But Martin Weiss didn’t attend a charity banquet in L City with you previously. Instead, he brought another female companion. Does this mean he’s having an affair? Do you have anything to say?”

One asked as they pulled out their phone and filmed Kyla.

Kyla frowned, while Grace got up and said, “By filming without the subject’s consent, you’re violating her rights. She can pursue you legally!”

However, her words did not have any effect. The crowd continued filming arrogantly and asked increasingly explicit and embarrassing questions.

Cummins Yira’s expression froze as she helped Kyla block the cameras. Valda Theller also tried to stop the person from filming.

The person next to the one recording the scene pushed Valda Theller away and tried to pull Grace away.

Valda Theller panicked. After all, Grace was pregnant. It would be bad if someone pushed her.

However, she saw that someone had stood in front of Grace and shook off the person trying to pull Grace before she could rush to Grace.

Then, Valda Theller saw several tall and strong men quickly subduing the people harassing and filming them.

Valda Theller blinked. ‘What’s… going on?’

Grace gasped and comforted Zhong Kyla and Valda Theller. “We’re alright now. They’re my bodyguards. They’ll take care of it.”

Kyla breathed a sigh of relief. They were fortunate to have these bodyguards around. Otherwise, if something had happened to Grace…

As she was pondering it, Kyla heard Valda Theller say, “Grace, are you okay? You don’t look well.”

“I’m fine…” Grace was about to deny it when she frowned suddenly and covered her belly with one of her hands.

There was suddenly a pain in her belly, which made her feel a pang in her heart. “Send… Send me to the hospital…” Grace said with difficulty. Her face turned pale, and a thin layer of sweat quickly appeared on her forehead.

Valda Theller and Kyla quickly helped Grace, while two bodyguards raced ahead to make way for them. The five of them quickly got into a car.

Grace knew she should not panic. The more she panicked, the more emotional she would be. She would only put the baby in more danger.

She tried to take deep breaths to adjust her breathing rate. Then, she instructed the bodyguard in front of her, “Call… Call Jay and tell him I’m on my way to the hospital because my belly’s not feeling well.”

“Got it,” the bodyguard answered and quickly made the call.

Grace did not give any other instructions because she knew Jay would arrange everything well after finding out about her condition. When she arrived at the hospital, she only had to accept the doctor’s examination and treatment without worry.

Grace gripped one of Valda Theller’s arms. It was painful, but she said nothing because she knew Grace was suffering more pain than her.

“Grace, I’m sorry. It’s my fault that this happened to you,” Kyla said apologetically. “Kyla, it’s none of your business. The baby’s… not in the best position to begin with, and I was prepared to risk my life to give birth to them.”

“But…”

“Jay will have everything ready for me. I’m sure I can keep this baby. I’m sure…” she muttered with increasing difficulty.

Kyla hurriedly said, “Okay, okay, stop talking. Try to save energy and rest.”

Grace stopped talking and closed her eyes, but her deep frown and pursed lips indicated that she was still in pain.

Valda Theller took a paper towel from one side and wiped the cold sweat breaking out from Grace’s forehead. She had envied Grace’s pregnancy, and Brian had scolded her that there was nothing to envy!

‘Brian already knew Grace would be in danger if she gave birth to the baby. That’s why he was so angry when I said I was envious.

‘If Brian knows that Grace is currently in danger, what will he…

do?’

Her heart ached as she thought of the pain the man might suffer. Sometime later, the car finally drove to the hospital. The hospital ambulance team was already waiting. The medical staff put Grace on a stretcher before quickly wheeling her into the hospital. Kyla and Valda Theller also followed hurriedly.

Grace was given emergency treatment in the emergency room while Kyla and Valda Theller waited outside in the hallway.

Valda Theller touched her wrist and looked nervously at the closed door, praying that Grace would be okay.

“Valda, what happened to your hand?” Kyla asked suddenly.

“Huh? It’s n-nothing,” Valda Theller hurriedly said vaguely.

Kyla grabbed Valda Theller’s hand and looked at the bloody streaks. Her skin had been scratched.

Suddenly, she recalled how Grace seemed to have been holding Valda Theller’s wrist earlier. Grace must have caused the scratches.

However, Valda Theller was silent all the way. She had no intention of mentioning it even now.

“Grace gave you these scratches, right? Why didn’t you say anything when we were on the way here?”

Kyla asked. “It wasn’t that painful. Besides, Grace was in a lot more pain than I was. It would help her cope with the pain if she held my hand,” said Valda Theller.

Kyla became a little fonder of Valda Theller now.

“Valda, thank you,” said Kyla.

“What’s there to thank me for? As long as Grace is safe,” Valda Theller said sheepishly.

As she was speaking, a figure hurried over. Jason arrived.

“Jason, Grace…” Kyla was about to explain what had happened when Jason said, “You don’t need to tell me. I already know.”

Jason did not sit on the chair in the corridor but stood at the emergency room door. His face was full of anxiety, unease, and fear.

He was unlike the calm and elegant man who seemed to have everything under control Valda Theller had seen at the banquet.

‘It must be because… this man loves Grace.’

Valda Theller thought to herself when her phone rang suddenly.

Valda Theller looked at the caller ID and found it was a phone call from Brian, so she quickly walked to the corner of the corridor and answered the phone.

“I’m at your studio. Your two assistants said you went out for lunch. What’s the matter? Haven’t you finished your lunch?” Brian’s voice came from the phone.

“I… I’m at the hospital,” answered Valda Theller.

“The hospital? What happened? Are you ill?” Brian asked.

“It’s not me. It’s Grace. I ran into Grace and Kyla at lunch, and-”

Before Valda Theller could finish, Brian’s voice came over in a panic. “What? Grace’s in the hospital.

Which hospital?”

This anxious tone was something Valda Theller had never heard before.

It was hard to imagine a man, who was so cold and indifferent, speaking in such an anxious voice.

While Valda Theller was in a trance, Brian’s voice became more impatient. “Hurry and tell me which hospital you’re in!”

“Huh?” Valda Theller came to her senses and hurriedly said the address.

Then, beeping noises came over the other end of the line, which meant the call was over.

He did not even say goodbye. Valda Theller looked blankly at the phone she was holding. She knew Brian loved Grace, but only then did she realize how real it felt.

Grace shook her head. “It doesn’t hurt anymore. I’m sorry I made you worried again.” She raised her hand and caressed Jason’s cheek.

Jason gently rubbed Grace’s palm. “As long as you’re okay. As long as you’re okay…”

Who would have thought that the famous Young master Reed would behave like an insecure child in front of the woman he loved?

Grace was sent into the ward. Perhaps she was tired from the commotion earlier as she soon fell asleep.

Jason said to Kyla and Valda Theller, “Thank you for today.”
