What happened afterward was just like what she expected. Valda Theller became the object of despise at school. She then lost interest in Valda Theller and stopped paying attention to her.

However, she did not expect Valda Theller to become a comic artist and have her comic be adapted into a drama. Besides that… she had Raymond Bowman protecting her now.

Since she could trample over Valda Theller back then, she could also do it now!

“Raymond Bowman, you’ll be sorry! “Barbara Schuman muttered grimly to herself.

After learning that Barbara Schuman was sponsoring the TV show, Camille Strickland yelled, “F*ck!”

Then, she looked worriedly at her best friend. “Valda, you…”

Valda Theller smiled. “She’s only one of the sponsors. What can she do to me? Will she ask the director and producer to remove my name from the TV show’s credits or swap it to another comic?”

Camille Strickland mumbled, “You’re right. But she’s vicious. Who knows what she’ll do to you? People like her are psychopaths!”

Valda Theller nodded in agreement and said, “It’s just like what you said. She’s indeed a psychopath.

Anyway, we’ll take the necessary measures when the situation calls for it. Since she came to us, we’ll have to face her. We’re not in university anymore.”

“Yes, let’s see what she’s up to this time!” Camille Strickland said.

When Valda Theller went to the set the next day, she ran into Barbara Schuman again. Valda Theller stopped and looked at her with some caution in her eyes. Barbara Schuman walked up with a smile and said, “Valda, I think there’s some misunderstanding between us. I only sponsored this film for Raymond Bowman, nothing else. You know as well that Raymond Bowman liked me when we were in university, but we separated afterward because he became an exchange student. Since he wants to invest in this film because it has potential, I wish to help him too.”

“It’s between you and him. You don’t have to explain it to me,” Valda Theller said coldly.

“How could I not explain? I remember you liked Raymond Bowman very much, didn’t you? But you couldn’t have him. then, and you still can’t have him now. I just don’t want you to get hurt,” Barbara Schuman said triumphantly, wanting to see embarrassment and reluctance on Valda Theller’s face.

However, Valda Theller only said indifferently, “You don’t have to tell me this. I have a boyfriend now. You can have Raymond Bowman if you want. I don’t like him at all.”

Barbara Schuman’s expression froze. “You have a boyfriend?”

Valda Theller chuckled. “Miss Li, you wouldn’t think I still liked Raymond Bowman after so many years, would you?”

Barbara Schuman’s gorgeous face twisted slightly. She wanted to humiliate Valda Theller, but now, it felt like she was the one who was humiliated instead.

Just then, Raymond Bowman hurried over. After seeing the two of them, he rushed straight over.

“Barbara Schuman, what are you doing to Valda Theller? I told you to leave her alone!”

Barbara Schuman’s red lips smiled. “I just wanted to say hello to Valda. Why are you so worried? By the way, Valda told me that she has a boyfriend. Raymond Bowman, you’re wasting your time.”

Raymond Bowman’s expression changed slightly. “I know she has a boyfriend, so what?”

Barbara Schuman’s eyes froze slightly, and surprise flashed across her face.

Valda Theller ignored the two and walked past them.

Raymond Bowman wanted to talk to Valda Theller again, but some things were inappropriate to say in front of Barbara Schuman. Therefore, he could only reluctantly watch Valda Theller leave.

Barbara Schuman saw the reluctance in his eyes, which made her jealous and unwilling.

‘Why did the man who liked me back then like Valda Theller now?

Am I no match for Valda Theller? Besides being better at drawing comics, what else is she better at than me? So what if she’s good at drawing comics? She doesn’t make much money!

‘Does an orphan deserve to contend with me?’

“Raymond Bowman, I thought Valda Theller was still devoted to you. Who knew… Haha…” Barbara Schuman laughed mockingly. “She already has a boyfriend. She seems to despise you, yet you’ve fallen in love with her. What a joke!”

“Shut up!” Raymond Bowman roared. Those black eyes glowed ferociously like an angry beast ready to rip her open!

Barbara Schuman was shocked by the glow in Raymond Bowman’s eyes. The way he looked at her now was unlike how he had looked at her previously. It was as if he was looking at an enemy.

“So what if I’m a joke? I was already a joke when I was in cahoots with you! Barbara Schuman, I’m warning you. I won’t go easy on you if you lay a finger on Valda Theller!” He threatened.

She quivered. His expression and tone told her that he was not just saying it. He really meant what he said. “Do you… love Valda Theller that much?”

Raymond Bowman was silent.

‘Love… I love her, I guess? But I don’t know how deep is my love for her.’ All he knew was that he did not want to repeat the same mistakes he made back then and hurt the innocent woman again.

