“Maybe you’ll understand when you have children of your own,” Valda Theller thought about it and said.

She could not help imagining what his children would look like.

‘A mini Brian? Wow, I think he’ll look adorable just thinking about it.’

However, what he said next made her freeze.

What he said was… “I probably won’t have kids of my own, so I’ll probably never understand no matter how you explain it.”

Valda Theller looked blankly at the person right in front of her. He looked down when he said this, and his long eyelashes concealed everything in his eyes. A blanket of solitude seemed to surround him, isolating him from his surroundings.

It was as if he would not let anyone get near him, nor could she get near him.

A week later, Valda Theller moved back to her place. She joined the film crew according to their original plan and began assisting the scriptwriter with the script.

However, she could feel many people’s strange glances on her first day.

After all, even though the buzz of her news might have faded and it was quickly replaced by other eye-

catching gossip news, everyone in the film crew knew about her past now.

However, what they knew was the distorted facts online, not the real truth.

“That’s her. She bullied others when she was in university. It’s satisfying to know that she was bullied back in the end!”

“Reading her comics, I thought she was amiable. I didn’t expect her to be so mean!”

“The producer probably regrets choosing her comic. There are other comics better than hers.”

Those surrounding people seemed to be whispering, but their volume was not low, and Valda Theller could easily hear them.

“Don’t mind the gossip. Just think of them as bullsh*t!” Camille Strickland said as she reassured her best friend.

“Don’t worry. I’m not a pampered princess who has never experienced anything in her life. It’s just some gossip. I can stand them.” Valda Theller smiled at her best friend to reassure her.

Valda Theller discussed the plot with the scriptwriter the entire morning.

After discussing for a while, the director called the scriptwriter away, so Valda Theller stayed alone in the room and waited.

Suddenly, the room door was pushed open, and a figure rushed in while panting.

Valda Theller looked up and frowned when she saw the intruder. It was Raymond Bowman!

Knowing Raymond Bowman had invested in the film, she knew she might not be able to avoid meeting him. However, if possible, she did not want to meet him again.

“If you’re looking for the scriptwriter, they’re with the director,”

said Valda Theller.

Raymond Bowman approached her and said, “I’m here to see you. How have you been these days?”

“I’m fine,” Valda Theller said with a blank expression.

“I’m sorry about the viral post. I had no idea that someone would expose the incident. I’ll find out who’s behind this and give you an explanation,” said Raymond Bowman.

Valda Theller looked at him coldly. “I don’t need any explanation from you, Raymond Bowman. If you feel guilty for me, I hope you won’t appear in front of me again. It’s the best way for you to make things up for me.”

He paled. “Do you hate me that much?”

She replied in amusement, “Do you think I should be glad to have you around from time to time? How would I have gone through that if you hadn’t used me as a pawn and a stepping stone to get a woman?

I wouldn’t have gone viral for that either.”

“I know I hurt you badly, but I just want you to give me another chance to make it up to you, Valda,”

Raymond Bowman said bitterly.

“Make it up to me? That’s unnecessary!” Valda Theller refused without mercy.

“It’s necessary because I…” He paused.

Valda Theller did not bother to talk to Raymond Bowman anymore. She got up to leave the room. She could discuss the script with the scriptwriter when they got back.

However, Raymond Bowman lunged over and blocked her way. “Wait, can I finish what I have to say?

Valda!” His voice was almost pleading.

“Raymond Bowman, I’ve said whatever I have to say to you. I think there’s no need to talk about this anymore,” she said.

“What if I tell you I’m not only feeling guilty for you but also…” His voice was bitter. After a long pause, he continued saying, “But also because I love you? Mingyu said I might have fallen in love with you long ago. I just didn’t know it. Over the years, I’ve been regretting what I did to you. I long for you so much that I can’t get you out of my mind…”

He spoke with difficulty. ‘Does she know how much courage it took for me to say this to her?’

Valda Theller was shocked, never expecting Raymond Bowman to say such a thing.

“Valda, I think maybe I love you. I’ve unconsciously fallen in love with you, so give me another chance. I won’t hurt you this time. I’ll try harder than anyone else to protect you,” Raymond Bowman said hoarsely.

Valda Theller suddenly laughed. She laughed so hard that she teared up. She found it ironic and ridiculous.

“Raymond Bowman, I would’ve been touched if you had said this to me when I was bullied. I would’ve forgiven you and gotten together with you, but now… Don’t you think it’s a little too late? Did you think I’d always wait for you?” She raised her hand and wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes. “You just think you might be in love with me, so you keep saying you’re sorry and want to make it up to me and protect me. But what if you’re not in love with me? Would you not have felt guilty at all? Do I deserve to be a pawn or a stepping stone? How can you make up for what I’ve suffered?!”

Valda Theller’s questions made Raymond Bowman speechless.

He wanted to say no and refute her, but he could not.

Just like what she said, he felt guilty and wanted to make up for what he had previously don because he had fallen in love with her.

However, what if he was not in love with her?

All this might be nothing more than a trivial incident that happened back in his school days. It was in the past, and he would not have wanted to make it up to her.

“Raymond Bowman, I won’t love you. Stop telling me such ridiculous things again,” said Valda Theller.

“Is it because you’re in love with your boyfriend?” His thin voice said with an unmistakable hint of jealousy.

“Yes, I love him.” Valda Theller used Brian as an excuse.

Raymond Bowman pressed his thin lips together. “That man isn’t simple, and it’s never gonna work out between you and him. Valda, don’t make a decision you’ll regret just because you’re mad at me!”

Valda Theller said sternly, “I didn’t get together with him because of you.”

With that, she pushed his hand away and walked straight out of the room.

Raymond Bowman’s pale face was full of agony.

‘Have I run out of chances?’

Valda Theller walked out of the room, only to see many people gathered at the front. They were making a lot of noise.

Valda Theller frowned, not knowing what was going on up ahead.

Just then, the production assistant walked over to her and tapped her on the shoulder. “Hey, Valda, there you are. The director is looking for you.”

“The director’s looking for me?”

“Yes, the director’s over there!” They pointed to the area where the crowd had gathered.

Valda Theller walked over, only to see many people holding boxes of mooncakes with exquisite packaging.

‘Is someone at the front… giving out mooncakes?

‘But Mid-Autumn Festival is still far away, isn’t it?’
