Seeing the confidence in Mirabella’s eyes, Dean swallowed hard and said, “Alright.”

He felt like there was nothing in this world that Ms. Bennett couldn’t pull off.

This girl was just way too badass.

After dealing with Oscar, Mirabella whipped out her phone and issued a decree: “No one is allowed to buy those 4 villas and 14 storefronts Demetrius is selling.”

Mirabella’s expression turned a tad darker, but she still had a “surprise” up her sleeve for them.

At the headquarters of Collins Corporation,

Julian got the news and immediately popped into Hans Collins‘ office, reporting dutifully, “Boss, we got some fresh buzz from our fashion company.” Hans Collins lifted his deep–set eyes, his face still as cool as a cucumber, and asked, “Who’s the culprit this time?”

That small company had been a hot mess recently; wasn’t it being managed by a young woman?

“It’s Oscar from the headquarters,” Julian reported truthfully. “He set up an illegal gambling site and lured a bunch of our employees into it; they even roped in their friends and family, and now everyone’s down to their last penny.”

Hans Collins‘ gaze deepened.

“He also used dirty tricks on our female employees–not just one; he even filmed videos to threaten them.”

“He conned employees who were strapped for cash into his dirty deeds and betrayed the company. The old manager, purchasing manager, warehouse keeper, and group leaders from the production line all fell victim to him, and they’ve all been hit hard by the law.”

“Through selling discarded fabric from the company, he made 69,000 bucks in a year, and he even cooked the books for an entire year.”

“He even had the nerve to get employees to sell our top–quality products and produce low–quality clothes with cheap fabric, then sell them with our brand label, and most of the proceeds went into his pockets.”

“Recently, he sold our design drafts to our competitor, SY Fashion, and even tried to frame our designer, Molly.”

“Even though he’s been taken in for questioning by the police now, there’s a huge problem at the company.”

Hans Collins, with a deep voice, asked, “What’s the problem?”

“Out of the 33 new designs we’re launching tomorrow, Oscar sold 23 to SY Fashion. They’ve already produced and launched these 23 designs today, which means the millions worth of goods in our warehouse might not be able to be sold.” Julian lowered his head; his spirits were down in the dumps. Even though all these were Oscar’s doing, the company’s loss can’t be measured in money anymore.

“What does the top brass say?” Hans Collins asked quietly.

“Everyone’s at their wits‘ end, except for that young female manager. She boldly claimed in the meeting that she has a solution for tomorrow’s problem. She said she can not only prevent losses and reputation damage for the company but also make a killing.”

To be honest, Julian didn’t buy what the young female manager said, but Hans Collins was somewhat looking forward to it. Since she took up the job, she’d been full of surprises.

“I heard she got in through connections?” Hans Collins asked casually.

The boss‘ concern surprised Julian. He didn’t expect him to pay attention to such trivial matters. He replied, “Yes, and she’s actually one of your insiders.” “Oh?”

“She was handpicked by Old Mr. Collins.”

Hans Collins searched his memory but couldn’t recall any relatives or friends like that. Could it be she demonstrated outstanding management skills and was highly praised by his father, so he hired her specifically?

“What’s her educational background?”

“High school.” As soon as Julian finished, he worried the boss would question her ability, so he quickly added, “But her capabilities are plain for everyone to see, and she’s always giving her all for the company.”

Lucky for them, the new girl, Ms. Bennett, found the weak spot of Oscar. Who knew how much more money they would have lost otherwise!

Is the gift ordered?” asked Hans Collins.

Julian respectfully responded, “The owner wasn’t willing to sell. We’ve tried negotiating several times without success.”

“Who’s their guy?”

“They say it’s someone from the McMillan family,” replied Julian.

The McMillans were good buddies with the Collins. There’s no way Hans Collins would risk falling out with them over a necklace worth thirty million.

He would have to pick another one.

Julian browsed the QY website again, and Hans Collins‘ eyes scan through the options, finally settling on a four–leaf clover necklace.

