“I’m sorry. I’ll walk a little slower…” Her words were barely out of her mouth when he suddenly picked her up in his arms.
Kyla lay almost motionless against Martin Weiss’s chest, unable to believe that he would pick her up.
However, Martin Weiss did not wait for her reaction. He carried her toward the mansion gate.
Mrs. Weiss stared at the scene until the two figures were out of sight before muttering, “Ill fate! Three months later… What then?”
Mrs. Weiss stared blankly at the scene until the two figures were out of sight. She mumbled, “How unlucky! Three months later… What will happen… in three months?”
‘Will my son still be willing to divorce Kyla by then?’ Mrs. Weiss was unconfident.
Kyla finally gained her senses when Martin Weiss carried her into the car. “Is your wound okay? Is it okay to carry me like this? Will it burst open?”
She said as her hands reached for his clothes as if to take them off to take a closer look at his wound.
However, he grabbed her hands before she could touch the buttons of his clothes.
“What are you doing?” A cold voice rang in the car.
B Gifts Kyla stiffened as her ears heard Martin Weiss say, “I’ve shown you the wound you wanted to see the last time, didn’t I? What’s the matter? Are you still interested?”
She said with a sob, “I just wanted to see if your wound burst open. You carried me all the way here…”
“I’m not too weak that I can’t walk this far. Besides, do you think the wound I got more than two months ago will burst open again?” He mocked her in reply.
Kyla paused, finding herself foolish. It had been more than two months since his wound was sutured, and he did not feel any discomfort. He was naturally fine.
Martin Weiss ordered the driver, “Drive.”
The car slowly drove away from Weiss Residence and headed toward the mansion.
Kyla sat silently in the backseat and said nothing until Martin Weiss suddenly asked, “Why did you go out alone when you’ve hurt your foot? Did my mother contact you and ask you to leave the mansion to meet her?”
He learned that she had left the mansion alone after receiving news that her mother’s staff had taken her to Weiss Residence.
“No, I only left the mansion to buy some medicine for my ankle. Then I met your mother’s subordinate in front of the drugstore after buying my medicine…” While speaking halfway, she exclaimed as if she had recalled something, “I left the medicine I bought at your mom’s house! Can you… get the car to stop at a drugstore so that I can buy a new one?”
He frowned. “The mansion has a regular supply of such medicine. How foolish are you to go out and buy it yourself? Didn’t you ask the servants?”
The corners of Kyla’s mouth twitched as she said to the driver in the front row, “Driver, can you please stop if you pass by a pharmacy? I’ll get down to buy some medicine.”
Martin Weiss’s eyes glimmered slightly before he said to the driver, “Don’t stop. Drive straight back to the mansion.”
“But I need to buy the medicine,” said Kyla.
“I said we have it in the mansion. Just ask the servants for it.” “But…”
“They won’t give it to you?” Martin Weiss asked as he went straight to the point.
Kyla pressed her red lips together tightly, and Martin Weiss knew he was right. “You’re Mrs. Weiss. How could the servants bully you so?”
“The servants at the mansion don’t think of me as Mrs. Weiss,”
said Kyla. Due to his attitude toward her, the servants did not give her the respect she deserved. They even secretly speculated when she would divorce him and leave.
Although Kyla never said the second half, Martin Weiss could figure it out.
“Are you blaming me, then?” he asked.
“I don’t blame you. We’re supposed to be divorced, and it’s only natural that you’re indifferent to me,” Kyla said calmly.
However, the calm tone of her voice made him feel uncomfortable.
When the car arrived at the mansion’s entrance, Kyla opened the car door and was about to get down when Martin Weiss passed the car rear and picked Kyla up.
Kyla was shocked. “I… I can walk by myself…”
“You’re going to slowly limp into the house?” he asked.
She was instantly speechless. Her teeth bit her lower lip, and a faint blush rose on her cheeks.
Even though he was probably only carrying her because her walking slowly would annoy him or it was because of sympathy, she felt a long-lost sense of security as she lay in his arms.
Martin Weiss carried Kyla to the living room and placed her carefully on the couch before instructing the servants, “Go get the medical kit and get Nurse Ruan to treat Madam’s injured ankle.”
“Yes,” a servant replied and hurried out of the living room to look for Shana Nicholls.
The other servants in the living room watched with some surprise in their eyes. The servant who had turned Kyla down when she asked for a medical kit now had a look of fear on their face.
They were deeply afraid that Kyla would tell Martin Weiss about it and they would lose their job.
Although they were only a servant in the Weiss family’s house, their salary was higher than many white-collar workers out there. The job was not tiring either, and such a job was not easy to find.
Shana Nicholls soon arrived in the living room, and the servant who had gone to fetch the medical kit came with her.
“Mr. Weiss, why did you ask for me…” Shana Nicholls asked.
“Take a look at the madam’s ankle. She sprained it,” said Martin Weiss.
Shana Nicholls was surprised. It was the first time Martin Weiss addressed Kyla as the madam in front of everyone. The term ‘madam’ was no doubt a deGracetion of Kyla’s identity to the crowd so that they did not forget that this woman was the madam of the Weiss family!
“Yes,” said Shana Nicholls as she walked up to Kyla. She crouched down, lifted Kyla’s pant leg, and began to examine her ankle.
However, this posture made Shana Nicholls feel humiliated. Kyla sat on the couch like the high and mighty matriarch while she crouched on the floor like a mere concubine.
To make matters worse, she was the one who caused the wound on Kyla’s ankle. She had no idea if Kyla had told Mr.
Weiss about the incident at the stairs.

Shana Nicholls wondered nervously. Moments later, she got up and said, “There’s nothing serious with the madam’s ankle. It’s just sprained and swollen. It’ll recover after applying medicine for a few days.”
She said as she took a jar of ointment from the medical kit.
She was about to pass it to Kyla, but Martin Weiss snatched the jar from her hands first. Then, he crouched down in front of Kyla to apply it to her ankle himself!
“Don’t move.” As Martin Weiss muttered, he took off her shoes and socks first. He held her foot with one hand and smeared her ankle with ointment with the other.
The cool ointment slowly seeped into her skin as he applied it, reducing the burning sensation she felt.
After he finished applying the ointment for her, he picked her up in his arms again before walking toward her room.
Kyla could feel the servants watching them.
Once they entered the room, he put her on the bed. Then, he left the ointment jar on the bedside table. “Remember the instructions. Three times a day.”
With that said, he turned around to leave.

“Wait!” She stopped him. “Was that… intentional?” Did he intentionally carry her, who was having trouble moving, and apply the ointment for her in front of everyone?
He could have asked someone else to do it for him.
“Anyway, you’re still my wife. We’re still married, and the people here should understand that,” said Martin Weiss.
Kyla felt her heart melt. He had always been this way. He would not say much but would express himself through his actions.
After this, the servants in the mansion probably would not dare disrespect her again. At least not until they divorced.
“Thanks,” she said.
