Filed To Story: Their Bullied and Broken Mate by Teri Petry
Just as he started to climb onto the bed to do whatever he wanted with me, the guard jumped to his feet. “Mr. Oliver, we have to go! We are under attack!” he yelled. However, he didn’t stop what he was doing. He positioned himself between my legs and inserted himself deep inside me. He was extremely rough, and slammed himself inside me over and over. No matter how much I cried or screamed into the towel, he wouldn’t stop. It was only after his release did he dismount me. He quickly dressed and ran up the stairs.
No sooner as he had reached the top, I heard something tumble back down. I heard raised voices, but I started to lose consciousness again. Everything was muffled and jumbled up. Was I being rescued, or was someone else coming to hurt me?
Falling in and out of consciousness, I would try to open my eyes. I would get small glimpses of what was going on, and someone was definitely carrying me. There was so much fighting, and I thought I saw my brother, Maddix. “Mads?” I called out. Whoever was carrying me whispered, “It’s OK, Lette. I’m getting you to safety.” I didn’t recognize the voice, but I didn’t feel danger from them.
I was taken to a truck outside and wrapped in a blanket. A girl I recognized from last night’s event wrapped her arms around me. As the stranger who was carrying me walked away, I noticed it was Simon, Asteria’s mate. “Simon?” I called out. He turned to me, and came back. “Alette, you are alright. I am going to help your brother and Damian. Just stay put, OK?” I nodded my head, and the girl pulled me closer to her. “Sweety, my name is Hillary. I won’t let anything else happen to you,” she said. For some reason, I felt like she was telling the truth.
I closed my eyes, and finally heard Alaska’s voice. “Lette, I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you. The drugs, the drugs were too much. I am still feeling the effects. I’m sorry,” she said. She retreated back into the back of my mind, and I could feel her sadness and guilt. I whispered back to her, and hoped she heard me. “Alaska, it isn’t your fault. You were affected just like me. We are a team, remember? I love you.”
Laying there with my eyes closed, I could hear the commotion outside. So much fighting. The truck I was in was filling up quickly with other girls who were being held captive. Most of them were still knocked out, and some looked worse than I did. Some looked as if they were holding on to life.
Finally, I heard the voice I needed to hear. “Alette?!” he yelled. I tried to call out to him, but my voice wouldn’t work. “Please, someone help him find me,” I strained. The girl holding me laid me down, and moved to the end of the truck. “She’s in here!” she yelled. I could feel the truck shake as he climbed in. I heard him thank her as he bent over to pick me up. “Baby, I’m here. I’m so sorry I was late, but I’m here. I will never let you go again!” he cried. He fell to his knees with me in his arms, and just rocked me as he cried.
“I knew you would come,” I whispered into his chest. “I knew you would.”
He held me tighter, and I heard my brother’s voice. “Is she good, Damian?” he asked. Damian shrugged his shoulders, but couldn’t speak. Maddix and a guard helped him from the truck with me in his arms, and we were led to a warm car. I was finally able to open my eyes to look at my mate, and I was saddened by what I saw. “Damian? Don’t be sad. I don’t blame you, you saved me.” I said.
“Baby, I was too late. You’ve been hurt, and I can never change that. I promise you that I will spend a lifetime helping you heal though. I love you Alette,” he said. I snuggled in deeper into him, and told him I loved him too.

*Maddix POV*
1 month later
It’s been nearly a month since we rescued the people of Ross Lake. I say people because it was more than just the girls who were kidnapped for the hell they were put through by Jameson Issacs and his clients. He is being held at Spirit Mountain. I have given Damian authority to handle what happens, since Alette is his mate.
My sister is a shell of herself. She isn’t the lively wild child we knew her as. She even dropped out of school. She said that her place was with Damian, and she had barely left his side. He told me that she has panic attacks if he is away from her for longer than a couple of minutes. Riley has suggested we send mom’s old therapist to Spirit Mountain to help her work through this.
