“Eliza really is remarkable.”

“Isn’t Eliza actually from the Chapman family? Wasn’t there a mix-up in their identities? Eliza was raised by this couple, so it seems only natural for her to help.”

“It’s telling that their biological daughter Isabella hasn’t contributed, but Eliza has. She’s a blessing to them.”

“The Chapman family are showing true integrity here.”

As the reporter continued speaking to Isabella, trying to provoke a reaction, Eliza’s phone vibrated quietly in her hand. Glancing down, she saw a notification from Twitter.

Her eyes narrowed as she read the message: “Patton Group has issued a statement.” Eliza’s curiosity was piqued.

The Patton Group making a statement at this moment?

They must be distancing themselves from Isabella, who had been pretending to be associated with them. A smirk crept onto Eliza’s lips as she clicked on the notification.

But instead, the statement read: “Isabella Patton is a member of the Patton family that owns the Patton Group.” Eliza stared at her phone in disbelief. Her mind struggled to process the shock.

But before she could fully grasp it, more statements started flooding in.

Dane posted, “Isabella Patton is my sister.”

Then came Glenn, who posted, “Isabella Patton is my daughter!”

Eliza’s grip tightened on her phone as Howard’s post appeared. “Isabella Patton is my dearest sister. Who dares to slander her?”

Eliza’s shock rendered her speechless; her phone almost slipped from her hand.

Phyllis, noticing Eliza’s sudden silence, furrowed her brows in concern. She was about to ask what was wrong when her eyes landed on Eliza’s phone.

It was a post from Howard.

Her heart skipped a beat—everyone in high society knew exactly who Howard was. But…Isabella? Howard’s sister?

If Isabella was Howard’s sister, didn’t that make her Glenn’s daughter?

Phyllis’s thoughts scrambled, her mind momentarily going blank. She couldn’t react, standing there in shock alongside Eliza.

But they weren’t the only ones floored by the revelation. The viewers of the live stream were equally stunned by the flurry of supportive posts for Isabella.

Meanwhile, the reporter, still lambasting Isabella with biting words, was oblivious to the seismic shift happening online. But his assistant caught wind of the news, his face paling with embarrassment.

Panicked, the assistant quickly pulled the reporter aside. “We… we might have made a mistake,” he stammered. “What?” The reporter frowned, turning around in confusion.

The assistant pressed his lips together tightly before showing the reporter the breaking news.

“Glenn Patton said…” the reporter muttered. “Isabella… is his daughter?”

The reporter’s confident demeanor faltered, his face draining of color as he turned towards Isabella. The disdain once evident in his eyes was swiftly replaced by a mix of fear and respect.

Isabella just stood there without saying anything. Her face was expressionless, yet she exuded a powerful aura. The reporter wondered why he hadn’t noticed before that Isabella’s aura was far from ordinary; he should have been more astute.

Aidyn and Sherlyn didn’t know what the others had seen on their phones, but they were very angry since the reporter kept criticizing Isabella. Aidyn shouted, “Isabella is not our child. She is from the Patton family. How many times do I have to tell you before you believe me?”

After saying this, Aidyn panted in anger. But he felt strange. This time, no one rushed to deny his words, which was quite surprising to him.

Suddenly, the door of the ward was pushed open from the outside, and a distinguished figure walked in, attracting everyone’s attention. The reporter had been in the industry for many years. Naturally, he recognized the person who came.

“Mr. Patton!” he exclaimed.

The man’s presence made the reporter tremble in fear. His face turned pale, and his body went weak. However, Dane just ignored him. He walked over to Isabella, wrapped his arm around her shoulders, and said gently, “Isabella, I’m sorry you had to go through this.”

“You don’t have to apologize. It’s fine.” Isabella shook her head. She didn’t seem to care much.

But everyone around them was so shocked that they almost collapsed to the floor. Since Dane himself showed up, it had to be true that Isabella was his sister. Eliza looked at Isabella with conflicting emotions visible on her face.

“This… How can this be possible?” Eliza was still in disbelief. She looked at Aidyn and Sherlyn with tears in her eyes. “But it was our two families who had accidentally taken the wrong babies back.”

“No, you are all mistaken,” Sherlyn said. “It was actually three families that had accidentally taken the wrong babies back. My baby was stillborn and was taken away by the Patton family. I took the Chapman family’s child, and the Chapman family took the Patton family’s child.” It turned out this was the truth.

Suddenly, Eliza felt everything around her go so dark that she almost fainted. How she wished she was only having a bad dream.

Isabella wasn’t the daughter of two villagers at all. She was the noble lady of the Patton family. This was her true identity.

She belonged to the Patton family. The Patton family was far superior to the Chapmans. Eliza’s eyes stung with tears, and she felt like her chest was about to explode from the frustration. She couldn’t breathe.

She felt miserable. But not only her; Phyllis also felt the same.

