Since she had gone back, wasn’t it better this way?

But there was a faint feeling of pain in his heart.

“Why do you seem upset when you hear that Valda Theller has left? If you want her to come back, why don’t I call her right away?” Patrick Weiss said.

“No need,” Brian Hart said, looking up at Patrick Weiss. “Why are you here?”

“Of course, to visit a patient,” Patrick Weiss said. “You were injured so badly, and you didn’t even tell me. If I hadn’t run into your parents, I wouldn’t have known about it until you were discharged.”

“It’s just a minor injury,” Brian Hart said lightly.

“Yes, a minor injury that required eleven stitches,” Patrick Weiss retorted. “You’re so reluctant to let Valda Theller get hurt that you’d rather take the hit yourself?”

He pursed his thin lips and murmured after a while, “Yes, I am reluctant.”

“You-” Patrick Weiss paused. “By the way, have you fallen in love with

Valda Theller? If a man is willing to take a stab for a woman, it’s safe to say he’s in love, right?”

Brian Hart remained silent for a while before slowly saying, “I don’t know.”

“How could you not know? Didn’t you love Grace?” Patrick Weiss asked, puzzled.

Valda Theller was lost in thought, wondering if it was possible for her to replace Grace in Brian Hart’s heart if given enough time.

“If you believe that Brian Hart cannot fall in love with you, then how long do you think it will take for him to find someone he truly loves? After being rejected by Grace, it took him so many years to find you. So now, after you reject him, how long will it take for him to find the person you speak of? Ten years?

Twenty years? Or will he never find them? Valda Theller, how many years do you think you have left in your life?” Patrick Weiss’s words felt like heavy stones pressing on Valda Theller’s chest, making it hard for her to breathe.

“Valda Theller, I still believe that you are the only one who can pull Brian Hart out of his despair, and he is the person you cannot afford to miss in your life. If you miss him because of your own arrogance, I bet you will regret it for the rest of your life!” Patrick Weiss said with conviction.

Valda Theller’s gaze fell on Brian Hart, who was still sleeping on the hospital bed, and she remained silent for a long time.

When Brian Hart woke up, he only saw Patrick Weiss in his hospital room, but not Valda Theller.

Brian Hart’s eyelashes trembled slightly, and his phoenix eyes lowered. She went back… it was only natural for her to leave after taking care of him for two days.

Besides, he didn’t want her to stay just out of a sense of duty, did he?

Since she had gone back, wasn’t it better this way?

But there was a faint feeling of pain in his heart.

“Why do you seem upset when you hear that Valda Theller has left? If you want her to come back, why don’t I call her right away?” Patrick Weiss said.

Brian Hart remained silent for a while before slowly saying, “I don’t know.”

“How could you not know? Didn’t you love Grace?” Patrick Weiss asked, puzzled.

“It is precisely because I have loved Grace that I am unsure now,”

he once knew that his feelings for Grace were love, but later on, love gradually turned into obsession.

Now, his feelings for Valda Theller are different from those for Grace, but… “However, I am very clear that I like Valda Theller and do not want her to be hurt in any way.”

“Hey, I really don’t understand you,” Patrick Weiss raked his hair and said, “It’s so simple for others to fall in love, why does it become so difficult when it comes to you?”

“Okay, if you’re not busy, then please leave. I want to rest,” Brian Hart issued a direct order to leave.

“Hey, I came all the way here to see you, and you’re just going to kick me out like this?” Patrick Weiss complained.

“Do I have to keep you in my hospital room for dinner?” Brian Hart retorted.

“…” Patrick Weiss choked on his words, “Are you taking it out on me because Valda Theller left?”

Two sharp gazes stared directly at him.

“Okay, I’m leaving!” Patrick Weiss quickly said, knowing that the patient’s wishes come first. He got up and walked to the door.

the room.

In the hospital room, only Brian Hart remained.

He was stunned for a moment, and then he raised his hand to cover his forehead, awkwardly smiling for a while.

Just now, he was feeling down because Valda Theller had left, but now, because of Patrick Weiss’s words, he was feeling elated.

All his emotional ups and downs were all because of Valda Theller.

What was wrong with him… Even though he liked Valda Theller, this was too much…

At this moment, the door of the hospital room was opened again.

“What are you doing back here? Do you have something else to say to me?” Brian Hart sighed, thinking that it was Patrick Weiss who had come back.

“Um… if you don’t want me to come back, then I’ll just stay outside the room,” a timid voice sounded.

Brian Hart suddenly froze and looked up at the figure standing at the door.

She was carrying a backpack and standing there with a puzzled expression on her face. Her round eyes were as cute as a squirrel’s, and he wanted those eyes to always look at him like that.

His heart was beating fast, and he slowly opened his mouth, “No, I really like it.”

He liked her being by his side, he liked her looking at him, he liked her so much that he couldn’t even describe it.

Was his feelings for her really just liking her?

At this moment, he couldn’t help but doubt it.

Valda Theller went back to take a shower, changed her clothes, and brought her sketchbook, intending to draw when the hospital was quiet.

After all these years of drawing, if she didn’t draw for a day, she would sometimes feel itchy.

At night, Brian Hart took his medicine and fell asleep, but Valda

Theller still couldn’t sleep.

She held her sketchbook and drew Brian Hart while he was sleeping.

Now, only when he was asleep, she dared to draw him. If he was awake, she wouldn’t have the courage to draw him, afraid that when she was drawing him, she would meet his gaze and couldn’t control her own feelings.

As she finished the last stroke, she looked at him on the paper, feeling a little dazed.

The painting reflects the heart. This painting seems to be telling how much she loves this man.

Some emotions, even if she tried to restrain and forget them, might not be as controllable as her rational mind thought.

If emotions could be controlled by reason, then perhaps they could not be called emotions.

In her mind, she couldn’t help but think of what Patrick Weiss said earlier today.

Was she really the only one who could pull Brian Hart out of the dead end? And if she missed Brian

Hart, would she regret it for the rest of her life?

She pursed her lips and set aside her sketchbook, silently watching him on the hospital bed,

Would she miss him like this?

And what about him? How long would it take for him to find someone he could love?

WA

She was afraid of her future jealousy, which could ruin their present happiness. She was afraid that he loved Grace too much and would never love her,

Actually…she was really afraid of a lot of things in this relationship.

But…was it really going to end like this? Valda Theller’s hand couldn’t help but stroke Brian Hart’s cheek, feeling his warmth in her palm.

“Brian Hart, can I really do this?” She murmured, asking him and herself.

Just then, Brian Hart’s brow furrowed and he shook his head from side to side, looking uneasy. “Valda Theller…don’t…”

Valda Theller was taken aback. Was he having a nightmare? And he dreamed of her?

Then she saw his forehead break out in a thin laver of sweat, and

“Brian Hart?” she shouted.

But he remained asleep, murmuring, “Don’t don’t. Valda Theller..you can’t, absolutely can’t…”

Valda Theller frowned. What did he dream of? What did she do in his dream that made him say “absolutely can’t?

But in his current condition, he might have a fever. The doctor had warned her to be especially careful about whether he had a fever.

Thinking of this, Valda Theller quickly pressed the nurse button next to the bed and waited for the nurse to come.

But just as Valda Theller pressed the button, Brian Hart, who had been closing his eyes, suddenly opened them and looked at her with his dark eyes.

“You…you’re awake?” Valda Theller was stunned. “You seem to have a fever. I’ve pressed the nurse button and the nurse will be here soon…”

Before she could finish her sentence, he sat up suddenly and hugged her tightly.

“…Brian Hart?” Valda Theller was surprised.
