Brian murmured, “Withdraw? If you can withdraw your affection, that only means your love isn’t deep at all.”

She looked at him with some surprise after hearing him say that.

“Have you ever been deeply in love?” Valda Theller asked.

Brian did not answer her but looked up at the sky.

The rain had begun to taper off, and the sky was clearing up.

The rain ended as quickly as it came.

Before they knew it, the rain had stopped.

Brian raised his hand and hailed a passing taxi. He got in and left, leaving Valda Theller to stand blankly in the same place.

She only felt like it was a dream. The man left so quickly that he did not even say goodbye.

“This guy wasn’t hurt by love, was he? Is that why he drenched himself in the rain and showed such a sad expression!’ Valda Theller thought to herself.

However, what kind of person could hurt this man’s feelings?

After all, when they were conversing earlier, she had gotten close enough to see his face. Even though his hair was wet, his face was bruised, and he looked messy, she could still see that his facial features were exquisite-especially those phoenix eyes. If the indifference in his eyes turned into tenderness, it could easily charm people.

A man like that should be able to attract women easily, but he looked like he had been dumped.

Valda Theller was curious, but she then chuckled. It was none of her business.

Even if the man earlier were dumped by someone, he would probably have a new woman around him soon.

Brian touched his wet hair in the car.

‘Can I ever withdraw my love for Grace?

‘Is it too deep that I can’t withdraw it? Or do I not want to withdraw it at all? Does Grace know I’ll give up my life for her safety?’

The trial for the car accident began.

Louise Mitchell stood in the dock again.

Even though the Moss family did not announce the retrial, it was abuzz online.

However, unlike the Mitchell family’s lawsuit, the Gregory family did not intervene this time. George Gregory did not even attend the trial, which made many people speculate whether the Gregory family was planning to fall out with the Mitchell family.

There were even reports that George Gregory was planning to divorce Louise Mitchell.

Louise Mitchell was not as lucky as the last time. This time, not only did the Gregory family not help Louise Mitchell but the witnesses and material evidence all pointed at Louise Mitchell, making Louise Mitchell’s excuses useless. It was clear Louise Mitchell had already lost even though the trial had not reached its conclusion.

On the last day of the trial, the judge convicted Louise Mitchell and confirmed that she was the mastermind of the accident and Sandra Lucas’s murderer. She was sentenced to life imprisonment and deprived of political rights for life.

Louise Mitchell almost collapsed to the ground while shouting, “I… I’m not guilty. I was wronged. I was wronged…”

The only response she got was the Stephensonliff pressing her arms firmly and escorting her back to the police car.

Suddenly, Louise Mitchell screamed in the direction of Amber Mitchell, “Louise Mitchell, you did this to me! You b*tch! You did this to me! Do you think the Moss family is going to treat you well? You’ll only be worse off than me!”

Amber Mitchell looked at Louise Mitchell, whose expression looked twisted and resentful. She was quite different from her arrogant self after the last court hearing.

“It’s my business to decide whether I’m going to be well off or not, not yours. You’re the one who did this to yourself! If you hadn’t caused the car accident, how could this have happened to you today?”

Amber Mitchell said coldly.

She had nothing but hatred for her half-sister.

Louise Mitchell shouted with a hideous expression, “You killed Herman Moss! If he hadn’t tried to protect you, you would’ve been the one who died instead of him! Amber Mitchell, you’re the murderer!

You’re the killer! Why do I have to go to jail while you’re free? Just wait. the Moss family will send you to jail next! You’ll suffer more than when you were in the mental hospital!”

Compared to Louise Mitchell’s excitement, Amber Mitchell only looked indifferently at the person in front of her. “Louise Mitchell, you’ll spend the rest of your life in prison without any chance of commutation. You can only atone for the sins you committed for the rest of your life!”

With that said, she turned away from her.

She and Louise Mitchell would probably never see or interact with each other again!

“Amber Mitchell, you b*tch! I’m not done with you. I’ll wait for you in prison. I’ll wait and see what happens to you…” Louise Mitchell continued shouting.

However, Amber Mitchell did not look back as if the person behind her no longer mattered to her.

She walked out of the courtroom and faced the reporters who came over. Amber Mitchell got into the Moss family’s car and returned to the Moss family’s house with Daley Moss.

“It’s not too late for you to back out,” Daley Moss said suddenly.

“Back out? Why would I back out?” Amber Mitchell chuckled and said, “Now that Herman’s real killer is behind bars, I think he can finally rest in peace. Tomorrow is the day I’m most looking forward to. I only want it to come sooner.”

Daley Moss glanced at Amber Mitchell before finally sighing.

His opinion of Amber Mitchell was changing after all that had happened.

Now, he finally vaguely understood why his eldest brother had fallen in love with the woman. He was even willing to give his life to protect this woman in a life-or-death situation.

It was because this woman… was indeed kind and righteous.

She was kind, and not many people were kind these days. One would be lucky to meet someone like her.

‘Brother and Amber Mitchell would’ve been the envy of everyone if he were still alive.’

“I have nothing more to say since you said you won’t back out. Spend the night in the Moss family’s house. Brother’s room is still the same as it was when he was alive, and I’ve put all the things you wanted in his room,” said Daley Moss.

Amber Mitchell was sincerely grateful. “Thank you, Mr. Moss.”

“Just call me Beicheng from now on,” said Daley Moss. While the car drove toward the Moss family’s house, George Gregory also learned about Louise Mitchell’s sentence.

She was sentenced to life in prison and deprived of political rights for life. The outcome of the trial was no surprise.

Given Louise Mitchell’s past crimes, even a death sentence was not unreasonable.

The only thing that surprised him was… “Did Amber Mitchell just get into the Moss family’s car?”

“Yes, Miss Amber Mitchell got into a car with Daley Moss after the trial, and the car drove toward the Moss family’s house,” the subordinate replied.

George Gregory frowned slightly. ‘What on earth is going on? Why did Amber Mitchell go to the Moss family’s house?’

Herman Moss’s room was still the same as it was when Amber Mitchell visited it. However, she felt nostalgic as she entered the room again.

‘Herman…’ The name had been etched in her bones and blood.

However, what attracted the most attention was the white wedding dress that belonged to her, which the Moss family had custom-made for her.

Yes, her request to Daley Moss was that… she wanted to wear a wedding dress and marry Herman!

Even though Herman was already dead, she still wanted to be Herman’s wife. Even though such marriage could never be legally recognized, she hoped her name could be engraved on Herman’s tombstone.

That way, she could be buried with Herman after she passed away.

She did not marry Herman when he was alive, but she could fulfill her wish by marrying him after he died.

She understood the Moss family’s concerns.

After all, she was still in her 30s. In the Moss family’s opinion, she still had the rest of her life ahead of her. Did she want to be a widow for the rest of her life by marrying a dead man?

However, she only wanted to stay with Herman.

She was tired after going through so many things. She just wanted to spend the rest of her life in peace and keep those wonderful memories with Herman!