The four leaves were studded with top–grade green diamonds. It’s a shame it’s only worth two and a half million. It felt like it’s not expensive enough. “That one,” Hans Collins said, handing the iPad back to him. “I’m going home for dinner with my sister tonight, so try to wrap up the important stuff this afternoon.”

“Sure thing.” Julian selected a few more important documents and respectfully presented them to him. “Oh, by the way, boss, word’s out that you’re back in town. A bunch of folks want to have dinner with you in the next few days. When do you reckon,”

“Blow them off.” Hans Collins felt he needs to make time to spend with his sister.

Meanwhile.

Oscar had been wailing in the station, proclaiming his innocence. He insisted the recording was done under Mirabella’s threat and that all the evidence was fabricated by her.

He’s also crying out to see Kenneth in person, claiming he’s a long–time employee that Kenneth promoted. There’s no way he would do anything to harm the Collins family!

The new cop had never seen such a crybaby of an old man. He reported the situation to Kenneth.

Kenneth and Louisa happened to be passing by, and upon hearing this, they stormed into the interrogation room.

“Mr. Collins, you’re finally here! I was about to bash my head against this wall, but then I thought, wouldn’t that be just what the villain wants?”

Oscar immediately knelt at Kenneth’s feet, sobbing uncontrollably. “You have no idea; this new girl at the company is framing me. I’m so bitter inside. I still remember the favor you did for me back in the day. How could I ever do anything to hurt the Collins family? To hurt you? She’s way out of line!” Oscar clung to Kenneth’s feet, crying his eyes out. “Mr. Collins, you have to save me! No one else can clear my name All it takes is a word from you. That’s the girl who walked in just now!”

“So you’re saying my precious daughter is framing you? You want her to go to jail?” Louisa’s face was cold, radiating an air of aloof elegance. Upon hearing “precious daughter“, Oscar was dumbstruck and thought he had heard wrong.

“You’ve misunderstood. I was talking about that girl from the company.” Not Serena!

“She is my precious daughter. My own flesh and blood.”

Hearing Louisa’s words, Oscar’s jaw dropped, and he was too stunned to even continue his crying fit.

Wasn’t that girl called Mirabella?

Weren’t Kenneth and Louisa’s children named Serena?

Oscar was totally stunned, unable to utter a single word.

“This company, under your leadership, hasn’t made any progress. I was originally planning to shut it down. But since my daughter is on holiday with nothing to do, I thought I’d let her run it.”

So casually handing over such a big company to his daughter.

Hearing Kenneth Collins‘ words, Oscar’s mouth hung open wide enough to fit two eggs.

“I never expected her to be so responsible, finding all these problems within the company! I’ve seen the evidence of your betrayal myself! Mirabella Bennett didn’t falsely accuse you! You’re here ranting and raving, slandering her, and wanting to put her behind bars. Do you really think the Collins family wouldn’t protect her?”

“No, no, Mr. Collins, you’re mistaken.” Oscar was instantly scared out of his wits. “I, I didn’t know that girl; no, I didn’t know Ms. Bella is your daughter.” If he had known, he would never have dared to act rashly!

At that moment, he looked at Louisa’s icy face and suddenly realized that she and Mirabella did bear some resemblance!

Only that, Mirabella exuded a stronger aura and was even more charming.

“Mr. Collins, I was confused for a moment and did something to let down the company, to let you down.” Oscar simply admitted his guilt, hoping for a more lenient punishment.

But before he could finish, Kenneth kicked him away, saying, “You’re a repeat offender; since the company opened, you’ve been messing up for a year!” “Mr. Collins, I was wrong! I was so stupid; you can hit me and scold me, but please don’t let me go to jail.” Oscar crawled over again, desperately begging at Kenneth’s trousers, “I have elderly parents, young children.”

“Let go!” Kenneth kicked him away again, impatiently saying, “When you did those things, didn’t you think about your family?”

Regretting now? Too late!!

“I heard he often bullied Mirabella in the company.” Louisa glanced at the man on the ground, then turned to the police officer beside her and said, “Please handle it properly; he’s been with our company for a while.”
