“It’s alright.” Brian got up and turned around to say to Valda Theller, “Let’s go ashore.”

“Okay,” she replied, and they went ashore.

Brian was soaking wet, so he checked into a hotel room near the canyon.

The room Brian asked for was the best, of course. It had everything and was elegant yet luxurious. It even had several rooms and two bathrooms.

“The bathrobe is in the bathroom. Your shoes and clothes will be washed and dried by the housekeeping staff. We should be able to return to tMason Swansonty in the evening,” said Brian.

Valda Theller replied, “Oh, okay. I’m sorry you got wet when you accompanied me here.”

Brian said, “It’s not your fault. You don’t need to apologize to me at all. Alright, wash up quickly, or you’ll catch a cold easily.”

Valda Theller then entered one of the bathrooms.

Brian’s hair was wet, and doubt flickered in his cold eyes.

‘What’s wrong with me? When I saw Valda Theller almost falling into the stream earlier, I went straight to the water to catch her without thinking.’

He knew that the stream was shallow. She would be fine even if she fell, but his body instinctively reacted differently.

‘What does that mean? Am I starting to care about this woman? ‘Has the good impression I had of her before become affection?

‘Can I really fall in love with Valda Theller? Can I fall for the woman who suddenly walked into my world? Can my love for her replace my love for Grace?’

Falling in love with Valda Theller would be the best outcome for him and everyone.

‘Can I do it?’ He was still stuck in the past after all these years. Even though he struggled to get out of the mess, he always failed.

‘Can Valda Theller do it?’ With a wry smile, Brian walked into the bathroom, turned on the shower, and let the water wash over his body.

When Valda Theller walked out of the room in a bathrobe after washing up, she saw Brian sitting on the couch. He was wiping his wet hair with a towel.

Brian was also wearing a white bathrobe. As soon as he saw Valda Theller come out, he said, “Are you done?”

“Yeah,” she replied and approached him, but she suddenly found scratch marks on his arm. However, the cuffs of his bathrobe moved as he wiped his hair, so she could not see clearly.

“Don’t move!” she said suddenly as her hand quickly gripped his wrist. He paused and looked at her quizzically.

The next moment, she lifted his bathrobe sleeve and saw a bloody scratch.

“You’re hurt!” she exclaimed.

Brian glanced indifferently at the cut on his arm. “I think I was scratched by the rocks in the stream when I fell just now. It’s just a minor injury.”

Valda Theller said, “We’d better disinfect the wound and apply some medicine on it. Otherwise, it’ll be troublesome if it becomes inflamed. The hotel probably has some emergency medicine. Wait here.”

As she spoke, she went to the landline and called room service to ask them to send over some medicine.

Moments later, she ended the call and let out a breath. She walked back to Brian and said, “It’s a good thing that the hotel has the medicine we need. Someone will bring it upstairs later.”

“It’s just a minor injury. Don’t worry,” said Brian.

However, his words did not put Valda Theller at ease. “What about your body? Are there any other injuries?”

“I don’t think so,” said Brian.

Valda Theller worriedly said, “You don’t think so? Didn’t you check yourself when you showered? No, let’s check again in case we missed any injury.”

“Check? How are you going to check?” he asked.

“You have to take off your bathrobe, of course. Let me see if you have…” She fell silent in the middle of the sentence, her face already red.

‘What am I talking about? I actually asked him to take off his bathrobe. I don’t think he’s wearing anything under his bathrobe…’ With that in mind, she could not help glancing at his chest that was vaguely obscured by his bathrobe.

“Do you want me to take off my bathrobe?” Compared to Valda Theller who was blushing, Brian was calm as if Valda Theller had just said something common.

Valda Theller instantly had no idea whether to answer yes or no. Just then, the doorbell of the hotel room rang. Valda Theller hurriedly got up and said, “I… I’ll get it!”

The hotel staff delivered the medicine Valda Theller needed at the door. When she walked back to Brian with the medicine, she blushed and said, “Let… Let me take care of that cut on your arm first.”

She said and put the medicine on the coffee table. She rolled up his bathrobe sleeve before disinfecting the wound with iodine solution. Then, she cautiously applied ointment for him.

However, she still looked at him anxiously after applying the ointment. After all, he had fallen on his whole back, hitting the stones at the bottom of the stream. She wondered if his back was injured…

“What’s the matter? Do you want me to take off my bathrobe?” Brian’s voice rang in the air.

Valda Theller hesitated and finally took a deep breath before saying, “Okay, take it off!” She spoke as if she had made a resolute decision.

Surprise flickered in Brian’s eyes. Then, he slightly loosened the strap of his bathrobe and pulled off the collar. The upper part of the bathrobe slid down his body to his waist, and she instantly saw his chest and back.

Valda Theller instantly felt her heart beating violently.

Thump! Thump! Thump! It thumped as if it was about to jump out of her throat.

His upper body was bare in the light. His wet hair was a little messy, toning down his usual indifference and adding some nonchalance. He had an angular face, delicate features, and a beautiful outline…

Everything about him was like a work of art-flawless and stunning.

Valda Theller was in a trance until Brian’s voice rang again. “What’s the matter? Are you hurt?”

She came to her senses and calmed down. She went around behind him and looked at his back.

Fortunately, there were no new wounds or scratches on his smooth skin.

“No… No,” she muttered as she gulped. She suddenly understood why the female characters in some comics and films could not help having their way with men.

She had the same urge now.

She had the urge to have her way with him, kiss him, and…

‘Stop!’ Valda Theller quickly reminded herself!

“Okay.” Brian tugged at the bathrobe again before leaning over and looking at Valda Theller. “Would you like to see the lower part?”

‘The lower part?’ Valda Theller turned redder and quickly turned around, saying, “No… No thanks. You can check yourself. You… You can apply the ointment yourself if you’ve hurt yourself.”

She stammered, trying to stop herself from overthinking. If she went on, she might force herself upon him.

“Okay,” he replied.

Fortunately, Brian found no injury except a scratch on his arm after checking himself, which was a relief to Valda Theller.

The two spent the next few hours in a hotel room.

Brian looked through his phone, checking for messages. Meanwhile, Valda Theller had nothing to do.

Looking at the hotel brochure by the bedside, she found several pieces of white paper and a pen. She picked them up and began sketching Brian.

It was not the first time she had sketched Brian. She usually drew Brian quickly and smoothly, but she kept pausing today. When she got below his neck, she could not help picturing the way he looked after he took off his bathrobe just now.

The sleek collarbones, sturdy chest, and captivating abs… The image was deeply imprinted on her mind.

When she came back to her senses, the piece of paper in her hand showed a sketch of Brian after taking off his bathrobe!

Valda Theller stared at the paper in her hand, embarrassed. ‘… I can’t believe I drew this! Brian mustn’t find out, or he’ll think I’m a pervert!’

Valda Theller hurriedly crumpled up the sketch in her hand and pinched it.

“What’s the matter? Is it a bad drawing?” Brian’s voice rang out as his dark phoenix eyes looked toward her.

She met his eyes and replied guiltily, “Yeah, it’s… not that good.” It was actually too good that she outperformed herself. Anyone who knew him would recognize it was him in the sketch!
