber’s children, Simon.

Although Grace recognized the little one, she had only seen pictures of Amber’s children in the information before and had not really seen them in person.

“How did you guys…” both sides said in unison, then laughed together.

“Jasper is participating in the piano competition at Deer Capital today, and Mick and William also want to watch the competition live, so Jason and I brought them here to eat dinner after the competition.”

Grace spoke first.

“I came to Deer Capital to participate in a comic exchange meeting, and Brian accompanied me. After the exchange meeting ended, I wanted to stroll around Deer Capital. Simon happened to come to find me today, so I brought Simon to play together.”

Sure enough, it was really Amber’s son, Simon! Grace thought to herself.

Just then, Brian took out the amulet he bought for Amber and handed it to Grace. “Here, this is for you to give to Amber.”

“For Amber?” Grace looked confused.

“It was bought by Simon for his mommy,” said Brian.

Grace suddenly realized and looked at Simon, “Is this what you want to give to your mommy? Auntie

Grace will definitely hand it over to your mommy herself.”

Simon looked at Grace and asked, “Are you Mommy’s friend?”

“Yes, I am your mommy’s friend,” Grace replied. “I also know that your name is Simon!”

The little one blinked and then asked, “So… do you happen to know how Mommy is doing in Emerald

City?”

“I know some,” said Grace.

The little one had a look of wanting to know but feeling too shy to ask.

Grace smiled and said, “Shall I tell you what I said earlier?”

Suddenly, a glimmer of joy flashed in those dark eyes.

Grace looked at Valda and Brian again. “Since we’ve coincidentally met, why don’t we have a meal together? I also want to talk to Simon about his mother’s situation.”

“Okay,” Valda responded.

Brian and Jason didn’t have any objections, so the group headed to the restaurant.

In this shopping mall, there is a popular children’s restaurant that Jasper really wants to go to. Mick

Reed and William also have an attitude of liking it as long as Jasper likes it.

And Simon, clearly, is also interested in this restaurant.

So, no one raised any objections.

After entering the restaurant and ordering some dishes, a few children started chatting away. Of course, Jasper was the most talkative, while Mick rarely spoke. William mostly followed

Jasper’s topics, and Simon would occasionally ask some questions.

Jasper is clearly confident about her piano competition. Even though the results won’t be out for a few days, she doesn’t feel particularly drawn to any of the peers who participated in the competition.

“I thought I would never meet another kid who plays the piano as well as William,” grumbled Jasper.

Grace said, “So, do you really want to meet another kid who plays the piano really well?”

“Of course, if there is someone like that, I would definitely pull them along and play many wonderful pieces!” said Jasper. In fact, she wasn’t too eager to win awards. What she really desired was to meet someone her age who played the piano well.

William, who was sitting next to Jasper, lowered his gaze gently and his body stiffened slightly, almost imperceptibly.

Jasper, do you want to meet another child who plays the piano well?

Isn’t he enough on his own?

A sudden panic arose in his heart.

If one day, another person who plays better than him appears beside her, would she like that person more?

Even though she said he was a very important friend to her and that she really liked him, this panic was something deeply buried in his heart.

“Is playing the piano interesting?” Simon asked curiously.

“How interesting.” Whenever the topic of piano comes up, Jasper naturally has an endless supply of things to talk about. He starts telling Simon stories about famous pianists and the beauty of playing the piano. He even mentions some unique ways of playing, which Simon Gregory finds quite fascinating.

“Simon, do you want to learn piano? I can give you a lot of sheet music! And I also have notes from when I learned piano as a child!” Although she called them notes, when Jasper was only 4 or 5 years old, those notes were really only understandable to herself.

However, her enthusiasm made Simon feel a bit embarrassed to refuse. “Then next time, I’ll try to learn it too. It seems like it would be fun to play together with you.”

“Great, great!” Jasper nodded repeatedly.

But suddenly, William Atkinson interjected, “You won’t be able to learn it.”

Simon furrowed his brows, sensing a hint of hostility from William.

Naturally, boys don’t like to admit defeat.

“Who says I can’t learn it? If I want to learn, I will definitely learn it!” Simon said confidently.