Phyllis had done so many bad things to Isabella. She had mistreated Isabella when she was a child and had been delighted when she found out Isabella wasn’t her daughter. She had favored Eliza, thinking Eliza was better.

But later, it turned out that Isabella was much better than Eliza. She just hadn’t realized it sooner. However, even if she realized that later, she comforted herself that no matter how good Isabella was, it wouldn’t change the fact that she was a village girl.

She didn’t expect to be hit hard by the truth today. Isabella was not only talented; she was also a member of the privileged Patton family. She was much more noble than Phyllis could ever be.

Phyllis looked at Isabella standing beside Dane. She looked elegant and noble, as if she were from a world different from theirs. Tears welled up in Phyllis’s eyes.

While watching the scene, Eliza suddenly screamed, “Now I understand why the Patton family doesn’t want to cooperate with us. It’s all because of you, Isabella, right? You are so vicious! The Chapman family raised you, but after you returned to the Patton family, you pushed us to the brink of ruin. Are you still a human being?”

Eliza criticized Isabella frantically. She couldn’t bear to see Isabella standing so high above her.

Dane had always been gentle and elegant, but now, he looked at Phyllis with cold eyes. “We never intended to cooperate with the Chapman family in the first place. We only considered it before because you raised Isabella. But we didn’t expect… We didn’t know you had treated her so horribly. We’re already kind enough not to crush you. How dare you expect cooperation!”

Dane snorted coldly. He looked at Eliza and Phyllis disdainfully.

Phyllis’s legs went so weak that she was about to faint. She remembered the first time she saw Isabella at a mall after she left the Chapman family. At that time, Elaine was standing up for Isabella. Phyllis thought Elaine was just a noblewoman trying to defend someone who suffered injustice. It turned out Elaine was Isabella’s mother.

It was because of that argument that their collaboration was canceled immediately. Thus, the failure of the cooperation had nothing to do with Isabella. It was entirely her fault.

Meanwhile, Eliza also recalled many things. She thought Isabella seduced Dane to become the president of Natural Beauty. Who would have thought that Dane was Isabella’s brother?

Also, when she saw Isabella watering the flowers at the Patton family’s residence, she thought Isabella was a maid. But this incident led to her own expulsion. It turned out that everything had traces leading back to the truth.

The truth had long been revealed before them; it was just that they refused to believe it. Eliza’s eyes turned red with anger. She stared at Isabella and said with deep resentment, “Isabella, are you happy now? You’ve made a fool of us all. Are you happy now? You are a devil!”

Eliza almost screamed. She believed Isabella had intentionally played them.

Aidyn and Sherlyn were furious when they heard Eliza speak to Isabella in such a way. At that moment, Sherlyn stepped forward.

And everyone was shocked when she raised her hand and slapped Eliza.

Eliza and Phyllis were stunned for a while. Phyllis was the first to come to her senses. “Are you crazy? Who gave you the right to slap my daughter?”

Sherlyn’s voice was cold as she replied, “We raised Eliza, never expecting anything in return. But when my husband was diagnosed with cancer, I never imagined she could be so cold and selfish. All I asked was for her to repay the money we spent on her dance classes, and she refused!”

With that, Sherlyn tore away the veil of Eliza’s hypocrisy, exposing her true nature. The reporter turned his attention to Eliza, realizing that the real ungrateful person wasn’t Isabella but Eliza. The crowd’s gaze shifted, now filled with mockery and disdain for Eliza.

Eliza, feeling the weight of their judgment, shook her head desperately. “No, it’s not like that. You’ve got it all wrong. I thought Isabella was your real daughter, and I only acted that way because I wanted her to come and look after you. I’m here now with five hundred thousand to help cover the medical bills!”

Sherlyn couldn’t help but find it all painfully ironic. “So, you spread rumors about Isabella being an ungrateful daughter, and now you show up with five hundred thousand? We both know why you did it—it was all for your reputation. I don’t need your money anymore. Isabella has already taken care of the medical bills. Just pay me back the money I spent on you since childhood, and we can cut ties for good. I cared for you deeply, but your ingratitude is shocking.”

Eliza’s face flushed with embarrassment, her eyes welling up with tears as she listened to Sherlyn’s harsh words. Phyllis, unwilling to let her daughter be berated, stepped in. “Don’t you think you’re being too harsh? Eliza didn’t know the full story. She only acted that way because she hoped Isabella would come see you.”

“Bullshit!” Sherlyn spat, her disgust evident. “I told her over and over that Isabella isn’t my child, but she refused to believe me! She knew the truth but chose not to believe it so she could target Isabella. It’s all because she can’t stand the thought of Isabella living a better life than her!”

Sherlyn’s words struck a chord, laying bare Eliza’s true motivations. Isabella, watching quietly, couldn’t help but silently applaud Sherlyn. She had hit the mark perfectly.

The live stream chat exploded with outrage.

“Oh my God! So, it was all Eliza’s scheme. She’s so cruel!”