Barbara Schuman bit his red lip slightly and hugged Raymond Bowman suddenly. “Raymond Bowman, you love me. What you have for Valda Theller is nothing but temporary sympathy. You were willing to do everything for me back then. How could such love fade easily? I’m right here with you. If you want…”

“Stop all the meaningless talk,” Raymond Bowman interrupted. Then, he pulled away Barbara Schuman’s arms that were around his waist. “I don’t love you now, and I never will love you again.

Barbara Schuman, watch out!”

All was well with the film set in the next few days. Nothing happened, and Barbara Schuman did not come to the film crew anymore.

Valda Theller went to the film set two or three times a week to assist in fixing the script.

When Valda Theller went over today, they were shooting the second female lead and male lead’s scenes. There was a scene where the second female lead ran into debt collectors at the park. It was the second female lead’s father who was in debt, but they came to her because he was missing.

The second female lead was meeting the male lead in the park. Just when the second female lead saw the male lead and wanted to walk up to greet him, the debt collectors found her. Therefore, they dragged the second female lead to concealed bushes in the park and beat her up. The male lead thought the second female lead stood him up and left gloomily.

This scene was the key plot of the comic. It was where the twist in the characters’ fate started.

However, Queenie Mack, who played the second female lead, wanted to change the plot. “Director, Scriptwriter, I think it doesn’t make sense to have the second female lead stay silent here. The male lead is so close that she should shout for the male lead to save her! It’d be better if you let the male lead save the damsel in distress!”

Queenie Mack joined the cast through an investment. She even had a designated scriptwriter who could modify the script for her.

Even though the director and the scriptwriter in charge of Queenie Mack were dissatisfied with such changes in the script, they sometimes turned a blind eye.

Today, Queenie Mack wanted to change the main plot, so the director and the scriptwriter disagreed.

Hence, an argument started.

Valda Theller eventually became the center of attention. Queenie Mack said the original plot did not make sense.

Valda Theller could only say, “The second female lead loves the male lead and knows it’s difficult for the male lead to save her from so many fierce debt collectors even if she were to call for help. She might even cause the male lead to get hurt. At the same time, she’s too proud to let the male lead know about her miserable situation. It’s this combination of circumstances that led her to make this choice.”

However, Queenie Mack did not accept Valda Theller’s explanation. “I still think we need to change it. I don’t like how my character will be beaten up in the bushes. My fans can’t accept such a scene either!”

“If you don’t want to act in the scene where you’re dragged into the bushes and beaten up, we can have your stand-in do it for you. We’ll just need some close-up shots of your face,” the assistant director nearby said.

Queenie Mack looked upset, clearly displeased with the assistant director’s answer.

The scriptwriter in charge said, “Yuejing, this scene is related to what happens later. If we change it, too many scenes will be affected.”

“I don’t think so. You can find another reason to separate the male lead from the second female lead. If you think changing it is too troublesome, I can ask my scriptwriter to do it!” Queenie Mack said.

Valda Theller said, “We can’t change it. If we do, the second female lead won’t be the proud yet low self-esteemed character who’s willing to sacrifice herself for the one she loves that I intended her to be.”

Valda Theller rejected. It was her stance for her creation and the characters she created. Some things could be changed, but she would insist on her stance if it involved character changes.

She could not make the final decision, so all she could do was take a stand.

Queenie Mack’s eyes sparkled, and she immediately said, “It seems you insist on having the second female lead beaten up in the bushes. Okay, I won’t change the script and will follow the original scene as long as you’re the stand-in.”

Valda Theller froze. “You want me to be the stand-in?”

“Yeah, what do you think? Since you like the plot so much that you won’t change it, you can be the stand-in. We’re about the same size, so you can probably do a good job as a stand-in.” Queenie Mack smiled maliciously.

“I’m not a professional actor. You can always find other stand-ins of your size.” Valda Theller refused.

“But I want you to do it!” Queenie Mack said.

Others could now tell that Queenie Mack was picking on Valda Theller.

The scriptwriter in charge got along well with Valda Theller. They advised Queenie Mack, “Why give the comic artist a hard time? She’s not a professional actor. She’ll get hurt if you let her become a stand-in for such a scene. It might not turn out well either. It’ll be troublesome if we have to find another stand-in to shoot it.” “How could it not turn out well?” Queenie Mack smiled. “It was revealed earlier that Comic Artist Zhong was a bully in university. Later on, she was bullied by others. I suppose such a scene is a piece of cake to her.”

As soon as she said this, Valda Theller’s expression changed immediately. The way the people around them looked at Valda Theller changed slightly.
