She just nodded at them and returned to editing, only to hear that phone chime a few hours later while they sat eating dinner, and frowned, as both boys left the table and raced off to check the phone. She wouldn’t have it at the table.

Their dinner was forgotten in favour of what was going on with the app

“His in Texas mum.”

Cal called out to her.

“Alright, come back and finish your dinner,”

she stated, and saw them both look at the phone and sighed internally

“Bring it with you if you must.”

She stated.

They did just that, sat at the table and the phone was right between them, and they were eating and watching it, talking about seeing the air strip and then, when they thought he must have landed and got into a car. When they saw Wil and Calvin split up and go in different directions, it was a new novelty to them, and she wondered if it would go away or stick with them.

She heard that phone ding about an hour later and the boys looked up at her.

“Mum, it’s a message.”

She nearly sighed. Yes, don’t use the phone as a phone she thought to herself,

“Bring it here.”

‘I’m home, what you’ll see on the app is where I live, Calvin.’ Was all it read. She handed it back to the boys after reading it out to them and closed the message.

She was tempted to message him

“No texting allowed, remember.”

But she had the distinct feeling he would respond to that, and it would start a conversation, something he probably wanted but that she was not about to get into with him.

Marylin/Marrin

Marylin/Marrin

Calvin

Lou pulled the car up outside the front of Wil’s apartment building and Wil looked right at him before getting out of the car,

“Do not succumb to texting or calling that phone, Calvin. I have a feeling Marilyn will take offense to it. She could well have agreed to this condition in order to test your willpower as well as your intentions.”

“Understood,”

Calvin nodded.

“Although Wil, I think it’s important that she also knows when I get home today. So I think a single text to state I’m home is acceptable, and one at the office tomorrow, so she knows where that is as well. Yes.”

He put to Wil.

That phone she’d been given hadn’t moved once from her home location, it had been completely stationary within 50 minutes of her leaving the hotel that morning.

Wil was just sitting looking at him. He seemed to be debating with himself the answer to Calvin’s question

“I won’t if you tell me not to.”

Calvin offered up

“I just think she, and I guess the boys, have a right to know where I live, seeing as I know where they are.”

Wil sighed a little.

“Alright.”

He nodded and then pointed a finger right at him.

“Keep it formal, and do not expect her to text you back. Do not get mad if she doesn’t open it or respond to it, and text her again. Do you. understand me?”

“Yes,”

Calvin nodded.

“I’m a grown up.”

“Really? Your behaviour of late indicates otherwise.”

Wil commented

“If I get an email from Liam about her being annoyed in any way. It’ll mean she feels you’ve breached your contract. So keep it short and directly on point. No long??inded greetings or appearing to want to talk and interact with her. Formal, not informal.”

Wil warned him and got out of the car.

Calvin smiled.

“Baby steps, not only for me.”

he murmured to himself as Lou pulled the car out and headed for his apartment.

He smiled as he walked inside and tossed his overnight bag on his bed, then sent a short direct text to that phone. He left his phone on that message as he stood in the kitchen and made himself something to eat. Smiled when he saw it was read.

That didn’t take very long at all. He stood and watched for a response from her, because he was in fact hoping for some sort of snarky comment about he wasn’t allowed to text her. He sighed a few minutes later when it didn’t happen, and he wondered if she to thought about why he’d sent it in the first place.

Was it him trying to initiate a conversation with her? It was in part, but another part of him was thinking the address of his penthouse might jog/her memory in some small way. He’d never moved; still lived exactly where he had when they were married. So he was hoping she’d be curious about where he lived and check the address, maybe google it and see what the building looked like, and that might just bring about a mer two of her being here.
