Looking at the two dolls in her hands, Valda Theller smiled, looking happy.
Brian felt that the woman in front of him was easily content as he watched her. She looked like she had gotten something precious when all she had gotten was some cheap dolls.
In the past, the women he dated usually looked this happy because they had been given jewelry or good film resources.
“Hey, do you wanna watch a movie?” Valda Theller asked Brian.
“Okay, is there a movie you’d like to watch?” Brian asked in reply.
“Yes, but… uh… it’s an animated film.” She hesitated and said. “Do you watch animated films?”
“Animated films?”
“It’s not for kids. It’s mainly for adults. The film is called Clear Blue Skies and is about…”
Valda Theller wanted to tell Brian about the main content of the film, but he said, “I know this animated film. Hart Group’s film company invested in it.”
“Huh?” Valda Theller was dumbfounded. ‘Is he one of the investors for the movie I want to watch?’
“So you’ve seen the movie?” she asked.
“I haven’t seen it. I’ve only read some written reports. Although Hart Group invested in them, I don’t watch all the films I invest in.”
Valda Theller thought about it and agreed. Hart Group invested in so many films. If he watched all of them, who knew when he could finish them? “Let’s go and have a look,” said Brian.
“The voice actors for the film are famous. The trailer looks good too. I think the country’s animated films are slowly improving,” Valda Theller said excitedly. After all, animation and comics were related. “I wonder if I can have the chance to direct a big-screen animated film like this one day.”
“What’s the matter? Do you want to be an animation director?” He seemed surprised.
“I only have the thought, but I’m still a long way from it. It’s a step-by-step process. Of course, I might end up just thinking about it.” Valda Theller smiled lightly. After all, she was lucky enough to be doing what she loved.
Talent was only part of the process of becoming an an If an animated film was to be played in cinemas, the time and money needed were far greater than ordinary films, which was why there were so few animated films.
“I can help you if you really want to be an animation director,” said Brian.
Valda Theller was startled. She would have thought it a joke if it had come from an ordinary person.
However, it would… come true if it came from Brian’s mouth.
It was because Brian could do so.
She hurriedly said as she waved her hands. “No, no! I’m not good enough to direct an animated film yet. Besides, animations are investments with huge risks. I don’t want you to help me when I’m incapable of it yet. You’ll lose a lot of money. I’d better stick to doing what I’m capable of.”
“It doesn’t matter even if I lose a lot of money. But since you don’t want to, I’ll invest in your animation when you think you’re capable enough in the future, okay?” said Brian.
Valda Theller smiled and did not refuse. Instead, she said, “Okay, it’s a deal!”
2/4 When the two came to the movie theater, Valda Theller suddenly said, “Please wait here for me. I’ll only take a minute.” With that said, she ran to the other side.
Brian saw her run to the concession stand to buy popcorn and two bottles of soft drinks. Then, she jogged back to him while holding a big bucket of popcorn in her arms. “Let’s have popcorn together later. By the way, I got us Coke. Do you want some? I’ll get you another one if you don’t drink Coke, “she said.
“No thanks. Coke is fine,” he said, only thinking she looked like a child as she held the big bucket of popcorn in her arms.
Valda Theller booked the tickets when Brian was driving. Valda Theller looked around after they walked into the theater. Although the animated film had a wide audience and was not childish, many families of three came. They could see many children in the theater hall.
“It seems many kids came to watch it,” said Valda Theller.
“The animated film is suitable for a wide age range,” said Brian.
“I wonder when I can bring my kids to watch animations too,” said Valda Theller.
She said it unintentionally, only lamenting.
Brian looked at her and asked, “Do you want to watch animations with your children?”
“Yeah…” She suddenly paused and blushed. She said it like she could not wait to have children.
Valda Theller blushed as she stammered, “I… I’m just saying I want to watch animations with my kids someday. I… I mean nothing else. Don’t overthink it.” As if amused, he looked at her blushed face. “What do you think I’ll ‘overthink’?”
‘Gosh, forget I ever said anything. Her face was almost buried in the popcorn. Fortunately, the movie soon started, and Valda Theller was finally relieved.
Clear Blue Skies was a story about a little girl who saved a little white dragon by chance. The little white dragon wanted to repay the kindness when he grew up. He desperately searched for his savior.
However, when he met the little girl who had grown up, he mistook someone else for his savior as he did not recognize her.
The little white dragon harmed the girl to repay the fake savior. It was too late when he found out who his true savior was. The girl had turned into dust and disappeared.
Therefore, the little white dragon kept looking for the person the girl reincarnated into. However, he learned that the girl already had someone she loved when he finally found her. She loved that person very much. Unfortunately, the girl fell seriously ill. Even the doctor diagnosed that she was near death.
Finally, the little white dragon cured the girl’s illness with all his power, but he also disappeared in the clear blue skies after exhausting all his power.
The director expressed the somewhat sad story humorously. The children could see the joy, but adults could see the sadness beneath the joy.
Valda Theller only felt her eyes becoming welled up with tears as she watched. She sighed for the little white dragon, but all she could hear were the children’s laughter.
The kids found it hilarious that the fake savior fooled the little white dragon into doing many ridiculous things.
Valda Theller glanced at Brian, who sat beside her and found him very focused.
It was as if he could not hear the sounds around them and was completely focused on the movie.
‘Is he that focused… when watching movies?’ Valda Theller thought to herself.
Valda Theller’s pupils shrank suddenly when she saw a tear flickering in Brian’s eyes. Then, the tear slowly oozed out of his eyes and slid down his face.
‘Is… Is he crying?’ Valda Theller was shocked. Although there were some parts of the animated film where she was touched and ready to cry, Brian was not the kind of person to be easily touched. Was the crown prince not said to be ruthless?
However, he was now crying from watching an animated movie.
Although the lights in the theater hall were off, the light from the screen was enough to let Valda Theller see him crying.
She did not know whether to pretend not to see it. After hesitating for a moment, she silently took a tissue from her bag and handed it to Brian.
Brian seemed to finally realize himself crying.
He cried! It was because the story seemed to make him see how fragile Grace was in front of his car that day. She had begged him with a face full of agony, but he was carried away by jealousy when he loved her. He was indifferent to her and refused to help her.
He pushed her back into Jason’s arms.
He was destined to lose Grace at that time.
He raised his hand and touched the tears on his face. After a long while, he took the tissue from Valda Theller and said with a bitter smile. “I’ve made a joke of myself.”
“Crying at movies doesn’t make you a joke. I cry at movies all the time,” Valda Theller whispered in reply.
Brian’s thin lips pressed slightly, but he said nothing.
‘I’m not a joke?
‘But my life seems like a joke to me.’
When Brian and Valda Theller walked out of the theater hall after the movie ended, Valda Theller saw Brian’s red eyes and silence. His phoenix eyes seemed to be covered with a layer of gloom.
It was as if he was still stuck in the film, unable to get over it.
Valda Theller thought about it and said, “It’s just a movie. Don’t be too upset. Besides, the little white dragon finally repaid his gratitude. He has some regrets but is also content.”
“Is it just a movie?” he murmured.
She blinked. “Isn’t it a movie?”
He suddenly smiled. “Yeah, it’s just a movie. It’s just that the little white dragon is so stupid. He made so many stupid mistakes.
