“Then get back as far as you can!” Brian said.

Valda Theller hurriedly obeyed.

There was a bang, and the door was kicked open. Valda Theller looked at Brian in shock. ‘He… came to save me. He showed up when I was desperate!

“Hello, hello, are you still there? How are things on your side now?” The operator’s voice came anxiously from the phone.

“I’m… alright now,” Valda Theller murmured as she ended the call.

“Are you okay? Were you hurt?” Brian asked as he looked at the pale person with fear in her eyes. He could tell that she was in great shock.

“I… I’m fine. I have no… no injuries,” Valda Theller stammered as she walked out of the cubicle.

When she walked out, those who had wanted to hurt her were sprawled on the floor and wailing. The woman who had caused the trouble was now on the floor trembling with fear. The expression on her face could not be any ghastlier.

Valda Theller stared blankly at the scene before her. ‘Did Brian… knock down these people?

‘But could he knock down that many people on his own?’

“You’re… not hurt, are you?” she asked quickly.

Brian smiled faintly and said, “They can’t hurt me. Alright, let’s get out of here.”

However, after taking two steps, he realized she was still standing in the same spot.

“What’s the matter?” He turned to look at her.

She took a deep breath as her dangling hands clenched into fists. “My… My feet are a little weak, so I might walk a little slower.”

She had almost used up all her strength trying to walk. She wobbled and was about to stumble after only two steps.

Brian lunged forward, grabbed Valda Theller, and picked her up in his arms.

She shouted, “Hey! Are… Are you going to carry me out of here?”

“What else? You might not even make it out in another hour if you go out by yourself,” said Brian before striding out of the washroom.

Valda Theller could only feel many people’s eyes on them.

On any other day, she would be blushing and feeling embarrassed, but she was still in fear from the incident earlier.

When Brian almost reached the bar entrance, someone stopped him. “What’s the matter? Are you just going to leave after beating people up? You can’t get out of here so easily today…”

However, the next moment, another man hurried over and slapped the person hard. “What are you talking about? Hurry and apologize to Young Master Hart!”

The person who got slapped was confused. The man who hurried over pressed the man’s head and bowed to Brian. “Young Master Hart, my subordinate doesn’t know his manners. Please forgive him, Young Master Hart. Take… Take care. I’ll look for you and formally apologize later!”

He looked terrified.

Brian glared at him coldly and walked out of the bar with Valda Theller in his arms.

Then, the person who stopped Brian earlier looked uneasily at the man who came afterward. “Boss, who’s Young Master Hart?”

His boss had a considerably tough background too, but he seemed apprehensive when facing that Young Master Hart earlier. The subordinate had never seen him this way.

“That was the crown prince!” the man said worriedly! He wondered if the crown prince would take it out on him for what had happened in his bar today.

“The crown prince?” The subordinate forze. ‘The crown prince of the entertainment industry seems to be the only person in Emerald City dubbed the crown prince.

Oh, yes. He has the surname Hart too!’

The subordinate could not help sweating profusely at the thought of it. He regretted blocking the crown prince’s way and speaking so harshly.

‘If Boss hadn’t rushed over to stop me, I would have probably…!

“Get the names of everyone who made trouble today. Never let them set foot in the bar again,” the boss said.

“What if they cause more trouble?” the subordinate asked.

“If they cause more trouble, they can forget about staying in Emerald City!” the boss snapped. Forget about Brian, he would not let go of those people who dared cause trouble in his bar.

Brian carried Valda Theller into the passenger seat of his car. “I’ll send you home now,” he said.

She seemed a little dazed and was still trembling slightly. After a while, she nodded.

Brian said nothing and only drove quietly toward Valda Theller’s apartment.

Valda Theller lowered her head as if she was immersed in her thoughts. The scenes of the man kicking the door in the washroom and her being bullied in university overlapped in her mind.

Many people in school thought she was a scheming woman because of what Raymond Bowman said.

She was cornered in the washroom, and others released snakes from the cubicle’s gap. They even let out several of them at a time. Even though they were not poisonous, they were enough to make her have nightmares.

She screamed and cried, but it was no use. They still blocked the door, and she could not break the door down no matter what. She did not even know how she survived that period.

It was not until her throat was hoarse and she was exhausted that the door opened. What greeted her were more taunts and cameras taking photos of the ugly state she was in.

Those people stood on the moral high ground as if they were judges, and she was the villain.

However, in her opinion, they were the real villains.

She was an orphan. She experienced the ups and downs of life after her parents died when she was little. She thought she was tough enough, but what she experienced in university gave her a better understanding of the word ‘malice’.

Brian drove on and did not stop at the apartment compound’s entrance like usual. Instead, he drove into the apartment compound and parked the car at Valda Theller’s apartment block.

“Valda, we’ve arrived,” Brian said aloud. He had called out several times for Valda Theller to come to her senses. She looked up blankly at the scene outside the car window before quickly saying, “Thank you for sending me home. Goodbye.”

She said as she opened the car door. She got out shakily and walked toward the apartment building.

Brian frowned a little. The way she walked looked like she might fall at any time. She seemed to have had quite a shock today.

Pursing his thin lips, he unbuckled his safety belt, got out of the car, and hurried to her side. “Let me walk you home.” Even he could not explain why he got out.

‘Is it because she looks pitiful?

‘But I’ve never been a merciful man. I don’t have the slightest compassion. I won’t frown even if someone were to die in front of me, but why did she…

‘Is it because she’s my nominal girlfriend?’

Valda Theller looked blankly at Brian in front of her. Her head told her to reject him. There was no need to trouble him. All she had to do was take an elevator to get home.

However, what she said in the end was… “Thank you.” She wanted someone to keep her company. That way, perhaps the fear in her body would lessen.

“Let’s go, then,” he said. He walked to the elevator with her and pressed the button.

The elevator soon came. The doors opened, and it was empty.

Valda Theller hesitated slightly before stepping into the elevator.

Brian followed inside and helped Valda Theller press the button.

for the floor.

Valda Theller stiffened, and her face paled when the elevator doors closed.

“Can… Can I hold your hand?” Valda Theller said with difficulty.

She wanted to hold something warm so she could stop recalling the scary scenes of what had happened today as well as back then.

Brian looked at the person in front of him. Her face was pale, while her round eyes looked misty. There was fear and longing in those dark eyes.

‘What is she longing for? Is she longing to hold my hand?”
