“Alright, got it.” Kyla ended the call with a bitter smile. Sure enough, he was unwilling to see her.

‘Does he think donating his liver to me a second time means a clean break for his feelings for me?’

‘But I don’t want that. I don’t want things to end like this between us!

Kyla dialed Grace’s phone number. “Grace, do you know the exact address of Martin’s mansion where he’s recuperating?”

Grace gave Kyla an address along with detailed coordinates.

After that, Grace asked, “Are you going to L City?”

“I’m already on my way. I’ll be there in three hours,” she said.

“Well… I wish you a pleasant journey. If you run into any trouble after getting there, call me,” said Grace.

“Alright, thanks.” Kyla did not refuse.

She would remember her best friend’s kindness. She might never be able to repay her fully, but she would remember it.

After ending the call, Kyla took out the medicine she carried with her. There were three types of pills, making up a total of eight pills. She swallowed them with water one by one.

B Gifts She should have suspected it sooner. The pills were the same as those given to her after her liver transplant. However, she had carelessly assumed that the doctors gave her the pills because her liver was not doing well after her pregnancy.

How… careless of her!

Kyla smiled bitterly as she touched her right rib right away. It was where her liver would be, and her liver was from Martin Weiss.

‘How much liver does Martin Weiss have left after donating to me twice?’ She could hardly imagine it.

‘What should I say when I first see Martin Weiss?

‘Thank you, or sorry? Or maybe… I should tell him I love him?’

If she had known it was going to end up like this, maybe she would not have broken up with him like that in the hospital.

She wanted him to live, but she had caused him trouble instead!

When the high-speed train arrived in L City, Kyla got off and took a taxi to the address Grace gave her. The security guards unsurprisingly stopped her at the mansion’s entrance.

“I want to meet Martin Weiss. I’m his wife,” Kyla said to the security guard at the entrance.

However, the security guard looked at Kyla with a confused expression. “Is Mr. Weiss married? I’ve never heard of it. How many wives would he have if everyone just claims to be Mrs.

Weiss?”

Well, it was true that her marriage to Martin Weiss was not widely reported. Even if there was some gossip news, that was only in Emerald City. Not many people in L City know about it.

Kyla took out her marriage license with Martin Weiss. “There should be no other woman with this license!”

She did not expect the security guard’s next words. “Wow, this fake license looks so real! It’s the first time I’ve met someone who came here with a false license to see Mr. Weiss.”

Kyla was speechless. “I really am Martin Weiss’s wife!”

“Then call Mr. Weiss and ask him to let you in,” the security guard said. “…” Kyla rubbed her temples. She would have called Martin Weiss if she had his phone number.

Martin Weiss had either changed his phone number or… blocked her.

Either way, it meant Martin Weiss did not want anything to do with her.

While the two parties were locked in a stalemate, a voice suddenly said, “Mrs. Weiss, what are you doing here?”

Kyla turned around to see Mallory Malcom-Martin Weiss’s private secretary. When she came to L City to see Martin Weiss before this, Mallory had taken care of her and helped her with her accommodation.

“I’m here to see Martin,” said Kyla.

“But Chairman Weiss…” Mallory Malcom hesitated and said, “Why… Why don’t I go in first and see what he wants?”

“Thank you,” said Kyla.

“It’s nothing,” Mallory Malcom said before walking quickly into the mansion.

The security guard at the entrance looked at Kyla in shock. “Are you really… Mrs. Weiss?”

“In the flesh. Not only now, but also forever,” said Kyla. She did not want to divorce Martin Weiss. She wanted to be his wife forever!

B Gifts Mallory Malcom entered the mansion and met Martin Weiss, who was sitting on the couch going through the company’s documents.

“Chairman Weiss, I just met your wife outside the mansion. Mrs. Weiss would like to meet you,” said Mallory Malcom.

Martin Weiss’s hand holding the pen paused instantly.

She still came!

She came even though he had made it clear on the phone with the lawyer that he was not going to see her.

He had deliberately stopped himself from thinking about her and removed her from his mind. However, her voice and face kept recurring to him whenever he calmed down.

Everything that ever happened in the past flashed past his mind one by one.

‘I was hypnotized! I’ve forgotten this relationship. Why does this woman still dominate my mind?’

“Chairman Weiss?” Mallory Malcom could not help asking after Martin Weiss’s long silence.

“Since she wants to see me, I’ll see her. Take her to the living. room. I’ll go downstairs to see her,” said Martin Weiss, “Yes, I’ll bring Mrs. Weiss in,” Mallory Malcom said quickly.

Although others did not know what Chairman Weiss’s attitude was toward Mrs. Weiss, he knew that Chairman Weiss cared about Mrs. Weiss even though he seemed indifferent.

Otherwise, why would he instruct him to help make arrangements for Mrs. Weiss when she came to L City back. then? He even went to the hotel often to see Mrs. Weiss and spent some time with Mrs. Weiss in Emerald City.

As far as he knew, Chairman Weiss had donated his liver to Mrs. Weiss in Emerald City! As a result, he was now in poor health and had to recuperate in the mansion.

Not many men would sacrifice their health for a woman. Even old married couples might not be able to do that.

Mallory Malcom arrived at the entrance and took Kyla inside.

Once they reached the living room, Mallory Malcom said to Kyla, “Mrs. Weiss, wait here for a moment. Chairman Weiss will be downstairs soon.” With that said, he dismissed the servants and left.

It was suddenly empty, and Kyla became nervous.

She was not nervous on the way in or when security stopped her at the mansion’s entrance. Earlier, all she could think about was seeing him. She wanted to see how he was doing.

She had so much to say to him.

However, she suddenly became nervous as she did not expect to see him soon.

Footsteps suddenly rang out.

Kyla stiffened instantly as she looked toward the stairs, where a slender figure descended the stairs step by step.

It was… Martin Weiss!

Kyla looked blankly at the man who stepped down the stairs. He was dressed in a suit and tie with his black hair combed neatly. His graceful step was not as slow as she imagined. He seemed to look the same as before.

However, when he came down the stairs and walked slowly toward her, she noticed that he had lost weight and his face was a little pale. Even the suit seemed baggy on him.

For a moment, Kyla only stared at Martin Weiss until his voice sounded. “Did you come from Emerald City to find me just to stare at me like this?”

Kyla suddenly came to her senses. Taking a deep breath, she suppressed the tension in her heart. “I came to you… to talk about the divorce.”

Martin Weiss said indifferently, “You’re dissatisfied with the terms I made, and I’ve asked my lawyer to tell you that I’ll accept whatever suggestion you have as long as I can fulfill it. If you just want to talk to me about this, you can talk to my lawyer! It’s no different than talking to me.””

With that said, he turned around to leave.
